Happy editing! Acroterion (talk) 01:06, 8 October 2022 (UTC) October 2022Hi YourboyTim. Thanks for your recent contributions. I wanted to let you know that I reverted some of your edits, like those at Battle of Gettysburg, because they conflict with the guidelines in Template:Infobox military conflict. For example, 'result' is supposed to be either 'X victory' or 'inconclusive'. Also, we try to limit the number of commanders listed for each side to those at the very highest levels, in most cases nobody below a general. Even as it is we probably have too many listed. I encourage you to keep editing but just wanted you to be aware of why I reverted some. Thanks. –CWenger (^ • @) 15:45, 8 October 2022 (UTC) I don't know if it is you, but the amount of commanders or General is too much for the Union Side... YourboyTim (talk) 22:15, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
Hey there! Same deal with Battle of Chancellorsville infobox. Don't want to slow your roll, new wikipedian, quite the contrary. But let's keep infobox commanders a tight top-most group. More than any other quality, we value boldness, and you seem to have that. Welcome to Wikipedia and feel free to call on me or User:CWenger for help if you need it. The ACW task force is thattaway; please consider joining us. BusterD (talk) 16:56, 10 October 2022 (UTC) Well here's the thing as a American Civil War nerd, Joseph Hooker is not the only commander in the battle of Chancellorsville, Daniel Sickles and Oliver Otis Howard is part of corps too. Also it looks uneven on both the Union and Confederate side. YourboyTim (talk) 19:20, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
December 2022I'm sorry to keep bugging you about this, but we don't need or want an extended list of commanders in most military conflict infoboxes as was explained to you in the October section above. Please keep commander lists in infoboxes brief, usually only the topmost commander is essential; the rest are adequately discussed in the body of the article. BusterD (talk) 20:11, 21 December 2022 (UTC) Sorry to come crying at you, but Division commanders and Brigade Generals help carry out the plans from the General like what happened at the Battle of Fredericksburg. They are important commanders to the battle which can either make a turning point to the Battle or ruin the plans and screw the Army of the Potomac. YourboyTim (talk) 07:03, 22 December 2022 (UTC) I reverted your additions to Richmond, Virginia, because you added significant unsourced content, and removed sourced content. You are welcome to add your edit back, with a reliable source. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:50, 15 June 2023 (UTC) |
