User talk:TreveX/Archive4Wikiproject: countering systemic biasHi TreveX, I wonder if you might be able to help - I'm writing an article for openDemocracy about the Wikiproject:countering systemic bias. I'd like to get some quotes from Wikipedians about why they're involved, what they're working on and some other general issues. I wonder if you'd be willing to talk to me over email? Mine is daviddariusbijan AT yahoo.co.uk Thanks, David New anti-SemitismThank you for your comments. I'm actually hoping to avoid an RFC, but I suppose we'll have to see how things turn out. imageHi TreveX, I am (ever so slowly) trying to break out sub-pages for Lord's Resistance Army. While doing so, I noticed that the fair use rationale for Image:NightCommuters.jpg includes that there are no public domain images of night commuters, which is not entirely true as I found some from USAID. I was thinking of deleting it to remove any question of image use from the article, but was wondering what your take on it is? Cheers, BanyanTree 14:02, 26 April 2006 (UTC) Good ArticlesHi. Thank you so much!!TreveX, you have been of great help to me in your work on Wikipedia's Uganda articles. I am now writing my term paper on Uganda, and have seen its articles grow, over the course of the year (October-Current), and that is of significant help for me. I edit the articles too, with the knowledge and sources I've gained, but most of the editing will probably occur after I finish. Heh. -- AIDCfD regarding cities and towns in UgandaHello TreveX, long time. You may be interested in the CfD regarding Category:Cities in Uganda and Category:Towns in Uganda that I have suggested. See here. I reckon Category:Cities and towns in Uganda is fine. I did not dare to unilaterally delete them, so I took it to CfD just in case there are objections. --Ezeu 17:53, 14 June 2006 (UTC) GA tag to move?Since I've split of History of Solidarity from Solidarity, I think that we may need to move the GA tag to the History... article. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. Image copyright problem with Image:JackStrawFCO.jpgThanks for uploading Image:JackStrawFCO.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy). The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
