Welcome message
Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!
Of course, no problem. I will translate these images tomorrow. I will let you know. I was the author of that article, so if there is any question, please don't hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Luis María Benítez21:14, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
Hi again. I uploaded all the glacier-related drawings I had. I translated the Spanish text and I even translated more terms on a message I left of the discussion page for this article. You could take a look. Regards, Luis María Benítez20:49, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
PS: I will help you with the images for Geology of Venus and others. I need some days to work on this and other forthcoming works.
Ok. I misunderstood how you were going to use it. As long as you make a policy proposal and gain consensus to see if users and admins are going to use it. Zzyzx11(Talk)01:55, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
You wrote: I was going to ask you to check whether I had done things correctly when I closed the {{TOCright}} vote at the MOS, because I could have sworn that you were an admin because of your behavior, but I see that you're as new as me. Anyways, good work like this will make you an admin very soon, so keep it up. :) Whenever you get a Request for Adminship, tell me and count me in. --Titoxd 22:42, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
As for adminship I am still rather new in time, and have under 2000 edits, and not many major articles so it may be a bit soon -- and I'm spending too much time here as it is, and will need to slow down. But thanks. DES(talk)22:49, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
Katrina picture
A friend of mine sent it to me so I've no idea of copyright information. It is indeed a great image. sikander 22:56, August 30, 2005 (UTC)
Excellent. Thanks for the update sikander 01:20, August 31, 2005 (UTC)
link removal
Why did you remove the link from the NO page? Do you have a grudge against blogs? The decision wasn't clear on the main hurricane page, althoug most people except a few vocal blog haters supported it... it's clearly a good link on the NO page.. plus there are no external links at all now. Please reconsider. 12.111.139.202:03, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
Glad to help. Someone pointed out the talk page comment on IRC and I agreed with it - I didn't even realize it was recent vandalism. — Dan | Talk05:57, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
If you would look, I deleted some vandalism to the hurricane page. Then I changed a link where the text "Islamist" linked to terrorist. Tewdrig 14:55, August 31, 2005 (UTC)
It looks like I got fooled by the link I took here, which went to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hurricane_Katrina&oldid=22074472#Terrorist_Attack_Hypotheses. My edits were to that page, which had already been updated, so when my edits were submitted, it put stuff back in since I only deleted the second two with a note the first should probably go, and changed the link for Islamist and terrorist. Tewdrig 15:17, August 31, 2005 (UTC)
The rule was very helpful. We need more brevity here; so may lenghty pages that go on forever. By the way, glad you liked the "Who Farted?" piece. I had fun writing it. Paul Klenk13:01, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
Links
Why did you just vandalize Hurricane Katrina by inserting dozens of irrelvent and nonfunctioning links? Yes, some of them are probably okay. But links are not like article text, they don't take work to create and having the huge list just encourages people to add more. This is why it grew exponentially after I stopped trimming it every hour or so. If you'd like to include more links be specific in what you include. I did not remove all links, but only the ones which were clearly not sources for the article text. 24.165.233.15003:06, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
(well dozens was an exageration, but there were about 10 that were non working for me here), I just wanted to add that a majority of the working links I removed were links on things like the science of hurricanes most of which are actually linked from the article on those subjects. --24.165.233.15003:10, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
Ah, I didn't remove all of them. I left the references in (which need to eventually get cites in the article). In my second pass I also merged back in the government links. Linking mile of current event suff will just cause the article to gain more. It must stay focused if we are to keep everyone from contributing their favorite links. 24.165.233.15003:12, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
Maybe this isn't the best place to raise this but I'm not crazy about the idea of someone who's 76 edits deep into wikipedia putting a template I put a decent amount of work into up for deletion. other people make good points and have plausible arguments for deletion but user:patrick Lucas seems to be a ghost to this matter since he put it up for deletion. Do you know this guy? Help me understand what's going on here.McVonn04:28, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
that's cool
but don't ya see? no one cares to delete something until it gets nominated. until he decided to nominate it (still haven't heard any explanation why he thinks the lang isn't real) no one cared that I was using it. I had this template since august 4. So, it's doesn't matter who nominates it- you'r right there. I will not focus on the person. I think why it gets nominated matters, tho. I think perhaps I'm fighting on the wrong page at this point. I'v already agreed to have the original template in question deleted or used for a more established language. I just want to be able to use a template not a fakey user-style thing. McVonn04:58, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
Your comment about me possibly being blocked for reverting a vandal was a bit off...I assume you were just kidding.--MONGO 08:22, September 3, 2005 (UTC)
Where has my trusty Uncle G got to?! You know, no one actually accepted the bet... but here you go, since it's only virtual money anyway. :) Dmcdevit·t 07:18, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
Actually I'm in Portland now, at college (with no car), but yes, the topic comes up a lot in conversations with my family... :) Are you at ASU? Dmcdevit·t 23:24, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
Oh and I just saw your sig on my user page. Hooray! We're friends now. :) Dmcdevit·t 23:48, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
Are you in the honors college? What's you major? Not trying to be nosy, but you know I have a bunch of friends down there. Dmcdevit·t 00:05, September 7, 2005 (UTC)
Oh well. I should do some HW too :) By the way, the suns out and it's a pleasant 75-80 degrees here with big shady green trees outside my dorm windor. WeatherBug tells me it's 102 in Phoenix. Neener neener. Dmcdevit·t 00:18, September 7, 2005 (UTC)

Bizarre Letter to Jimbo Wales
I think that you only think you didn't understand it. Those of us who have been editing the same articles as that editor/troll have been reading the same sort of rant for months. However, his implication that Hurricane Katrina was the Wrath of God against bad government is even more bizarre than what he has previously posted.
I think that he may be doing other editors a favor by posting those weird letters to Jimb Wales, in case Jimbo Wales decides that he needs to be banned. Robert McClenon11:48, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
Rehnquist Article changes
I have been making proper additions to the William Rehnquist article all day and been besically fighting with those people who would destroy and erase my meaningful and insightful additions to the "Early Life" portion of the article, and then I get a message from you regarding those changes. Instead of attacking me you should be making sure that whoever is erasing my additions is blocked from doing that. Nothing that I added to the Rehnquist page is without backup and if anyone wants to question me on such changes can come and talk to me directly. What the hell is going on with this website. It almost seems like additions to the website which would appear to be progressive or in any way anti-conservative get the back of the hand. Fix this!!!
Hello, thanks for looking at my edit of the Rehnquist article. Again, the talk page "blanking" was merely an accident. I was only trying to delete my own comments - which were not elicitng a response. However, regarding my additions of the Alan Dershowitz reference: The issue of the "goose stepping" and heil hitlering" is well documented and even referenced in the Alan Dershowitz article which is appended at the end of the article - I suggest you read it and inform whether you think it is still something that should not be added.
Simply because something has a negative point of view does not necessarily mean it should be excluded from an article. Thanks for your response Titoxd. Krocha12345 - Sept. 7, 2005
Thanks
Thanks for the support on my RfA. I was very pleasantly surprised to see so much support throughout the week. Flamethrower, huh? <eyes glint>...Please do keep an eye on me and my logs, especially while I'm learning the ropes with the new buttons. Thanks again! -Splash18:40, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
I templated the header, but messed it up first time round. You voted after I messed it up so unfortunetly your votes were lost as I had to revert back to before my edit. Any chance you could re-visit the page and vote again? Dan100 (Talk)20:36, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
Hello again, I have (unilatterly) taken away the 'assembly' idea, as per my reasons at that edit summary and per Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Charter. I have left the admin general, as some leadership is good. Now, all you have to do is be a member to establish consensus, the whole assembly idea is gone. Also, I have added an advisory committee, of four members, with limited power besides watching over the admin general and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Please look at the ammended charter, and I would love a comment. Redwolf24 (talk) 00:33, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
The last time I'm spamming you all with Esperanza stuff
Hello Titoxd. As you may or may not know, there have been some troubles with Esperanza. So now, as a last ditch to save the community, please vote at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Reform on all neccisary polls. P.S. I'm very sorry for spamming you all with these messages, and this will be the last time. I recommend putting ESP on your watchlist. Cheers and please look at that, let's stop the civil war then. Just a reminder that I share the same IP with the vandalist (as identified by you) 203.186.238.211. Please don't block me as this IP is a shared DHCP/IP by my ISP Hong Kong Broadband. Deryck C.14:10, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
==Who's RfA== Thank you for supporting my masters RfA. He appreciates your support and comments and looks forward to better serving Wikipedia the best he can. Of course I will be doing all of the real work. He would have responded to you directly, but he is currently out of town, and wanted to thank you asap. Thanks again. --Who's mop?¿? 21:03, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
You wrote: Given that there's a snowball's chance in hell of the CSD proposal failing (unless 20 oppose votes appear out of nowhere in a few hours), I'm going to move your subpage to the template namespace. Any objections? Titoxd21:57, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
But it was My tempalte Waaaa! :) Thanks for callign it to my attention, and you cna always look at WP:RM if you really want to do page moves :) DES(talk)22:05, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Hello Spamlist!
Ah, my first ever spam mass produced and mailed to the spamlist. Well first of all let me re-state that we have an irc channel, #wp-esperanza, and its been rather empty, so I'd appreciate it if you come, even if you just idle about. Now, the evil polls have closed, and I left a justification note for running the evil polls. Nothing has really changed, but at least I have somewhat of a consensus. I hope to figure out a way to overturn my power to JCarriker somehow, I'll figure out a way :-) Meanwhile, I've been busy reforming the mediation system where I am the chairman now, er, acting chairman. Enjoy your spam, with extra vikings. Redwolf24 (talk) 00:40, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
thanks for welcome
Hi there,
thanks for the welcome. I actually do have an account, I just had gotten logged out! I am new here however so still learning the ins and outs of procedures.
Hey, that looks good. I made some minor tweaks to it, particularly the linkification of the link. It should also have the redirect {{db-a8}} like the others do, and be added to the various listings of these things. Good stuff! -Splashtalk02:19, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Several West Virginian, have been spending time working on this project when we can. We have jobs, and can't work on this thing 100% of the time. It takes time to finish a project. Sorry if it is not up to your speed. I have other history items on West Virginia, I want to be working on. A Template grid is very easy to navigate, a list takes up more screen space and is harder to navigate. As a matter of courtesy, if I see someone has put a lot of time on a project on Wiki, I leave it alone. I might suggest a change, but I will not go in and vandalise someone else work. I suggest you do the same. --71Demon04:19, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Making people that believe in Wikipedia and what is stands for, is the worst form of vandalism. I have wasted hours on this discussion. Myself and others want to complete it, but why should we continue to put in entries just, so you can delete it? I was just getting ready to work on more entries when I get this deletion notice. What do I do? Stop because you don't like it? --71Demon04:30, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
I want to express my opinion. My intent is to bring it up for deletion in favor of a template. Since templates are easier to read than lists. List are ackward. Templates are compact, and show more data on a smaller space on the screen. I figure our opinions are equal, so I should express mine. I would like to know to proper format to cause a discussion to start on the California Highway System. I believe there should be uniformity and each state Highway System should have a template like the US, Interstate and ADHS. That is my opinion. --71Demon04:52, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Hello spam list, look at this. Essjay is the new leader of Esperanza, and I'm interested in seeing how he runs it. I'm busy doing other work... Please comment at that talk page there. I will still probably run the spamlist though. Redwolf24 (talk) 23:00, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
re More on DR
The people to ping are, so far as I can see, those in Wikipedia talk:Votes for undeletion#The scope of VfU — the main section of the discussion, the final sig in which is you. I think all the other sections are conducted by strict subsets of the same editors. We should obviously ping those who would oppose as well. Message like, say, hmmm....:
Hi. You were involved in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Votes for undeletion#The scope of VfU which looked to establish a Deletion Review process in place of VfU. There is now a discussion about how we might construct the mechanics of such a process. The current proposal suggests that debates be relisted on AfD if there is a majority of editors wanting to overturn the debate (usually on procedural grounds) and that the alternative result be implemented if it is supported by three-quarters of editors. Please call by Wikipedia talk:Votes for undeletion/Deletion review proposal when you can to discuss. Thanks.
That was quick. Are we done, already? I left several amended messages with users who had made specific points, so went a bit slowly. -Splashtalk02:13, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks!
For your amazing graphics contributions to Esperanza, I hereby award you this Graphic Designer's Barnstar. Good work! -- Essjay · Talk21:56, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Our new admin general, Essjay, has set the date for the advisory committee elections, that date being October 7th. By UTC it is October 5th right now. So see WP:ESP/E for voting in two days, and add yourself to the list if you're interested in running. On a personal note, I'm considering running, as I only resigned as admin general because of time. I'm sure I could help out on the advisory committee... Anywho, watchlist that page, and be sure to read the voting method too. Regards, R[[Wikipedia:Esperanza|<font color="
