Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors

Hi! Since you've been identified as an Awesome Wikipedian, I wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.

If that sounds like you and you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors during the current term, which started in January and goes through early May. If that's something you want to do, please apply!

You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).

Hi - I was wondering whether you would like to revert some of the changes to your version of the D'Jais site before I go in and tie some of the old references to your content. I may also add a few referenced factual statements. I think the page will be stronger with both print and online references listed now that it is out of discussion. Re: Wikisource

I saw your post on RS/N and I prefer the former rather than the latter example of linking to the ref. However, I have another concern. How do I get a Wikisource template to link directly to an article? Please look at I Sing the Body Electric (Whitman). I want the Wikisource template to link directly to Leaves_of_Grass/Book_IV#I_Sing_the_Body_Electric, but 1) I can't do it, and 2) there isn't any helpful documentation that tells me how to do it. You're right, it's a browser issue. Works fine with most browsers except Firefox. Any idea why this is and if there is a fix for it? Good catch! As for your question, I don't really want to reinvent the wheel in regards to s:Scriptorium#Link_from_Page:, but I agree with other editors that most users want to see the text source, not the scan. Re: Shinese

Although all statements are referenced, many of them seem to be referenced to books specific to Shih Tzus or Pekingese, which probably don't mention the "Shinese" specifically (let me know if this is incorrect). You're right that there are a few pages that mention them (Dogster, Dog Breed Info Center) but I'm not sure I'd personally consider any of those reliable sources, after having used both for information quite some time ago.

Actually, all of those examples you gave over on my Talk could be used in The Video Game Critic's Wikipedia article, under a "Personal Life" section. You could say David Mrozek lives in blah blah blah with his wife and two kids, blah blah blah (sourced). His favorite video game soundtrack is Cruis'n USA, and his favorite ice cream flavor is Chunky Monkey, which he eats during every video game review session (sourced). He also has issues with homosexuality, which can be found in many of his reviews (sourced). So, if I make a "Personal Life" section...will you let me include the links to the many, many (I have many more that I'm not even using yet) game reviews in which he goes out of his way to say something about how "gay" a character looks or acts? - Kajicat (talk) 19:27, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. The parade was small, and from what I could tell, was only uptown. I wasn't sure what it was for, but all flags were Cuban, they had a 9/11 pins, and there was roughly 100 Cuban Catholics with a float. After they were on Bergenline, they turned around onto New York Ave and marched.

National Archives ExtravaSCANza
