Remaining 2015 dates for all regions for Wii U games.

Hey, if it's not too much trouble, do you mind making some last 2015 adjustments to the List of Wii U software? I tried looking for the North American release for Action Henk, Lovely Planet, and The Deer God on the Nintendo eShop on my Wii U (yes, I had to do this because Nintendo's official website doesn't update or hasn't added the release date for games that were supposed to be released in 2015), but when I went to search for the game, those three games weren't there. The IP editor is being intentionally disruptive and has already been reverted by 2 other editors. Regarding your warning to the anon: this is a content dispute, not vandalism. The IP is not "damaging" Wikipedia. S/he may have different understanding of the material or sources. Please don't template someone for vandalism under those conditions. See wp:vandalism

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

I changed the release date information numerous times with a reliable citation and all you have to say for deleting it is that my citation is not reliable. If the information from the GAME DEVELOPERS OFFICIAL WEBSITE is not reliable information then I'm not sure what is. @RedG09: You are misinterpreting the source you provided: [1]. The page you linked is for the original Final Fantasy VII, not the remake. The original FFVII was ported and released on PS4 in December 2015, (this Winter just passed). @Gematria: It failed to meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability. See WP:GNG. There needs to significant coverage about the subject itself from reliable independent sources and there wasn't any. @Thel337gamer: Thank you for that information. I still feel that, in spite of some outdated reference links, this site is very notable in the independent gaming community. It is rare that news sites will write about news sites, so difficult to find notability in that way, however there are many legitimate companies that reference the site in question and moreover as I pointed out above - the entry itself is used by dozens of other wikipedia pages as a legitimate reference for their own award and accolades and otherwise. So how then, does this exclude the site itself from being relevant?
If you could kindly reconsider this important page, to the ecosystem, I will make attempts to find more recent and active links that are not from the site itself.
Some quick examples from a current google search:

@Gematria: Other Wikipedia pages and websites using Indie Game Reviewer as a reference does not imply notability or contribute to notability in any way. There is a distinction between what can be used as a reference and what is notable enough to have an article, and neither implies the other. As I mentioned above, the criteria for notability is significant coverage from reliable independent sources on the subject itself. These sources you've provided don't seem to cover Indie Game Reviewer with any real depth or to a significant degree. They are just name drops, so that doesn't help. @Gematria: The subject of that newspaper article is Desktop Dungeons, not Indie Game Reviewer. It says nothing about IndieGameReviewer, it just pulls a quote from them and nothing more. Can you take a look at this?

Could you please block some users that have been stating the unsourced information about the supposed "New Characters and the "unannounced and unsourced game" Mario & Sonic at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games? This game is totally made up and Nintendo has not released the following game yet so it's not been clear about the future game in the series. And also the Wii U version is stated in the article itself, so it shouldn't be there and only contain original release dates (such as the first release: the 3DS version). Oh. As for flag icons, I am sorry.

When I was looking at video game magazine articles, I saw one which had the flag icon, and that was how I got the idea of doing it. I am sorry. Would a bot for replacing "{{flag|*content*}}" with [[*content*]] in such templates such as the newspaper and magazine templates work? Anyway, I am thinking about removing the flag of what article encouraged for me to perform this and reverting my disruption on all other such articles in which I have similarly done this. Minecraft capitol building picture

Hello I'm aware of your statement on the Minecraft Capitol Building picture on the Minecraft article - stating that it's a copyright breach. This however is not true about videogame screenshots as they naturally exist in thousands of other wiki articles about video games. Also, I'm providing a clear, updated picture of an example construction project (i.e. the U.S. Capitol, that I've built in my personal copy of Minecraft) to replace the outdated, bad resolution picture of a similar building. In addition, I am not intending to violate the copyright policies of Mojang/Microsoft by stating that I created Minecraft (the game itself), but by stating the creations you can do in the game e.g. buildings, houses, etc. In this case I built a replica of the United States Capitol in my purchased copy of Minecraft. To conclude, please refrain from removing the picture to avoid edit warring -causing your user account to be temporary locked. @Gracefool: Accessdate refers to the date of when the content pointed to by url was last verified to support the text in the article. Accessdate requires a url. There is no url for these citations, so there should not be an accessdate. Computer Gaming World cite URLs

Hello, thank you for inserting URLs to CGW Museum into Computer Gaming World cites I and others created that didn't have them. May I suggest that instead of linking directly to the PDF (for example, http://www.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/issues/cgw_47.pdf), you instead link to the parent HTML page (for example, http://www.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/index.php?year=1988&pub=2&id=47)? You would greatly reduce the bandwidth load on the site, and greatly speed up the experience for those who just want to see the cover or otherwise don't need the full text of the issue. @G&CP: Video game cover art is non-free media. Usage of non-free media on Wikipedia should satisfy Wikipedia's non-free content criteria (see WP:NFCC). These cover arts fail criteria #8: Contextual significance. Artwork is used on video game articles as a primary means of identification for the product. GT Interactive Software merge into Atari, Inc.

@Quoth-22: What's the rationale for merging the two articles? The editor proposing the merger is meant to create a discussion on the talk page and provide rationale for merging the articles. I see, yeah, I should have been explicit on the talk page – I thought the existing articles would kind of speak for themselves: the GT Interactive article mentions that the company "no longer exists" and that it changed its name to Atari, Inc.; and the Atari, Inc. article says that it was both originally founded as GT Interactive and founded as Atari, Inc. (in 2003). The reality is that both of these articles are about the same company, which has simply gone through some name changes. Open World Category

Thanks for correcting that edit, but that does bring up an issue that's been bothering me since Rise of the Tomb Raider: Reviews from different sources can sometimes contradict one another. In Rise of the Tomb Raiders case, the reviewer for ShackNews said it has an open world, while the reviewer for IGN said it's semi-open. I've been trying to play it safe and only have games with a minimum of three sources calling the game open world in the category. Since the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds only had one, I felt it just wasn't enough to cover it. However, I've been trying to get an experts opinion for a while on how to go about it. My question is, if both sites are listed as reliable, how do I determine which is more reliable in the case of two conflicting reviews? Also, one more question: I've been looking for three terms in each review, and if it has any of the three, then I add the category. Those three terms are "Open world", "Free Roam", and "Sandbox". @Chasewc91: WP:EVADE and WP:BANREVERT are part of Wikipedia's blocking policy and they support the change I made. WP:BANREVERT is not a justification for allowing blocked editor to make changes. They weren't fixing a typo or undoing vandalism, they were requesting a page move which is a significant change. This particular editor has threatened other editors, been blocked indefinitely on several accounts, been blocked over 150 times on individual IP addresses. They been vandalising Wikipedia for the past year and a half so much that two range blocks had to be applied, causing millions of IP addresses to be blocked. Allowing his changes to persist only means he wins and negates the effect of blocks. I'm completely fine with another editor opening a new move request, but I cannot support letting this editor get his away after being blocked so many times.--The1337gamer (talk) 19:47, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
EVADE says: Anyone is free to revert any edits made in violation of a block, without giving any further reason and without regard to the three-revert rule. This does not mean that edits must be reverted just because they were made by a blocked editor. BANREVERT says the same thing and continues: Editors who reinstate edits made by a banned editor take complete responsibility for the content. When I reverted you the first time, I took responsibility for the RM, and because there was nothing wrong with the request – aside from the nominator using an IP address to evade his block (an issue that has already been rectified, as the IP is blocked for 3 months) – you were in the wrong to revert me a second time.

Pokémon Sun and Moon

Please do not replace the Pokémon Sun boxart image with Moon. Per convention, all articles on mainline Pokémon games use the primary version's boxart (Red, Gold, Ruby, Diamond, Black, X, and now Sun). The "Evolve" article

Hey-o, I noticed you removed the user reception from the "Reception" bit of the "Evolve" article, as per WP:VG/Userreview, however, I would argue that it ought to be there, based on the massive scale of the negative reception, per the quote " In some cases, the existence of a large amount of negative feedback may be reported by reliable sources (such as user reception of the original ending of Mass Effect 3), in which case discussion of the user feedback is appropriate as long as it is tied to reliable sources and not the actual user reviews."; Steams own review-metrics are a reliable source of aggregate data, and the reception was notable due to the pre-relase, pre-DLC-debacle overall mixed to positive reception, since it essentially went from "This is fairly OK" to "This game is horrible, awful, will eat your children and will be forgotten in weeks". I consider the article to be significantly better and neutral at the time of writing, however, it would seem that the guy whose pet-article it is doesn't, and I would like to have someone else have a gander and see what they think, as I argue that the guy whose pet-article it is, is quite biased in his reverts and edits (which he does as soon as a negative word is added anywhere where people are likely to read them). I'm sorry not to react quicker but I have to disagree with you on this topic: You are "not seeing any indication of notability" for an article regarding a fictional vehicle from a video game. But the E-79 is a tank frequently mistaken for beeing historic and discussed as such in many tank and tank game related forums on the internet. I deem it therefore necessary that Wikipedia provides clarification on this matter. Thus, I suggest that the page of the E-79 is kept and that it is linked to at the disambiguation page as well. Franchise/Series/Game Infobox: PROposed SUB-heading STANDARD.

I noticed you have REverted the changes I have made accross SEVERAL wikis. Your reasons stated in the summaries are: "Don't use line breaks, lists are preferred" and "platform subheaders unnnecessary". I have read the current wikipedia standard (Template:Infobox_video_game_series#Template_Data) - it does NOT state ANY preference for the formatting withIN the field.

  1. Why is the list format PREferred?
  2. Is their a Manual of Style detailing it here?
  3. IF their is NONE - will you ALLOW the sub-heading standard (detailed below) to be used?

IF you prefer lists because it uses LESS vertical space compared to the stretching of the infobox frame that the sub-heading format creates - this can be EASILY solved. This is my INTENDed design standard for this sub-heading standard.

1 and 2. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lists. It states that line breaks are deprecated. Instead use Template:Plainlist or Template:Unbulleted list.
3. The infobox is for summarising key information. The platform field is meant for listing the platforms. It doesn't need to contain further information such as whether the platform is a computer operating system, handheld device or living room console. Readers can click the links to be directed to the respective platform articles, where they can find out further information. I have read the topics you have submitted. I was NOT aware MANUAL line breaks were DEprecated (for technical reasons) - as these wikis Help:Breaks and Wikipedia:Line-break_handling#.3Cbr.3E do NOT mention this IMportant INformation. I will NOT use it further - I will adopt the list format.
The GOAL of the sub-headings format design were to organize the list INto something MORE meaningful. The reader can at a QUICKly determine the platforms AVAILable by the generic headings (since they are NOW in groups) - withOUT having to go to (and LOAD) ANother web-page to find this BASIC information, IF they do NOT know about that SPECIFIC console/operating system.
To me, it is a clean and USEful tool to INcrease the value of the current information displayed - it is WORTH the lines to display it. There are FIVE catogories: Computer, Hand-held consoles, Home consoles, Mobile and Other - used where applicable. Infoboxes USUALly have space to display it comfortably.
I will REvert my edit linked above (Need_for_Speed) back to the list format.

Moby Games Comment

Hi, I understand that Moby Games is not what you would consider to be a reputable source, but there are lots of video game articles that cite Moby in their references. I figured that they would suffice for the time being until I can gather more information. I don't know whether its because you saw all my articles at once, but in the effort of trying to keep things uniform, if Moby Games is allowed to be cited on other past articles it should be allowed to be cited in new articles. Its difficult to find information on early video games, which is what I am attempting to do from more reputable sources, but citing dates and what platforms the game came on can come from Moby. @MBlairMartin: Mobygames should not be cited on any article. It's a simple as that. As outlined on WP:VG/RS, it relies on user-submitted data and is not a reliable source. I'm aware that some articles do cite mobygames, however they should not be doing that. Unfortunately, given the volume of video game articles on Wikipedia, I can't monitor and clean up all of them immediately. I'll give an example of what i deleted:- There's a game called Pokemon Emerald which released in 2004 in Japan, The US version released in mid 2005. So people were discussing "rumors" regarding American release, as to whether it will release and when the release date will be, the discussions happened in between the Japanese and US releases. Clarifying edits to avoid edit war

Hello, in Stranded (video game), Stranded Deep and Stranded II you removed distinguish modules because titles weren't ambiguous. I think we should keep that, because despite the names being clearly distinguishable, a lot of users from Stranded's community confused Stranded Deep with another game in Stranded's game series, and since Stranded's page talks (even if briefly) about all games in that series, i think we should keep that there.

Source for confusion is this post by Stranded's developer.

Also, "Stranded (2014 video game)" should obviously have remained there, as both games have the exact same name.

Regarding Darkwood (video game), i don't know why you removed a referenced sentence ("97% out of 800 user reviews were positive"). Maybe the article was wrong at not stating in-line that those reviews were in Steam, and not some other website. Instead, only the reference showed that.

Surely more information is better than less?

I put the 3 extra album covers on Hardwired... to Self-Destruct because Wikipedia has an "Extra album cover" function made specifically to add in extra album covers. If alternative album covers aren't allowed in articles then why does an extra album cover function even exist? The album has 4 different album covers, it does not need them correct but the band have decided to make it that way so why is it a problem for the article to show the covers? The whole point of an article is to give information on the topic and I added useful information. There seems to be a picking-and-choosing thing going on with certain articles like Korn's Issues for example has had 3 alternative cover arts (which were never even released with those covers I might add, they were runner-ups in a competition) on its article for years and no one has ever found any problem with them being there so why are the rules different for this album? Again an extra cover art function exists on Wikipedia therefore they should be added without dispute. It is obviously not against the guidelines if the option to add them exists.... Note how it states "widely distributed" i'm pretty sure all editions of a METALLICA album will be widely distributed. These are not limited editions or region exclusive editions. Also, An entire work is not used if a portion will suffice. This rule also applies to the copy in the File: namespace. Basically, we do whatever we can to only use one (if that) non-free piece of content (content that is copyrighted, but is allowable under certain strict conditions). Non-Free Content must meet all ten criteria at WP:NFCCP (not just a few of them, all of them) in order for them to be able to be used. Had you bothered to read it rather than reverting his edits then you would realise that the consensus is not to include the tables on the articles. Stop manipulating the Sonic Team infobox

Look, I respect the edits that you are making to the Sonic Team page, however, you are not stylising the infobox as symmetrical as the other Sega subsidiaries like Atlus, Relic Entertainment or Sega AM2. Alongside that, Nights and Phantasy Star Online are franchises by Sonic Team, they should not be ignored. Please understand this before you revert the edits that I have made. @Iftekharahmed96: Unlike those studios, Sonic Team is known primarily for the Sonic series. They have only made 2 Nights games, it can barely be considered a series. They made way more Puyo Puyo games, yet you didn't list that. It seems to me that you are arbitrarily picking what you want to be listed there. The infobox is not meant to be a comprehensive list of games they've made, hence why linking to the list article is a better solution. Articles are do not need to be symmetrical, that's a stupid argument. Yes, they are primarily known for the Sonic series, however, Nights is a franchise because it expands beyond the main games and into other Sega titles. Monolith Soft is primarily known for the Xeno series but they are not just credited for that. Saying that "Sonic Team is just known primarily for Sonic" is a weak argument in the context that it is not giving Sonic Team enough due credit and is being subjective. Wikipedia is a community based, objective platform. You need to make it as symmetrical to the other Sega subsidiaries as possible in order for everything to be organised as a Sega company page. Oh? Never knew that ANY article could go without sources in its entire section. Maybe the part where it mentions the instruction booklet could be referenced. Like literally citing the instruction booklet, just like my music articles cite liner notes for "personnel" sections. I have never edited video game articles. I saw how good the condition of the article's writing was, but the citation lack floored me. @DannyMusicEditor: In general, we don't require sources for video game plot summaries. The reasoning is similar to WP:FILMPLOT. But this is different, this is a template, that is no longer being used, because the contents are all used on the collective template of Template:Bandai Namco.
