User talk:TeriEmbreyWelcome to MILHISTHello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history. A few features that you might find helpful:
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around! I've tested it out in a few places and it seems to work quite well, and even has a few customization options that weren't previously available. To add it in, go to Special:MyPage/common.js and add in the following text:
I'll post these instructions at our project talk page for future reference. I, JethroBT drop me a line 23:28, 17 October 2014 (UTC) How to blockOnly admins can block, and I'm not one. The usual sequence of events is to give the vandal a sequence of increasingly severe warnings: {{uw-vandalism1}}, {{uw-vandalism2}}, {{uw-vandalism3}}, {{uw-vandalism4}}, and then to report them at WP:AIV. Sometimes, if several vandals are targeting a single page, it's better to request page protection at WP:RFPP instead. Philip Trueman (talk) 16:11, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
A new reference toolHello Books & Bytes subscribers. There is a new Visual Editor reference feature in development called Citoid. It is designed to "auto-fill" references using a URL or DOI. We would really appreciate you testing whether TWL partners' references work in Citoid. Sharing your results will help the developers fix bugs and improve the system. If you have a few minutes, please visit the testing page for simple instructions on how to try this new tool. Per your request on Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Pilots I have prepared a draft on Wikipedia:GLAM/Pritzker/sandbox. Please let me know what you think. Cheers, Harej (talk) 19:33, 22 July 2016 (UTC) @Harej: That is awesome! How could the archives for the project be worked in? TeriEmbrey (talk) 15:18, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
@Harej: I was referring to Wikipedia:GLAM/Pritzker/Archived_outcomes especially the Articles created as we sometimes need to refer back to this at PMML. Thanks so much for all your help! TeriEmbrey (talk) 20:35, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
@Harej: If we can work those items in, then I think we are ready to move out of the sandbox. Thanks for all your help! TeriEmbrey (talk) 13:47, 26 July 2016 (UTC) WikiProject X Newsletter • Issue 15Newsletter • September 2019
A final update, for now:
Regards, -— Isarra ༆ 19:24, 29 September 2019 (UTC) Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject noticeHi TeriEmbrey, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer. Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer. To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process! Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Points can be earned through reviewing articles on the AutoCheck report, reviewing articles listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS, reviewing MILHIST-tagged articles at WP:GAN or WP:FAC, and reviewing articles submitted at WP:MILHIST/ACR. Service awards and barnstars are given for set points thresholds, and the top three finishers will receive further awards. To participate, sign up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_History/April 2021 Reviewing Drive#Participants and create a worklist at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/April 2021 Reviewing Drive/Worklists (examples are given). Further details can be found at the drive page. Questions can be asked at the drive talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 17:26, 31 March 2021 (UTC) = I stumbled into this subject on the GLAM redlink page and have been really taken with her story. I'm finding lots of sources, but could use more. The page will definitely be put up for DYK. Does the museum library have any information on the WAC Special Services Entertainment programs? The entire subject matter of WWII WACs is fascinating. If I need to visit, I'll be glad to come down. BusterD (talk) 21:53, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Here are some more online resources for you: The Museum & Library has lots of books on the WACs that circulate (including via interlibrary loan). The catalog is searchable here: [[5]] and our OCLC symbol (which your local librarian will need for the ILL request) is ILPML. Have a great day! TeriEmbrey (talk) 14:18, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Does the library have access to Navy Times archives?I'm trying to source the removal of captain's gigs in a February 2008 issue of Navy Times. BusterD (talk) 08:22, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
Abstract: The article reports that the captain's gigs of 11 U.S. Navy aircraft carriers will be phased out by June 2009. It is stated that under a directive issued by the Naval Air Forces, these carriers must turn in their captain gigs, which are motorboats that bring ferry commanding officers to shore when their ships are anchored away, by June 30. It is claimed that the removal of these boats will cut the maintenance costs and free up valuable hangar bay space. That should help you get a copy of the article through interlibrary loan at your local library. TeriEmbrey (talk) 21:03, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future.
