Happy Bottom Riding Club

Thanks for taking the time on the article about one of America's famous aviatrix. She is kind of a hero of mine for her flying ability and who she knew in the early days of Edwards Air Force Base. I have been to the base museum several times and she was commonly referred to as Pancho and she loved that name. I noticed you changed some of the names to Barnes which may seem normally appropriate but I believe Pancho is more appropriate as that is what all the early test pilots like Chuck Yeager called her as she preferred that. TV RfC

You've misinterpreted the closer's comments. As I explained at WT:TV, you asked two questions:

1. Do we need to cite everything
2. Can we use a stopwatch to time episodes

The closer has ignored the first question and concentrated on the second. This is reinforced by his statement on his talk page: If someone wants to start an RfC to discuss whether inline citation is required in the infobox or not, always assuming that the source of the figure is established from reliable independent sources, then that is a different question (emphasis added) That is why I asked the question on his talk page, but he didn't seem to get what I was asking. For the re3cord, you'll note that his edit summary for the close said Sadly, this cannot end in anything that will be enforceable. I think, ironically, you were reading things into my comments that weren't there. Favorite book on writing

Hello, Tenebrae. Thanks for the "thanks" on "which/that/which" over on "Brian Williams," and for the note. It's always fun to get a note on Wikipedia. From what you said, and from your mention of Strunk & White, it seemed you and I might care about the same sorts of things, and so I commend to you my favorite book on writing: The Practical Stylist, by Sheridan Baker. I don't have a copy at hand right now, but I think I remember Uncle Sheridan on "which v. that" as follows: Test every "which" to see if it should be "that"; and then test every "that" to see if it should be gone! That's where I get into trouble: once I've dumped my "thats," subsequent editors are forever putting them back in. For example, they'd prefer I write to you about "the book that I like best on writing," rather than "the book I like best . . ."

The email I received had no details. It just said the strip ended. But I have possible good news. While I read the strip online during the week, the weekend strip appeared in a newspaper I see at a library which has an almost daily feature where people ask questions. Thanks for your reply. I apologize if my rather forceful request (“Name one”) came across as insulting. I did not assume anyone was imagining the problem; rather, I thought the previous requests for concrete examples had been ignored or overlooked (and if I overlooked prior examples that had been given, I apologize again). I can see how it might be taken as an “I don’t believe you, prove it,” but that wasn’t how I meant it.

I don’t think anyone is seriously suggesting we should list anything and everything that ever claims to be an award. Ideally, to me, we should list every award with a reliable secondary source, as long as this wouldn’t result in an unreasonably long list; this should prevent them from becoming too indiscriminate, I think.

Duggar home location

Hi Tenebrae, on the Duggar family, the address you have listed, from the tax records, is the trust fund address. The family home is about half a mile away. The physical house shows up clearly on Earth View, and Google Street View, so you can compare that house to known photos of the Duggar house and they are obviously the same home. The city of Springdale shows that location as being outside of the Springdale city limits, and places it inside of Tontitown per the zoning map here [7]; the 2013 aerial photos Springdale uses for zoning show the house as being beyond the Springdale city limits and clearly within Tontitown.

Now, I wish that was the end of it. You can find the same address listed as being in Tontitown on some sites and as being in Springdale on others (123 XYZ Rd Tontitown, AR 72762 vs 123 XYZ Rd Springdale, AR 72762) If you enter the address as Springdale, Google will convert it over to Tontitown, as will one national real estate site. The Zip code is Springdale, although where I live we have overlapping zip codes, so I would not count that one way or another. The House itself is specifically tagged on Google as being in Tontitown; however, the businesses near the house are tagged as being in Springdale. So I am throwing my hands up. Actually one site lists the dad as having been a Senate candidate from Tontitown, but lists his address as being Springdale, and not Tontitown. Go figure. Joya's Fun School

I got my information from TV Guides, New York Times and New York Magazine. I have a TV Guide New York City edition (September 25 - Oct. 1, 1982) edition that has Joya's Fun School airing on Friday, October 1 at 2pm. You have it ending October 1980. It continued to air on Fridays until Oct. 1, 1982. On Saturday, Oct. 9 it started airing at 6am until November 27, 1982. The final airing on WPIX was Saturday, November 27, 1982. Because it was my favorite show growing up as a kid and I have communicated with the host of the show (Joya Sherrill). She sent me an episode of the show, that I posted on youtube and she also sent me an autographed photo. I have alot of knowledge of the show. That is why I wanted to correct some of the info. It's not as easy it may look. If you notice sometimes the links down below don't link to the next countdown. For example: here and here. It was very poorly done for navigation even when it wasn't broken. I still haven't found the last countdown article page yet. That's the one I am looking for. Red Wolf response

When it came to Red Wolf, there was no reference left after his history in "1872" with that mini-series being part of the Secret Wars storyline. Even though the mini-series doesn't reveal which Indian tribe this Red Wolf is a member of, the part with him being saved from Mayor Wilson Fisk's men by Sheriff Steve Rogers should've remained. The purpose of what I did with the edit was not to be "Marvel Press Agent" as you claimed, but it's pretty clear to me that the paragraph was meant to be from Marvel's PoV if it's written as "Marvel counts among its characters etc etc". And what do you mean by "long stable version"? Was there an established consensus among editors in the past for who was to be listed in that paragraph to begin with, or simply because no one bothered to challenge the content, change or edit it? Because I've checked the history, and it's quite clear to me that editors have been adding or subtracting from that list for years. I know this because I have made additions without having it be reverted? Don't think it's a bit arbitrary for you to revert back to a version which is very likely to be based on original research, as opposed to what I did when I actually added sources referencing no other then the offical website of the publisher itself? Thank you for your message and the compliment. :)

The marriage template does allow for the dates to be read, as can be seen when you hover the cursor over the year. The template is just showing it in a concise manner. It's actually the default if you were to just put "{{Template:Marriage}}": the date would at first appear as "m. 2015", but if you hovered over the date it would give you the date that was imputed into the template. Ex.:

. This is why the dotted lines appear underneath the "m." and the given year. This is how the template page tells users to input the marriage info]. I actually only recently figured this out, so I know it's not necessarily immediately obvious if you're not looking for it. The use of the dates for this can be seen on a number of notable pages, such as those of European royal families, etc. Perhaps it's a topic for discussion on the template's talk page? X-Men: Days of Future Past reversion

Please explain the rationale behind the reversion. My small addition concerned something which was on-screen, and I felt it necessary as I was puzzled by the sequence when I first watched the film. The previous descriptive sentence ("In a post-credits scene … four horsemen watch from nearby") fails to explain why that short scene appears. Poppy Harlow--apparent confusion

I have no idea what your message to me is about. The only change I made to the Poppy Harlow article was to revert a blanking of the page by an IP user to the prior unvandalized version. If it appears that I did something else, I have no explanation for the glitch and I'm honestly not even sure what your criticism means. My apologies for any misunderstanding. Ah, that actually (sort of) explains the weird thing that happened. I got a message upon saving the reversion that the article had already been changed in the interim and that the reversion was thus being cancelled, and was then surprised when my reversion showed up in the edit history as the most recent version anyway. All this must have happened practically simultaneously. Rest assured I was only intending to deal with the blanking of the article! Thanks for helping figure this out. Batman

Can you please weigh in on the Live-adaptations discussion on the Batman talk page? The discussion is whether or not David Mazouz should be included in one the lead paragraphs as an actor who has played Batman. I have argued against his name being listed, since this is a child actor who plays a young Bruce Wayne in the TV series Gotham and has never played the costumed superhero Batman. I believe he should be mentioned in the body of the article, but not in a lead paragraph.DrRNC (talk) 21:27, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
