Hello! I'm new to editing. I added some categories. It will be hard to find citations; for obvious reasons people would have been hesitant to cite it. But It's a very important work, I think. I'm sure you'll understand that the reference for the glossarium is the work itself and it stands on its own merits; while citations I'm sure exist it's hard to find references to what would have been considered pornographic. This is a fundamental problem: there are simply not often sources for pornographic material and other marginalized topics. My source for the film is the film itself. The film exists. I'm sure you don't dispute that. Restore the article and allow others to find "appropriate" sources and improve it. It is not a draftspace article. It's an emendata article. @Gfigs:Sodomy and sodomite are English words that were invented long after the story was written down. As for mainstream, I don't know. The popular theological interpretation is the one you're familiar with. The mainstream scholarly interpretation is closer to what's described in the article. @Temerarius: there are possibly issues with translation of the Hebrew scriptures. lost original copies, intermediary languages such as Latin and Greek..and conflict between translations of the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures into English..however accounts of Sodom & Gomorrah in modern Bibles as they exist, in my view, seem to indicate that sexual sins were one of the main (yet not only) problems in those cities..see for instance the Greek scriptures (Jude 1:7).. the only Jewish English Bible have read is the JPS, and the account of Lot offering his daughters to men of the city (Genesis 19:8) in that Bible, in my view seems to support the above..do not know what the other Jewish Bibles say, or what the Jewish scholarly view on this is?.. @Gfigs: I don't know much about the Jewish view specifically, but you might find help in the Talmud and Midrash, and in current-day essays from Rabbis. The_Bible_and_homosexuality says The Talmudic tradition as written between c. 370 and 500 also interprets the sin of Sodom as lack of charity, with the attempted rape of the angels being a manifestation of the city's violation of the social order of hospitality.[11] With a different interpretation later. (Keep in mind that later theological arguments tend to become more specious, and later academic arguments increase in rigor--time treats different fields differently.) There are problems with translation. The main problem in this case is that modern translators often rely too heavily on a culture which has demonized homosexuality, and rely on this belief rather than the text for what they put on the pages. @Gfigs: Most people who have a "problem with pornography" really have a problem with shame. Did your upbringing and culture have a negative view of porn? Does your porn consumption interfere with your life? Does it stop you from doing the things you want to do, like eating 3 meals a day, going to the store to buy things you need, or making it to doctor's appointments on time? Yes, I was basically wondering when Æ became effectively a "real" letter, with which I mean when it became reasonably common, as a discernible conventionalised glyph, and not just an occasional space-saver among many other possible ligatures (that might even be arbitrarily created on the fly). Asherah & Judean Pillar Figurines

Hi, @Temerarius! I have noted that you have deleted some of the sourced material that I had added to some articles without presenting any explanation for why you did so. Particularily, in this edit you removed without explanation some content that I had added to the article on Judean pillar figurines in spite of the fact that I had cited a fairly recent WP:RS in support of it. Instead, you added the sentence: For a century, scholarly consensus has categorized the figurines as the Canaanite great goddess Asherah. That may be true, but I think our article should also discuss more recent advances in scholarship which has suggested some other possible identifications for the figurines and not just stick to past views as if they were as normative as they were some decades ago.

Also, I noticed that in this edit you also removed without explanation some content I cited from Park (2010) discussing the etymology of Asherah's name. Personally, I would like to know what was the reason or basis for doing so. Otherwise, this does not look like the kind of constructive editing that as Wikipedia editors we are expected to do.

Civility with other editors is the Fifth Pillar of Wikipedia and you seem to be resorting to personal attacks. That is not the way to edit Wikipedia, no matter how right you think you are, and more importantly, it isn't a way to persuade other editors to your point of view. KTU category

Hey, I've noticed you recently created Category:KTU texts. Wikipedia already has Category:Ugaritic texts, so I don't think this is necessary. I assume the confusion stems from the fact the article about the term KTU isn't properly categorized itself? I will admit the fact the only other article you placed in it is about a pair of deities, not a specific text or category of texts puzzled me a bit too. Good alert, my goal is to add the KTU numbers to inscriptions as I encounter them. "Ugaritic texts" is geographic, while KTU is one of these books that arranges everything and gives an official number to them. Like KAI numbers for Ugarit; numbers are the main value of the KTU texts category. The Ugaritic epics didn't really bring up this problem on wikipedia because they're found on multiple objects so they're not as tied to their KTU numbers. Thanks for watching out. You just linked the front page of the Gertrude Bell archive for the source in the image, for one - can you offer a more specific link? (There's over 500 1900 photos listed at https://gertrudebell.ncl.ac.uk/gsearch?f%5B0%5D=date%3A1900&f%5B1%5D=format%3Aphotographs&f%5B2%5D=format%3Aphotographs , each with its own specific link.) And what exactly was the significance here? Not trying to be a hardass, just to understand what's going on - as is, it seems like this might just be a picture Bell took. But there's absolutely tons of them, so it's best to pick and choose which ones get in. (Unless there was some deeper significance - was this creek later named after Bell or something?) Sorry for messing up the source link. The photo has an Arbus-like self-awareness, plainness, and pluck with Cartier-Bresson's moment-choosing. The foliage looks otherworldly, maybe no IR filter. The person stepping in a creek in a blooming almond grove on a lively day with all those people, the animal, it's heavy with symbolism and abundant with life. I'd argue that even if it's a great photo, it's not ultimately a significant part of Bell's life (her article is already pretty long, and her time in Israel just wasn't that important; I threw in one of her pictures of Ha'il, though, because that was very significant and unusual, by contrast). Buuuut that doesn't mean it can't be used elsewhere. It sounds like it'd be a great fit to an article on the region / history of it if it'd work there.
