PC updatesDon't know why am i doing this seeing your reaction when i reported User:Borocho22, but here's what this other chap (this one active as of today!) thinks or his MANY messages/warnings (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Arnaldo_Edi_Lopes_da_Silva&diff=599902892&oldid=599221235). Thanks mate. About Neves: i repeat what i told you above, the BEACH SOCCER RESTELO covers the injuries part of storyline, for example with the line "As suas lesões, muito graves e constantemente agravadas, também não contribuíram para a sua afirmação no plantel encarnado.", which means "His injuries, very serious and relapsing constantly, also did not contribuite to him affirming himself in the reds' squad." (having addressed that and since you believe me i reckon, can i remove the tag?) About the user(s) that don't PC update: i know you are not an admin, but i noticed you were involved (so to speak) with both of them, i tried not to do the same myself because i have an history of 1 - not being listened to; 2 - being insulted to top it; 3 - not using the proper guidelines as far as warnings go. I dearly appreciate your assistance in this instance. Again, thanks for your time, please reply "Yes" or "No" (simple as that man) to the tag issue. Cheers --AL (talk) 18:15, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
I'll try the MD website again today (not keeping my hopes high on a Spanish web keeping track of a Portuguese obscure player's injury record, though), but that's it. Wikipedia appreciates your help. But i'm really fed up with those WHO ARE vandals (you have no idea just how), hence it's really the best thing for me to leave after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, like i told you some years ago, this is not fun for me anymore, more like a chore. I'm not kidding myself and think "Oh, i leave for six months, cool down and when i return, it will be a bed of roses", no, vandalism in WP is just one of those certainties, it will NEVER end, just like there will never be peace in the Middle East and football will never be a "factor of worldwide union", it will always a place where idiots go to vent their frustrations insulting the players (on BOTH teams), the referees and sometimes maim and/or kill each other, and where the due participants (players and coaches) don't know how to win or lose - my country has two of the best in the world in that department, this guy and this other guy, latter loses at home with the bottom-placed and blames the refereeing, and his physio coach has been sent off more times than some hardcore stoppers in some leagues! Back to the PC update thingy: 1 - i, more often than not, have this outbursts when the player belongs to a Greek team, because i am almost certain (cannot prove it of course) that it's User:Antony1821 fulfilling his threat of socking until the cows came home if someone blocked his original account, despicable as can be; 2 - i noticed that you corrected me on Athletic Bilbao players even though the update was correct (i.e. game ended on 20 APRIL 2014, i wrote that minutes after game ended, but without the tilde approach, is it still wrong like that?). Cheerio, happy editing --AL (talk) 15:59, 24 April 2014 (UTC) Stats and recordsOk, I wasn't aware of the Policy, it's not something I'm that clued up on regarding Wikipedia, but I see where your coming from. Although there are some issues with the program as well. For example, AWB also tags those pages to be Orphan that are not linked by 3 or more pages, so we have to avoid it, especially with the new pages. Underlinking has been disputed too, that whether AWB should be used for tagging 'underlinked' or not. Although AWB is still great for identifying if a page has enough links or not. I think I will be using AWB like I did before, once its new version is released. Carry on with us! I've used the sort function on the articles for recent York seasons, but with us playing in five competitions this season the columns don't fit on the page when the table is sortable. I've transitioned them back to non-sortable for the past two seasons so they're consistent, but I'm wondering whether to only remove the sort function when necessary like with this season? (The) Gay MeadowOur own article on the Gay Meadow uses "the" interchangeably, but of course, Wikipedia is not a source. I think it is a totally undefined thing, as this link from the BBC while the stadium was still in use says "The Gay Meadow", while your official link said "Gay Meadow". I think WP:COMMONNAME revolves around mass media sources, so more investigation will have to be done before we get to the definitive (no pun intended) name. Another lost battle, i really don't know why we can't compress the subject's full name in box when it's humungous (as in Kenedy's case) if the complete name appears in intro. Fair enough, i have to respect other people's work, so i give up. But it's "interesting" that my changes are almost immediately detected (makes me feel like my edits are being watchlisted by other users, not pointing fingers, a general overview only), while - also in Kennedy - this anon idiot keeps screwing up player positions, in some cases i think he deliberately makes up the position, Kenedy was NEVER a defensive midfielder, and sometimes months go by before anyone detects anything (see here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/173.46.250.48 has been warned to and fro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:173.46.250.48); to finalize this first topic, i apologize for going berserk in the edit summary, precisely due the vandal's actions. Not to you in particular, but to WP in general. Last but not least: is it me or is a jab being directed at me in the message you sent to User:MYS77 (very last line)? Please be so kind and elaborate. Kind regards as always --84.90.219.128 (talk) 18:16, 23 September 2014 (UTC) My kind question about your opinion on the (lack of) quality of my edits does not merit a reply apparently, i mean at least i think i posed it politely. Regarding the PC updates, i am trying my "bestest" to only update box when game has ended or in the vicinity (i may incur in the occasional error, not saying i am perfect) so that no readers are mislead, but you still think it's a poor attempt on my part and revert me, fair enough (last time i checked, you can update the box manually as long as the dates are OK). Regarding Kléber Laude Pinheiro, he has TWO and not ONE app for current club. Generally, both ZEROZERO and FORADEJOGO update Portuguese/Portuguese-based players very quickly, but it was not Kléber's case (please have a look at this match report, he played 30 minutes from the bench http://www.foradejogo.net/match.php?match=201515400010508; i know i am not a reliable source, but i saw yesterday's match and i saw him play). If you check Miguel Massana's article again (the one that is connected to your previous message about edit summaries) you'll see why i fumed (not justifying anything), the AEK Larnaca F.C. fan continues to update stats in the box without one single PC alteration - they've been at it for almost TWO YEARS now - i followed the squad because of its many Spanish players for a while, but it's 'bout time i stop, it's useless. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 14:58, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

PC updatesOn the subject, wanna have a go at this ACF Fiorentina fan? Like the AEK Larnaca F.C. guy i discussed above, the person has never written an update in TWO or THREE YEARS. However, it's a lost battle, in Khouma Babacar, before i stepped in i found three different anon IPs (at least this one has been warned, the others i still have not investigated http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:94.34.163.48), the person is untrackable pretty much; those two, alongside the many anon forms of User:Antony1821 (not only did he promise to sock until the end of time if his original account was blocked but he also does not PC update), are quite the handful! Done talking to walls like these two (whether they do it on purpose or they simply don't know how to read a message, the feedback is the same, that of talking to a concrete object), i'm getting way overengaged again, in the long run both me and the site suffer so it's not good (no man, not saying i'll retire for the umpteenth time, just saying i need to edit already and chill out). Mexer - OthersI apologize for having forgotten to pipe the club names again after my edit, but the "foot stays down", and in no way is this a personal beef. 1 - you left the article incoherent in display, with some clubs piped and others unpiped; 2 - tags: I repeat, I have seen hundreds of articles that have no "citation needed" or akin tags for months. Suddenly, after I make some improvements there, they suddenly receive the tag, I am desperate to see the connection between the two actions; 3 - again, you accuse me of calling "vandals" to fellow users just because they don't PC update the box, when I have never done such a thing, please STOP (I have called vandals and worse to others, but not for that, for vandalism maybe?)! 4 - last but not least, when do you think it's possible to crack down on the user(s) that "update" the ACF Fiorentina and AEK Larnaca F.C. players? Not asking you directly to do it, of course, just saying what it's like, and what is it like? If not for me, those boxes would not have been updated in years, simple as that; as you say towards the end of your message, it's very tedious. Again, sorry for any inconvenience, cheers --84.90.219.128 (talk) 16:01, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
I have to side with you in the summaries, I gotta stop getting so wound up about this, WP does not belong to me and it does not put food on my table. Regarding the opening line of Mexer, and what's the problem with not including that there? Not all footballers are internationals, thus: 1 - it will be more coherent if we leave all players the same ("...is a Y footballer that plays for X club as a Z"); 2 - that he is a current international will be shown by the fact the box is not closed in that department ("2007-"). However, that does not change the fact that Luis Fernández is SPANISH and his last name has an accent, so I wager Hernández would have the same "grammatical reasoning". I offered said reasoning to the two users last connected to the article, one of them moved the page, you chose to reinstate the previous version, okeydokey, it stays that way. WP is all about verifiability and sources, correct? I did not offer any source to this claim above, do you have any sources it is "Hernandez"? However, if my summary was hard, and for that I apologize, so was yours ("...something resembling English"). However, in this one particular piece, the piping or not piping aside: you removed links of competition, leaving Segunda División hiding a season of that competition, the same with UEFA Cup. Bordeaux was a series of removals altogether, beats me why. And isn't it logical that, if Espanyol climbed from the second tier, where they finished sixth next was in La Liga? And why do we have to say La Liga (or any other league) until the cows come home in texts? For starter, it's not even an English word; and "funny" how some people (of English tongue) here have stressed that the full name of the (this) team is Real Betis and you have to write it like that even in box, but then we can't even unpipe in storyline, where's the coherence in that? With trolls such as this one I even relish the prospect of leaving some articles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:188.81.115.107), so I have never edited S.L. Benfica-related stuff to avoid being taunted by these "people". However, when it's clearly not the case (just two good editors "going at it"), it really saddens me. I could have been a picky guy and choose a path that would end in something similar to an edit war, but it would cause problems for us both and we have better things to do I imagine. Also, please note that I am not being a coward (saying "I'll leave Mestre's article alone a few days, Struway forgets and then i'll edit it again", I HONESTLY thought my additions of today were harmless, I see they are not and that I am not allowed to do anything there). Maybe I could have (me and you, not just me, me more because I am think I am more proficient in Spanish) found refs to improve the article so that we are able to remove the tag. I can do that, but now I stay true to my promise, I won't touch storyline with a ten-feet pole (I mean, I actually did not touch it, still was reverted). I repeat my happy holidays wishes, from Portugal --84.90.219.128 (talk) 17:51, 23 December 2014 (UTC) My SINCERE apologies, you did not revert me as I stupidly assumed, that's what happens when I write messages BEFORE reading other people's and concede to my intuition. Still about storyline (only noticed it now): you don't think it's possible to say he played at "fellow league club Logroñés" after it's been noted and linked in the previous line Real Madrid belongs to La Liga, you have to say La Liga again? And I repeat, I may be a veteran editor, but I'm as dumb as they get regarding WP technicalities, only one I know by heart is WP:BOLD :) Really, "top-divisioner" does not exist? Cheers, happy weekend --84.90.219.128 (talk) 18:13, 9 January 2015 (UTC) As far as I thought, I thought "rescinds/ed his contract" could mean an unilateral move (the player forced it, or the club sacked player due to violation of internal regulations), but in the second paragraph we can read "El club catalán y Raúl Rodríguez han llegado a un acuerdo para rescindir el contrato", translated "The Catalan club and RR have reached an agreement to rescind the contract", so it was mutual consent in this case. Jack ButlandHello Struway, If you check the link here [[38]] the link goes to Darren Randolph. Yes, the link was described as being to Jack Butland, but this was in error. I replaced that link with a link to Premier League and you in turn replaced that with a link to Jack Butland at Stoke. At least your edit now goes to the correct player (as mind did) but the mistake in editing wasn't mine. We just chose different ways to correct the error. Cheers. Michael Glass (talk) 11:04, 15 January 2015 (UTC) Bits and pieces1 - Cristian Portilla: my actions were per this reasoning, I thought only publisher (or work, or newspaper, or whatever) sufficed for the author of the source, I thought we did not had to have two, matter of fact the vast majority of sources on footballers only have one field per that; I also removed loans because I thought what was already covered by the infobox and it did not need repeating. I am not going to use the word "stalking" because it would be unfair to you and a downright lie, but I feel my edits are still under great scrutiny. Well my wiki-friend, I am not going to get any better as far as technicalities go, not doing what I do to spite anybody; I also repeat, I know that whatever you do is ALWAYS for the good of the project and that you don't have anything against me. What is exactly the thing that you feel where I should improve the most from my current wiki-status quo (the obnoxious summaries notwithstanding)? 2 - What about Pablo Ibáñez's England career? I read in his article that his contract expired and he was released, but I never saw him in action in any games in your country. I thought he was perfect for the English football that's played in the divisions 2-4, quite physical and with good aerial ability, but little mobility. Was he released due his age or wages, or both? Now, for the technicalities, which mainly are three: 1 - I thought the intro was supposed to contain a summary of the person's career and highlights, how are TWO caps (one for a team that does not even have a WP article) notable? 2 - player position, you often complain about me writing "wingback" in the infobox and another thing in the introduction, now do exactly the same, can I please see the difference? 3 - categories, my order M.O. is: personal cats; X country footballers; player position(s); leagues; clubs; foreign leagues/clubs if any; international stuff (if any); manager stuff (if any), what is the order you have chosen for Mr. Coll's article? 4 (not very important, but i'll bring it forth anyway) - don't the English people ever write a match result in full, "two to one" instead of "2-1"? That was exactly what I was trying to convey in reference #14. Cheers (and again, my promise, I won't edit the article again, at least you let my translations of refs #8 and #19 stay, as well as the honours - please note that some Copa del Rey tournaments ended the same year they started back in the day and until the 60s - so all was not lost), continue the good work --84.90.219.128 (talk) 17:55, 19 February 2015 (UTC) P.S. And since the main categories are ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL GOALKEEPERS/DEFENDERS/MIDFIELDERS/WINGERS/FORWARDS and an old OUTSIDE FORWARD is a winger today, I think the category should be accommodated in Mr. Coll's article to "winger", but don't worry it's just a suggestion, I won't touch it.
