Your Bacon Challenge Sign-upHi Spinningspark. You have been added into the Bacon Challenge 2010. Anything that you have done report here to earn points towards the Bacon WikiCup 2010. Cheers.--Sky Attacker the legend reborn... 20:18, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
GreetingsSir or Ma'am, Would you please consider semi-protecting the Mary Baker Eddy article? This would prevent the un-registered person(s) from this IP, from editing the page. As I mentioned in my request to have our IP unblocked; This IP is for all US Army Forces within the country of Kuwait. (About 20,000). It seemed very unfair to block the page for half a year! I'd like to mention, I did read the entire artice, it's history and talk/discussion page. It's obvious the article has been in heated debate for some considerable time now. I'm sure it will only continue, but semi-protecting the article will, as you know, force anyone whom wants to edit to register -- and be held personally accountable. Thanks for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.81.248.53 (talk) 12:50, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
My Unit, My Country?SpinningSpark, As I mentioned to you this shared IP address is for all of US Army Central, Kuwait. 20,000+ Service members, 300,000 Contractors, and many, many transiet personnel. Please don't point the finger at "My Unit, and My Country." I asked you a simple question, could you lock the page? Thank you for your dramatic answer. I took the time this morning to read this entire article, it's talk page and history. It appears you are certainly baised to the Mary Baker Eddy page. You even delete user comments and questions from the talk page to maintain your strangle hold on your version of the page!! Now who's the child? I'll be creating my own user page ASAP. Good luck with your propoganda. And as for your threat to block our IP even longer... I'll mainatin a record of the entire Eddy page, and this conversation, just like this one, it will be reverted by someone with common sense. Good Day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.81.248.53 (talk) 13:32, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Good contributionsGood job Spinningspark on your latest contributions, in particular, the edit you made to pig cruelty was a good addition. You are doing very well, in fact you are currently tied with me for 3rd place. ;)--Sky Attacker the legend reborn... 20:40, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Low priority cropping?Sorry about the other time Sparky. If you can find the time, can you see the photo on the Roswell Rudd infobox photo and slice some of the top off? I think you'll see what I mean. You know best! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 00:36, 21 December 2009 (UTC) Passing the Hat - Onward to Bacon Glory in 2010!
Bacon WikiCup - Participant Interview Week 3Spinningspark as the greatest gainer and current leader of points in week 3 of the Bacon WikiCup 2010, can you give us some feedback about how the Bacon Challenge has being going from your point of view? 1. Before you exceeded 61 points did you think that you would end up holding the lead at the end of the week by 15?
2. There have been plenty of articles written by many participants. Which of these articles have you found the most interesting and why?
3. Have any pictures uploaded from other editors interested you?
4. You have some images ready, but will not be uploaded yet due to image policies. Are there currently any other pictures that you have ready, but will be held back at a later date for the same reason?
5. What are your thoughts about Bacon in general; As a food, as a fuel etc.?
--Sky Attacker the legend reborn... 20:46, 21 December 2009 (UTC) Popeye brand spinachWhat are the chances :-P? I actually knew there was a Popeye spinach brand, but certainly sadly it should just get a mention on the Popeye article. Nate • (chatter) Re: "So what more do I need to do to get one of those bacon star thingies on my page?"{{User:Kelapstick/Bacon Cabal/Logo}} You mean these? Ask Kelapstick. I have no idea how to get those.--Sky Attacker the legend reborn... 06:12, 22 December 2009 (UTC) By the way, your interview is up on the Bacon WikiCup page. Although, I've cut two questions from each interview so far, including yours for reasons relating to length. I also accept your critism of the point system. To be honest, the point system wasn't exactly easy to put together because of how many different means of contributing there are (eg. create an article, contribute to an article, have a DYK nom, upload a picture, create a redirect, create a template, create a stub template, copy-edit...the list is virtually continuous). However, funnily enough I've actually felt similar about everyone's points to the way that you've felt about your own. Although I feel some of the point values of certain contributions to the WikiCup may not perfectly seem to reflect the amount of work involved for that individual contribution (eg. six redirects scores more than an article or "extra work" on an article doesn't necessarily earn you more points), I am happy at this moment that everyone is more or less on the amount of points that they should be on, so overall, like your points, I think everyone's balance out evenly. I don't know if we will be doing another event next time, but if we do, then, your right, the point system will need looking at, (assuming that we even have another Bacon WikiCup at all). But as you can see with the large amount of "bonus points" handed out, there are so many ways that editors can contribute (someone created a new admin type for the Bacon challenge!) that the system, in its entirety, is quite complex. As I've been typing this I've just had an idea. For now, we'll keep using the points system until the final day and then what I could do is assess every editors reported contributions and then make a fair judgement based on what is in each editor's section on the reporting page as to whom is most deserving of the Bacon WikiCup, regardless of the points, although the points table could be "added weighting" to my making of the decision. Just a thought.--Sky Attacker the legend reborn... 06:47, 22 December 2009 (UTC) When it rains...Here is another photo needing the right hand sliced off. Here is Edgar Jones: [1] I didn't want to place it until it was properly sized. Would you do the slicing? The one I have for him at Edgar "Jones" Jones isn't as good. Thanks! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 07:57, 22 December 2009 (UTC) DYK nomination of Guinea hogHello! Your submission of Guinea hog at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Speaking of guinea hogs (?), I enjoyed reading your interview [2]. A pack a day seems like a lot. Have you ever seen Woody Allen's Sleeper (movie)? Maybe bacon will turn out to be healthy after all??? Maybe mix in some celery and apples now and again just to be on the safe side. ;)

Recent edits to Circular referenceHey, just dropping you a note that I really like your recent edits to the circular reference article! I glanced at that a few weeks ago, and thought the article was appallingly bad. I'm glad that you fixed my biggest complaints about the article for me! Obscuranym (talk) 08:24, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
Bacon ChallengeNo worries on the scooping, it's probably karma anyway. ;) Besides, you did a good job on the Guinea Hog article, I like it a lot. Also, I was totally wrong about forced image size. MoS must have changed since I read it last (which was months and months ago), I just remembered plenty of people removing the larger pixel size of lead images. Happy holidays! Please take your time with wire materials in Mechanical filter. It is somewhat unfair to pick up things which interest me, but I can't help it. I agree that magnetostriction is the reason, and thermal arguments are minor (if important at all, though my experience with microwave resonators is such that even minor issues are important at high Q, as various thermal dependences affect the drift of resonance frequency). My pushing this issue is aimed to explain why magnetostriction is important in resonator design, and what other materials are used when magnetostrictive properties are not needed; not to have a detailed review on that though. Materialscientist (talk) 23:24, 27 December 2009 (UTC) Re: Humboldt CurrentHi. Thanks for the information. I am currently looking at the global sea surface temperature maps, and it appears that the Humboldt Current is very close to getting cut off in Chile, in an area south of the most intense part of the cold current (off the coast of Peru-Chile), as winds are driving the current El Nino pool southeast toward the coast of Chile, as well as in other directions. This is likely to wreak havoc on weather patterns, so I posted the question asking for more research on this topic. Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 18:24, 3 January 2010 (UTC) TalkbackHello, Spinningspark. JPatterson (talk) 18:48, 15 February 2010 (UTC) Questions again SparkyQuestions: re: uploads to Commons. When I upload photos of musicians and they are from a well-known group like Blind Faith, or are celebrities like Steve Winwood or Jack Bruce, and the Category doesn't exist yet, I end up getting stuck putting them into Cat.s like "Bass guitarists from the United Kingdom", or "Cat:Multi-instrumentalists" or other places where they are lost to others. How can I begin a Category on Commons for Cream, or Blind Faith, or other bands or musicians when I know there are more photos either coming soon for them, or there are some that already exist in Commons (as in the case of early Jeff Beck photos I uploaded long before there was a Cat:Yardbirds.? I'm confused about such things.--Leahtwosaints (talk) 23:54, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
I saw an article got moved from user space to article space? I think the rest should also be moved and the DYKs put up. (I created a special section at the bottom of the DYK page...). Can you help slice this?I can not find a photo of Sterling Campbell, most recently drummer in David Bowie's backing band. The best I could do, was this photo here in Commons: [3] Is there a way you can slice it so the drummer is visable and there's something that can be used in his infobox to identify him? I guess if David Bowie is in it, that won't matter, but I really knocked myself out just to try to get this pic of Campbell! At your leisure of course! I'd sure appreciate it. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 00:01, 24 March 2010 (UTC) AfD nomination of Aboobacker AhmadAn editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Aboobacker Ahmad. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aboobacker Ahmad. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
