A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right. It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However,due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted. Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review. It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial. Your edit summary, "Meaning what?" means nothing, ironically. He's Canadian and he collects things. That's what the category is for – it's as simple as that. The category is not meant to be reserved for people known primarily as collectors, if that's what you were thinking. He's also currently listed as a notable collector in article collecting, and whereas I don't necessarily agree that he ought to be so listed, I don't care enough to make that call. It originally said that the Jimi Hendrix single "Hey Joe" was released on October 23, 1966, which was obviously wrong because records are simply not released on Sundays. I already knew the correct date was December 16th 1966 anyway (a far more feasible Friday) and I provided a link to confirm that fact. In what way did it not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy? If I see any glaring errors like that on any website, my first instinct is to correct them no matter what I have to do in order to achieve that. If that particular error is not corrected by me I may ask a friend to correct it instead. I don't mind as long as it is corrected. I just can't stand to see such obvious errors going uncorrected. Dispute resolutionHow can I finally solve this dispute then? I mean, it is pretty obvious that there isn't going to any more discussion in the talk page, also, the users claimed that considering Communism a Totalitarian and Authoritarian ideology is somehow only a point of view, and that as such, it violated the NPOV rule, I was thinking on starting an RfC but the glossary states the following: "Remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; all articles must follow the Neutral point of view, Verifiability, and No original research policies." Help with an involved editor formally closing an RfCWalter Görlitz has formally closed this RfC: Talk:Boy_(album)#RfC:_Should_two_scores_from_Rolling_Stone,_from_the_same_year,_be_included_in_the_ratings_box?. The votes were 4 to 2, and he was one of the involved voters/comments; in fact he has been involved in the original content dispute and previous discussion that led to me opening the RfC. The RfC tag expired 16:01, 6 November 2018, and he formally closed it with a summary explaining his preference. I reverted this, and relisted the RfC, and he reverted me. And similar to his behavior at a discussion in the recent past (where you reprimanded him), he has been threatening me with a topic ban again. As I explained in this edit summary, the guidelines state "If the matter under discussion is not contentious and the consensus is obvious to the participants, then formal closure is neither necessary nor advisable." And that if it is contentious anyway, an involved editor is not the person to formally close the RfC (WP:CLOSE#Closure procedure) As usual, he has been tone-deaf to what I say. Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised. You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki. When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed. Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins.
