Steven Rodriguez

The callup won't affect his appearing in the AFL. You can have MLB experience and play in the AFL, as long as you still retain rookie status.

Reading Phillies

That's possible. I don't really care (or know) very much about minor league players who's aren't from around my area or have no affiliation with the Phillies organization or haven't played in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball...those are pretty much the only ones I've ever heard of. I agree I don't think every player on the 40 should automatically get an article. But I do think some are notable enough. I usually don't create the ones I don't think are notable. Vlad Guerrero

Hi, I noticed you keep taking out Tigres del Licey from the infobox listing Vladimir Guerrero's professional teams. In order to give a complete picture of his pro career, it needs to stay. The time of year that they play baseball in the Dominican Republic is irrelevant. It is the country's top flight league and there is precedent all over wikipedia for athletes who play in the top-flight of a country's league, like Doug Flutie or Fernando Torres. (talk page stalker) Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for initiating a discussion rather than edit warring. The first discussion I can find on this is linked here. Mexican League teams are technically considered AAA teams, therefore we don't include them in infoboxes. We do, as the aforementioned discussion indicates, usually note leagues such as the NPB, which is the top league in Japan, but since the MLB is the top league in America, that is the only one we tend to note in a player's infobox. The winter leagues are basically developmental leagues that contain various MLB players that are playing to get extra work, or in Vlad's case prove he still has it... They aren't considered Major Leagues and it has long been the policy at WP:BASEBALL to only include Major Leagues in the info boxes, such as MLB or NPB.. not Mexican league teams or dominican teams or any other of the so-called winter leagues. Thanks for the catch on Charlie Roy. It still seems odd to me since Charlie was born on the reservation in Minnesota (and in the 1900s, sources suggest he went home to Minnesota) and Luther was born in Tennessee. I suspect half-brothers or something, but that is all just playing. Stranger things have happened than two brothers born 20 years apart in two very different places. Hi Spanneraol, when you add an AfD to a delsort page such as you did with John Whittleman at Baseball (step 1), you need to tag the AfD by adding the relevant tag (step 2), in this case {{subst:delsort|Baseball|~~~~}} , which will inform editors that it has been listed there & avoid it possibly being listed more then once. I see references to him signing at several sites... and a tweet from a credible reporter is usually good enough to make a change.. obviously better sources can be added eventually but tweets from reporters are the fastest way to get news... usually before they have time to write up the actual story. As a Jays fan I remember a reputable reporter tweeting that Darvish was coming to the Jays. It wasn't true. That's why Wikipedia wants solid references. Ibanez just agreed to a deal, Hoey signed a deal... slight but important difference. Also, when it comes to minor league signing they usually don't have official announcements.. I created most of the season pages... though I really only update the Dodgers pages myself... if you want to jump in and help out go right ahead... If the season pages are your thing, I'd suggest you go back and look at how they were done for past seasons.... different people update the pages in different ways but their are some general style things that should stay the same to keep the pages consistent. I know that the guy who does the Cardinals seasons uses more stat tables than i do for the Dodgers, but you should look at several of the 2012 seasons and see what was done on those. Good call

Hey, just to say that I saw you had taken over/become embroiled in the conversation about "Ramirez" over at the BLPN, I got fed up, took a mini-wiki break to do other stuff etc. Just to say that the "Personality" section title is more neutral IMO, there's no other place to put this info, and thanks for finding an article that actually says quirky. I see that I'm accused (again) of entirely making up the stuff about "his quirky behavior and attitude" and that "it's just an editor's opinion", which I find very strange as I didn't know who the guy was, I don't give two hoots, and was just summarizing the RS to make it BLP-compliant, compared to the junk that was there before. Yea I got fed up with the fact that the IP didn't seem to be listening to what I said and kept claiming my comments were "irrelevant"... so i backed out of the discussion... not worth it really... I wrote a lot of the Ramirez article so i took it a bit personal (though i did not add the manny being manny stuff). I'm sure the IP will eventually get his way since he ignores all other comments. Well, I got fed-up and kinda confused for something that seemed a fairly regular BLP issue (cut the crap and rewrite what's left encyclopaedically), when the IP turned round and seemed to backtrack on what they had previously said was fine. Removing the Wild Card standings template

Hey there! I see you recently removed {{2013 NL Wild Card standings}} from 2013 Los Angeles Dodgers season. Care to explain why? TCN7JM 04:46, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Because I don't like that template. It is loo big and takes up too much space on the page... I don't like that it contains the division leaders, which is not relevant on individual team pages. It might be fine on the overall MLB page but is a waste of space on the team pages. Even newspapers dont carry a full wild card standings list until near the end of the season. I'm not going to fight you on the other team pages but I maintain the Dodgers page and I don't want it there. Spanneraol (talk) 12:28, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

That reason seems to violate WP:OWN. All 29 of the other team pages have the template, so the Dodgers' one is just going to be inconsistent. Your original reasoning at WT:MLB was that you wanted to wait until the season started, so I did. TCN7JM 12:40, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
