Howard ZinnThanks for your contributions to Howard Zinn. It would be helpful if you could cite your sources, however, as at least one of your changes was incorrect (Zinn's degrees are in political science, not American history). RadicalSubversiv E 19:58, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC) The above comment is incorrect. Zinn's graduate degrees are in both History and Political Science Skywriter Good to see you backWelcome back to Wikipedia! Thanks for deleting the repeated discussions on Talk:Howard Zinn. How's the book coming? Any progress? As for people changing birthdates, I think you were right to ask the user directly, but in the future, if you see vandalism, like a person changing dates or facts, or deleting article content, you can add the template {{Test}} to their talk page (or, if they already have that template, {{Test2}}, {{Test3}}, and so on, at which point you should probably contact an administrator [like me!]). But really, it's good to see you back. Any thoughts for the plane crash article? -Mysekurity 05:27, 15 November 2005 (UTC) Ludlow MassacreI agree with your comment re: citing sources. Consensus-buildingPlease check the proposals and the counter-proposals on Talk:1953 Iranian coup d'état. --Kurdo777 (talk) 23:50, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
You should explain why you deleted this.
Why is this obscure 20-year-old resource [1] referred to below as Mohammed Amjad. (( http://www.greenwood.com/catalog/AFD%252f.aspx "Iran: From Royal Dictatorship to Theocracy"]. Greenwood Press, 1989. )) being used as the main source for this proposed lead when one the title and subject matter of the book is 1979 and not the 1953 coup and two Several excellent and widely reviewed books have been published much more recently on the 1953 coup in Iran, and three the governments of the US and UK have released information that sheds light on the coup and tends to discount this proposed lead? This appears to be agenda-pushing at its worst. This kind of agenda pushing is what is keeping this article blocked for lack of consensus. Skywriter (talk) 19:02, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Referencing one section of old version of 1953 coup in IranReposted from my talk page --BoogaLouie (talk) 00:04, 17 July 2009 (UTC) Hi BoogaLouie, You have referenced this link several times http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat&diff=264350953&oldid=264350720#Cold_War and I have written that it is irrelevant and unnecessary expansion of the article. Let me make clear that I think the following paragraphs are not necessary especially when primary documents are quoted (the Wilber document, the NSA document, along with comments from secretaries of state Dulles and Acheson), which put forward the "commies are a threat and, therefore, this is justification for overthrowing somebody else's elected government" argument. These are the paragrpahs you want to re-insert.
I note that you have failed to answer the questions posed above. I note also that you seem unwilling to compromise on any issue pertaining to the 1953 coup in Iraq. Skywriter (talk) 20:21, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your opinion. There are way too many articles on this topic [[2]] and some are way overblown. The basis of this article is an early 20th century newsletter distributed by the Pillar of Fire Church, which is both an article and a category Category:Pillar_of_Fire_Church on Wikipedia with many subtopics. The newsletter became this book and other of the books that have their own separate articles at Wikipedia. I am sure the enthusiasts who are placing these articles have good intentions but they seem to be stepping over the WP:Not line into advocacy.Skywriter (talk) 22:38, 7 January 2010 (UTC) My NegligenceI was negligent to quote a sambo joke without commentary or warning. I was an editor just passing by that Klan article when I saw it for the first time the other day. I mentioned how offensive that and some of the other stuff in the article were and you quickly agreed to change it. I have no problem with change. Change is good. Now there's an article And you are lynching Negroes where I periodically stop by to point out that what its editors perceive is a joke is no joke because there's lots of history there that is none too funny. There's little or no change there and I do have a problem with that. And they, in turn, beat me up every time I come around to comment. So, I've learned that change sometimes takes a long time. On the articles in the Pillar of Fire series, I do think they could usefully be combined, not all of them but some of them. I do think the subject is of historical interest and if I am anything it is a history buff. Combining them would actually make them stronger because it would show the relationships and get rid of the redundancies. Cheers. You have been named as a party in this request. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/1953 Iranian coup d'état and then indicate in the "Party agreement" section whether you would agree to participate in the mediation or not. Mediation is a process where a group of editors in disagreement over matters of article content are guided through discussing the issues of the dispute (and towards developing a resolution) by an uninvolved editor experienced with handling disputes (the mediator). The process is voluntary and is designed for parties who disagree in good faith and who share a common desire to resolve their differences. Further information on the MedCom is at Wikipedia:Mediation Committee; the policy the Committee will work by whilst handling your dispute is at Wikipedia:Mediation Committee/Policy; further information on Wikipedia's policy on resolving disagreements is at Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. If you would be willing to participate in the mediation of this dispute but wish for its scope to be adjusted then you may propose on the case talk page amendments or additions to the list of issues to be mediated. Any queries or concerns that you have may be directed to an active mediator of the Committee or by e-mailing the MedCom's private mailing list (click here for details). I'm sure if you look on the help page you can learn how to make a link and then editors to click to the source of the problem. This would help enormously. For example, I had no idea what this complaint above refered to until I remembered being called BoogaLuise, not by you, but by Kurdo. (I know, big deal, but it was part of a pattern that was starting to wear me down.) Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010. Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages. When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). Given that there wasn't support for including so much on this topic back in 2007 and there were concerns about the wording and you didn't attract any support when you re-added it earlier this year you need to discuss and gain consensus support for including the material you propose - you may wish to post notifications to relevant Wikiprojects seeking comments from other editors. Cheers, Nick-D (talk) 08:55, 23 September 2010 (UTC) Nick-D, the Wikipedia standard is not whether you personally agree or disagree with reliably sourced scholars. That Morison's fans are editing his bio is not justification for rejecting the findings of scholars. I sense then and sense now that your personal point of view is overtaking logic in your misguided edits. Please reconsider what you are doing. Wikipedia has never stood for the wholesale deletion of views that are reliably sourced but that particular editors prefer to remain buried. Thanks for your consideration. Not sure how many users are still active as normal Wikipedia editors but felt the need to attempt to get a gauge on who can be called on for help with articles falling under the umbrella of the African diaspora project. According to the project's article table there are over six thousand articles related to the African diaspora; there's not a hundred at FA/GA grade and there's over twelve hundred that are unassessed. With Wikipedia being one of the major information reference points in the world today we should consider this unacceptable. Much work needs to be done on the rating of the importance of articles as well. With more communication amongst participants and a dedication to addressing the articles on the to-do list I believe we can make this WikiProject one of the most well organized and thorough on the site. If you are interested in collaborative work with some of your fellow project members, have certain expertise on any particular subjects, ideals on/about the WikiProject, etc. simply drop your name under the "Project revision" section I've created on the project's talk page and state your intentions and main points of interest in our WikiProject and we can attempt to move forward from there.
