16:00, 11 Nov. 2013 update was not performed by DYKUpdateBot

FYI,

DYKUpdateBot failed to perform the scheduled update at 16:00, 11 November 2013 (UTC). Prior to the update there was an edit by an anonymous user to User:DYKUpdateBot/Errors([2]). Looks like the bot lost its session data or was otherwise logged out before the update was attempted. Will be watching to see if the recovery code kicks in for the update at midnight (UTC). --Allen3 ^talk 16:17, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Recovery code kicked in for the 00:00 (UTC) update, so DYKUpdateBot is back in business. --Allen3 ^talk 00:07, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for keeping an eye on this. When I get some more spare time, I'll try to look into why the bot didn't notice it was logged out - I thought I'd protected it against that sort of thing. DYKHousekeepingBot appears to need a restart

Looks like DYKHousekeepingBot has experienced a logout/loss of session data problem. Last edit to Wikipedia:Did you know/DYK hook count was several hours ago and was performed by an IP[3]. A restart of the bot would be appreciated. --Allen3 ^talk 10:02, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

DYKcheck Feature Request

This is just to let you know that I left a note for a feature request at User:Shubinator/DYKcheck#Ideas for development about showing the original prose size with the 5x expansion statistics. It seemed easy to implement. If you don't want to, would you mind if I implemented it? Thanks! APerson (talk!) 03:25, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Request for DYKHousekeepingBot

When it is editing the list of approved hooks, can the bot please now say approved instead of verified because the new word explains it better. [4] Rcsprinter (cackle) @ 09:50, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

"Verified" doesn't really mean anything in terms of a review. It's not clear that it means "reviewed and approved for promotion", which is what it needs to convey. Rcsprinter (parlez) @ 19:32, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

"Approved" seems too rigid though, and presumes that the nomination cannot be unapproved. I don't see a clear-cut case for "approved" over "verified", but if you feel strongly about it, feel free to start a thread on WT:DYK to gauge consensus. Shubinator (talk) 04:41, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Shubinator, I don't know whether it got caught at a gigantic 48-hour sale or stuck somewhere in inclement weather, but the last update was over 39 hours ago, at 05:22, December 16, 2013 (UTC). DYKcheck and Drafts

Hi, This is part three in my apparently ongoing series of related requests, the previous ones being in March and April 2012. This time I'm asking you to modify DYKcheck to recognize moves from the new Draft namespace. (Example move.) There's certainly no hurry to get this done. I happened to have made this request just before a flurry of activity requesting your assistance below and on WT:DYK, so I suspect it may have gotten overlooked. DYK Update bot malfunctioning on user talk pages

Shubinator, the DYKUpdate bot has been malfunctioning since the DYK sets that began about 24 hours ago. It mal-forms the template notification on the user's talk page. — Maile (talk) 13:05, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

It appears that the relevant pages in Ameliorate's user space have been undeleted, but at some point they should probably be moved to formal wikispace. Gatoclass (talk) 05:26, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, looks like the crisis has been averted. Long-term we should remove the references to Ameliorate!'s space, specifically these:

• User:Ameliorate!/DYKmake - referenced in DYKUpdateBot's code
• User:Ameliorate!/DYKnom - referenced in DYKUpdateBot's code
• User:Ameliorate!/DYKintro - referenced by {{DYKmake}} and {{DYKnom}}
• User:Ameliorate!/DYKmake-insert - referenced by {{DYKmake}}
• User:Ameliorate!/DYKnom-insert - referenced by {{DYKnom}}
• User:Ameliorate!/DYKtalkintro - referenced by {{DYKmake}}

A problem from DYKcheck?

Hello! I've created an article named Basketball at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games – Men's tournament, I used the DYKcheck on how many characters it has. It seems the DYKcheck didn't counted some words in the statistical leaders and medal winners section of the article even though they are not in a table or in a template.
