DYK 4th March 2012

William Bloomfield Douglas is cited has having a DYK entry on 4th March, however, it does not appear on the DYK recent additions list. Shipsview (talk) 11:42, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

The Recent additions page lists them by the time (UTC) they were removed from the DYK template. The Douglas hook appears in the last set under 5 March. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 18:51, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

DYK update bot failed

to update at 0 UTC 10 March (and I missed that too, Orlady updated manually). Materialscientist (talk) 04:12, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Willow (the Toolserver server) got rebooted unexpectedly around 9 hours ago. Hopefully Toolserver maintenance this week will fix these issues... (Oh, and I've restarted both bots.) Shubinator (talk) 06:02, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

DYKcheck and page moves

DYKcheck appears to no longer detect moves from userspace. I assume this is because the format of the edit summary when making a move has changed. The edit summary used to be in the form "moved oldfilename to newfilename[: reason]" and now it's "Username moved page oldfilename to newfilename[: reason]". DYK reviewers often miss such moves, so DYKcheck pointing them out is quite useful. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 09:23, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that. Now I have a related request. It would be nice if DYKcheck could also handle moves from Articles for creation. For example, a user initially disapproved an article, stating that it was "over 104 days old". This surely indicates that he did use DYKcheck, which does not mention the page move. With this recent death of this native Milwaukeean, I found the impulse to create a stub about him irresistible. I hope you will have a look and help improve it, since you've worked on ICOS.
