Image copyright problem with Image:Gerhard Ertl.JPGThank you for uploading Image:Gerhard Ertl.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 10:36, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ItsNotAbouttheBike bookcover.jpgThanks for uploading Image:ItsNotAbouttheBike bookcover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Typo redirect Vadi (disambigulation)Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Vadi (disambigulation), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Vadi (disambigulation) is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3). TithonusThanks for writing me. You must have seen the Ulysses article. However, I'm hardly able to answer your question. I think either is fine; explain the connection between the two as you have, and then be consistent in using one throughout the rest of the article. –Outriggr § 00:59, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Tata Crucible requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Shobhit102/sandbox
A tag has been placed on User:Shobhit102/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from from listed sources. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —SpacemanSpiff 08:34, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Shobhit102 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I seem to have been blocked for my contributions to the page Raghuram Rajan, which were deemed to be copyvio. It has been stated that this is due to a recurrence of copyvio. I admit I had been responsible for copyvio in my earlier contributions to the article Fault Lines: How Hidden Fractures Still Threaten the World Economy. It had been a while since I edited here, and needed a better understanding of WP policy as it stands. I perfectly understand the concern, and appreciate the earlier notification which enabled me to revisit policy. As can be seen, the current version of Fault Lines: How Hidden Fractures Still Threaten the World Economy would not any copyvio whatsoever. In this particular instance for which I have been blocked, I would like to point out that the content in question narrated a short episode in four sentences, and could only be expressed in a limited number of ways while not eliminating useful details. I would believe this would be admissible under Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing#When there are a limited number of ways to say the same thing. I also ensured there was inline citation of the original source. Please find below the content added, and the original source. If it the close paraphrasing is deemed admissible, I would request to be unblocked. The International Monetary Fund wanted to strengthen its financial expertise in the aftermath of the 1998 Asian financial crisis. American economist Anne Krueger, then the IMF’s deputy managing director, had recently read Rajan's book Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists, coauthored with Luigi Zingales, and reached out to him to understand if he would be interested in being chief economist. While Rajan seemed to harbour reservations initially, reportedly telling here, “Well, Anne, I don’t know any macroeconomics”, he flew out for an interview, and was subsequently appointed.[citation here] He was the youngest individual, and the first nonwestern, to be appointed the chief economist at the IMF. He served in the position from October 2003 to December 2006. But the IMF picked Rajan for a reason: it wanted to build up its financial expertise in the wake of the Asian financial crisis of the late 1990s. Anne Krueger, then the IMF’s second in command as first deputy managing director, had recently read a book Rajan coauthored with Luigi Zingales, Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists (2003), so she called Rajan. When asked if he would be interested in being chief economist, Rajan says he told her: “Well, Anne, I don’t know any macroeconomics.” To which Krueger joked, “Neither do I.” He decided to give it a shot and flew out for an interview. Thanks a lot! Decline reason: Block is expired.
