RCSB 15:08, 8 December 2005 (UTC) Inhibited sexual desireI recently came across your page on ISD. A discussion has engaged with respect to plagiarism of the article from the cited NIH website. I backtracked through the history and found that you initially started the article in 2003 by importing directly from the website, which explains the heavy plagiarization present in the article. I understand that it is posted on a government website so it is in the public domain, but I was wondering how this applied to posting it on a website that operates under the GFDL, particularly without directly citing the article as what it is apart from the history. I understand that this is an unaviodably common practice on wikipedia, but I felt there must be some official policy on copying material like this: "Content must not violate any copyright and must be based on verifiable sources. By editing here, you agree to license your contributions under the GFDL." I admit, this is a topic of which I am fairly unfamiliar. Your contribution to the discussion as the source of the issue as well as an admin would be appreciated. Shaggorama 05:15, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Public domain content portingEasier, yes. Especially when getting an article started. But we need to take care that it is formated to WP style. Most public domain material is written in a way that is neither neutral nor encyclopedic. And none of it is in the correct wiki format. So it will need editing - sometimes much editing - which is a skill unto itself. Have fun! -- Davodd 09:17, 14 December 2005 (UTC) The Sephirot and the Tree of lifeHello Shagogorama: See my response at both Talk:Tree of life (Kabbalah) and Talk:Sephirot (Kabbalah). Just a note on minus signs: There's a difference between - (hyphen) and − (minus), also not to be confused with – (N-dash) or — (M-dash). Be careful to replace − with the right one. You can find − on the list of characters below the edit window; it's next to ± and ×. -- Xerxes 17:50, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Oscar Zeta AcostaI am not in fact responsible for the lines in the article you quoted. The only thing I can remember contributing is the reference to the interview with Acosta's son and the quote from him, which was properly cited. Collaboration EffortHey. I am working on a project Wikiversity:School of Fire and Emergency Management. While doing my research I came across a site portal:Fire and it looks like you are one of the larger contributers. I thought I would let you know about the site and see if there are some ways we can collaborate between the two sites and work jointly. Let me know.--Mfinney 17:29, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Re: Torrent ShockingHi there, I hadn't heard of the specific term 'torrent shocking', and a couple of claims in the article seem a little suspect. However I do recall reading last year about malware spread using P2P software. See http://software.silicon.com/malware/0,3800003100,39131258,00.htm and http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20050617-5007.html for a couple of examples. Rescue SquadWell, I wasn't actually pointing you out for "being bold". I meant the other editor who just keeps complaining about little things. I think I'm going to make a DAB page tomorrow or Monday. Soon. Sometimes it's easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission. I learned that at my first fire department, ha. So I think I'm going to do that, and I'll also remove the "split" template at the top, too. I just want to run this by you before I do it. Again, I'm really busy tomorrow and most of monday, but I'll probably do it then. Thanks though for the work you've done. --MPD01605 02:29, 7 May 2006 (UTC) WikiprojectsI was just discussing with another user starting a Wikiproject: Wildland fire. Looking for a possible parent project or related projects, I noticed there is no Wikiproject: Firefighting but that you are interested in starting one. Goodness knows we need both. (There's a WikiProject on fire alarms though believe it or not...) Still interested? Dragomiloff 01:57, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
SynesthesiaHi Shaggorama, I just took a look at your profile, and I saw that you were interested in adding something about philosophical implications to the synaesthesia page (like you need more work!). I think it would be great if you were to add that to the page, and most importantly, you'll see with the other clean-up that I've done, it should be much easier. Are you familiar with the work of Jeffrey Gray, and Richard Gray (no relation that I know of) and Adam Wager? They have all published some interesting articles/debate regarding the implications of synesthesia for functionalism, color externalism, and other related topics. Edhubbard 19:59, 4 August 2006 (UTC) I posted this on my talk page, in response to your replies, but I'm not sure if you are checking that, so I wanted to repost here: Thanks. I think that's one of the cool things about wikipedia; that people come here because they care about gaining and sharing knowledge. With the amount of stuff out there, we're all experts on something, and we can share and learn from each other. Edhubbard 20:16, 6 August 2006 (UTC) Hello, I was browsing WikiPedia and noticed that you are/were a firefighter. I highly encourage you to stop by and check out our WikiProject relating to the Fire Service around the world. We are in need of many editors and administrators to help the cause. Stay safe, Daysleeper47 18:59, 12 January 2007 (UTC) A late reply.. There seems to be the potential to create sub-sections for Fire related articles, certainly those relating to the operational fire services. UK/Ireland, Europe, and US all have very different organisations. The Europeans seem to have similar hardware to each other, and aren't generally divided into truck, ladder and engine companies like the US firefighting organisations. Is there an easy way to do this? I find it daunting to look at the fire engine page and even think about the alterations that are needed! I just wanted to say that a lot a people have difficulties at first, and of course your still welcomed, by me at the very least :D. I´ve found that its usually a good idea to start with smaller edits on already written articles, like rephrasing for style, cleaning up typos or perhaps adding an extra paragraph of information. Having said that, thats not the way I started, but I did write an article on a topic that was in the news already. I think trying to establish a new topic out of different recources is certainly a worthy objective, but most definitely a very difficult thing to begin with. Hope this was of some help, and of course feel free to ask me questions on my talk page on wikinews. The German noun Seele (and its adjective seelisch) is a tricky one. In psychoanalysis, English often gives mind or psyche (sometimes even self), and it can also means soul. I found translations giving mental structure instead of psychic structure too. The fact that German (e.g. Jung) uses Psyche as well, doesn't make it any simpler. Speedy deletion of Anti-Procreation MovementA tag has been placed on Anti-Procreation Movement requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Philosophy in BrazilHi. I saw your comment about brazilian philosophers and your interest in philosophy of mind. Although I'm not the most indicated person to give you directions on that subject (because I have never studied philosophy and all I do on philosophy articles are some formatting and orthographic corrections), I have made a little research and found some info that I believe that might be useful to you:

I saw that you wrote an article about the anti-procreation movement and it was deleted for importance. I think you were right in posting the article. It has importance in the online antinatalist movements that are popping up in the cyberworld. The antinatalist view is now a cultural phenomenon that has blossomed heavily since David Benatar wrote his book Better Never to Have Been: The Harm of Coming into Existence. The antinatalist view is that humans are better off not being born (usually for reasons related to suffering of existence compared to nonexistence). Antinatalism has an article, perhaps the Anti-Procreation Movement can be merged into that article. Also, it has relevance in that it is the only modern, activist movement inspired by Schopenhauer's philosophy, as it appears to be more in line with his approach to antinatalism then to Benatar's. It also seems that the movement predates Benatar's book by a year, so its importance as an original antinatalist landmark can also deem it as having significance in the antinatalist community. The fact that it is a movement, and actively tries to seek out people to join up with the cause is also significant. Its aim seems more of an outreach and to grow awareness of the philosophy so this is also significant, as it stands out in contrast to more passive articles on the web. Schopenhauer is also an antinatalist so perhaps, he should have a prominent place in that article along with the Anti-Procreation Movement. A whole revamping of the antinatalism might be in order, that includes Schopenhauer and Anti-Procreation Movement along with possible court cases labeled "wrongful birth" and these sorts of related social topics. I do not however, have the cases right off my head. Ok, these are just some suggestions. Thanks.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hello and good afternoon (at least it is afternoon where I am). I was looking at the Wikipedian firefighters category and noticed that you are one of the members of the Wikipedia community that lists yourself as being a firefighter. First and foremost let me say thank you for your service. While I myself am not a firefighter, I do work as a photographer with multiple local fire departments. I am honored to have firefighters as some of my closest friends. I have been taking an active role in the Fire Service WikiProject and am trying to recruit more members to this cause. If this is something you have any interest in, please let me know? You can leave me a message on my talk page. Obviously there is zero obligation. An interest can be anything from helping out with a couple of pages in your local area to helping to overhaul major templates, and anything in between. Once again, thank you for your service. Hope to hear from you soon.
