It's certainly not vandalism. It is an edit that seeks to emphasise the hostility to the Rising. It is phrased in such a way as to make the hostility appear more justified, an impression that is heightened by expanding "shot and clubbed". I would say that the earlier version was more NPOV, and would restore it on that basis, but it's not by any means the worst example of POV-pushing I've seen (compare this, for instance). Gospel of Judas

I would have appreciated it if you had visited the Gospel of Judas talk page first and commented on my contribution before reverting my edits, or at least my own talk page. My source may not be acceptable to you, but I am still better informed on this than Gagne or Vermes. My intent is to induce informed commentary. I had read the talk page before I noticed that you had removed sourced content without consensus. You hadn't given any notice on the talk page that you were going to do it, so I don't see why I should post on the talk page before reverting. Just claiming that you know the truth about it, and the scholars don't, does not give you the right to undo other people's work. Scolaire (talk) 06:50, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Like I said in the note above, my intent is to induce discussion (same in my G of J talk comment, where I admit my material was rightly removed under Wiki 'rules'). You might have said something about your intention to remove my informed reversion so we could engage in informed discussion. Posting erroneous opinions (Geza Vermes and Andre Gagne) helps no one. I am familiar with all the authors commenting on the G of J. These are ill-informed 'scholars', as they all are on the Gospel of Judas. Like I said, again, I can explain this whole thing to anyone who wants to know what it means. I work full-time trying to get a hearing among scholars, so far without success. There are other valid "sources" than the ones Wiki might accept! The Wiki goal is ultimately to educate. I can do that. Well, it's important not to say he was acting for the Gaelic League. The main source says that McBride's friend knew Pearse through the League and contacted him. Given that Pearse was editor of An Claidheamh Soluis at the time, and the case was about McBride's right to write his name in Irish, I would say the connection is pretty obvious without needing to be spelled out. Honestly, don't take it to seriously. You had the bad luck of becoming the obsession of a person, that has nothing to do with you, it's just pure chance. I suggest you generally try to ignore him and don't answer him. If he reverts you or are rude or disrupts you, start an AN/I case. If he starts more cases, just point out that he is harassing you and that his claims are all imaginary. I know what you mean. Though after a while you get sucked back into it before stepping back once more. I've already had two retirements and came back in a flurry. Though in my most recent return I was likewise quickly sucked into a dispute over something I thought incredibly uncontroversial (and that includes a collapsed section almost as big as what was left uncollapsed) but turned into one of the longest wall of text disputes I've ever been in with an editor with clear WP:OWN and WP:COI issues and incredible ignorance of evidence and others views. delsort-notices

I did it manually, following the instructions on the relevant delsort pages. I'm no good with automation. I was just thinking to myself that there is no good help page for beginners to tell us what, for instance, a script is and how to use one. Scolaire (talk) 11:58, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't know what you're saying. That template isn't nominated for anything. If you want to see what I did, go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Patricia Murphy (referee), click on the two delsort links that I added and follow the instructions at the top of the page in each. The individual seasons articles linked in the template are up for deletion. So I followed what you said about clicking on the links in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Patricia Murphy (referee), they do appear on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Sports and Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Ireland pages but for some reason, even though they appear on the page they don't appear in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ireland/Article alerts except for the 2012-13 one. Ww2censor, I still don't understand. I can't see you editing any AfD page or any delsort page. Somebody else has apparently added them to the delsort pages but hasn't added the tag on the AfD page. If you read the instruction, you will see "You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Sports|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread." Substitute "Ireland" to add the second tag. Scolaire (talk) 14:01, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

Sorry if I am repeating myself. Actually I did not AfD the articles, so you won't see any of my edits for these, I just noticed only one was listed on the Ireland article alerts page even though they all appear on the delsort page. I wanted them all to be listed there so other interested editors would see it was a blanket deletion as opposed to just an isolated article AfD. I tried what you suggested and all it seems to do is add the article to the delsort pages but maybe what you did, and what I just tried as above, does not add the article to the Alert pages but only to the delsort pages. If you look at this you see the 2012-13 article is listed in the Alert pages but if you look at this the 2015 article is only listed in the Football alerts page not the Ireland even though there is a delsort tag on the page. Very odd but as I hinted, if I can't get it done I won't bother. Don't worry about it; it's not that important. ww2censor (talk) 16:33, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

On The troubles article I was of course in error, for some reason I had interpreted the numbers in the list backwards when writing about the civilian casualty ratio. Though there is no excuse for not double-checking before hitting submit. I will endeavor to be more competent in the future.

Seamus Reader

Hi Peter, Sadenia Reader here. I want to thank you for your work and offer my sincere apology for not checking with you first before I tried to fill in my details. Sorry.

I was in the BBC who were doing a thing on Wikipedia and Women. I was asked if I thought there were enough entries on Notable women. I mentioned that I was glad the Cumann na mban were in but disappointed in the fact that it was reduced to an Irish Republican venture with no reference to the many branches in the rest of the British Islands. were talking about Cumann na mban (Council of Women) I noticed that there is no 'IRELAND' in that phrase and realised that it would be more accurate to include the details about the non-Irish members of this group, and the MANY branches in Scotland and the rest of the UK. I did make a mistake. There were 14 branches in the whole of Scotland. Glasgow only had 3. Re The Falkirk branch (according to the sworn testimony of HENRY O'HAGAN in the Military Archives who recounts that) all members of the Falkirk branch were Scot born women. I dont know if you have heard of SEAMUS READER. He was Director of Lines of Communications and O/C 1st Brigade Scotland I.R.A. in 1922?

In 2011 I saved from the bin, on the death of Seamus Readers son James , (87yrs old) 15 trunk loads of papers, documents and comprehensive lists of the activities of the Social Revolutionists in between the years Seamus was alive. 1898-1969. I had no knowledge of any of this story prior to 2011. It took me 3 yrs to finally bring everything out of storage and go through the handwritten accounts. It seems he (Seamus) was working, through the 1930's 40's 50's and 60's to verify at the Dail in Dublin all the pension applications and queries that came in for men and women of Scotland who were involved in the run up to the Irish War of Indy and Civil war.

He was married to UNA MCKEOWN. Both these people were born in Glasgow, She had an Irish connection. My Gt Uncle Seamus did not. He was born to episcopalian parents. His mother died and a Lurgan stepmother married Seamus's dad. Who then gave birth in 1909 to my Grandfather Dan when Seamus was 11 and already in the Fianna na h-Alba, and the Fianna na h-Eireann in Glasgow, which developed into going through;- 1. The Dublin Lockout and collecting funds here for the families affected in Ireland . 2. The funeral of O'Donovan Rossa 3. Raids on Collieries and collecting of explosives and detonators and arms to deliver to James Connolly, Countess Markievicz and Sean McDermott. 4. Running between John McLean and James Connolly with messages and equipment from the workers who followed both men on the Clyde and like-minded revolutionaries who wished to stop conscription into European wars. 5. His meetings and connections with the Glasgow Cumann na mban and his future wife who was a member of the ANN DEVLIN branch with Margaret Skinnider and other Glaswegian Irish 'sympathizers' 6. His imprisonment in Edinburgh castle for carrying explosives and eventual 'deportation' to Reading Jail from Jan 1916 to the amnesty for political prisoners in Dec 1916 7. Becoming Commander of 'B' Coy 1st Battalion between 1917-1923 8.... Unfinished....I am now transcribing from July 1922...The Civil war....sad, sad times for this boy (Seamus is 24 years old), and me reading it all.

I am hoping to have all of it published as It shines a light on a little-recounted part of Scottish and Irish history. Its all new to me in its entirety.

Glasgow University said they would like it so would the Military Archives in Dublin.

I have kept a hold of it all because I wanted to immerse myself in this exciting tale of a young Socialistic Scot. I see the whole period as revolutionary times and nothing to do with Religion or class or country or creed. These peope have become personal to me. I know that the women were suffragettes who wished the equality promised in the Proclamation. Annie Besant was an English supporter of the Freedom from Empire of smaller nations. I feel its a shame to 'limit' the 'Council of Women' to simply 'an Irish' affair. Even though it began that way. In fact I feel I have in my livingroom, unearthed a more precise idea of this whole period.

After the executions in 1916 the younger men did not have a clear understanding of the Scot/Irish connections that pre-date history, but my Great Uncle Seamus (who I never knew), is explaining everything. I am bursting with enthusiasm for the telling of their story. Its not ONLY Irish, Its not ONLY religious, (some practiced Paratha Yoga!! 1912?!! and Theosophy).

These are groups of socialist thinkers who joined the Cumann na mban. They knew that if Ireland asserted itself once again to the cause of national freedom then the rest would follow, Scotland, India, etc.... If you like we could chat. Once again sorry for my clumsy attempt to interject. But I would like to help Wiki get it completely accurate. I imagine you are a real historian to me the amateur - I would like to know why you describe 'cumann-council' 'na mban- of women' with the title 'IRISH' womens council'?
