The VagrantHmm... in addition to being the worst movie it appears to have one of the worst articles on all of Wikipedia to boot: The Vagrant (1992). Thanks very much for your kind words. I'm quite glad I said something useful at the right time; those four FAs are absolutely stellar. It's sad to me to think that a lot of people never meet the editors like User:Awadewit, User:Qp10qp, User:WillowW, User:DrKiernan and their ilk who make this place so worthwhile. Part of what got me started contributing was seeing how good the best Wikipedia content could be, and I'm sure your work will have that same effect on other people who are Wikipedia readers now but will someday become editors. I'd definitely take you up on that offer of a free drink :) No secret that I'm in NYC and DC most of the year... if you're ever out this way, drop me a message. --JayHenry (talk) 07:43, 2 January 2008 (UTC) RE: Jimmy McAleerScartol, Thanks for your detailed feedback! I moved on your recommendations, and they improved the article. So far, the piece has received one "support" and one "oppose." The opposing reviewer argued that it includes POV content--a surprising criticism given that the article is so well referenced. After reviewing the comments, however, I sensed that the reviewer's main concern was the article's "colorful" prose. This criticism dovetails with some of your comments. I've revised the article based on feedback I've received from you and others. If you have a chance to give it a second look, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, again! -- twelsht (talk) 21:31, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
My gratitudeThank you so much for your work and incredibly helpful suggestions regarding Emily Dickinson! I greatly appreciate the time you have taken to help me, a "nobody." My gift to you for a happy, healthy and productive New Year:
You're welcome! And, okay, not a "nobody" like miss Emily then. Maybe instead I'll be a "toad" like my next project: "Think as I think," said a man, And after I had thought of it, I agree, btw, about Harold Bloom; wretched, wretched, wretched. I'll endeavor to find additional critical reception from more palatable sources to even out the old bore. :) p.s. if you're bored one day, recite "Because I could not stop for Death" to the tune of "Gilligan's Island" - hours of entertainment! María (habla conmigo) 17:39, 2 January 2008 (UTC) Emma GoldmanThank you for transforming Emma Goldman into a featured article. I'm glad I was able to help a little, but you did almost all the heavy lifting. Thanks! — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 04:42, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Happy New Year!I look forward to seeing the wonderful articles that Wikipedia's rising star is going to produce in this new year! You have made such wonderful contributions in the past few months and I wanted to make sure that you know how much they are valued. Awadewit | talk 08:31, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi there: I got your name from Wikipedia:One featured article per quarter. I've never brought an article to FA status but I think I'd like to try to improve Ellery Queen as much as possible, regardless of where it ends up. Could I prevail upon you to give me the benefit of your expertise and tell me what you think might need to happen to the article? I should note that a very small part of the article is currently the subject of a WP:Third opinion question and I will abide by the result of that, but it shouldn't affect the article in general. If this request is unwelcome or inappropriate, of course I withdraw it; any comments you make on my talk page would be welcome. Accounting4Taste:talk 04:29, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Never too late and thanks very much for taking the trouble. I noticed you were working away and thought I'd wait until you mentioned it; your emendations look great!! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I'm having a terrifically busy week in real life so haven't had time to order that book yet, but it's on my list. Accounting4Taste:talk 17:09, 9 January 2008 (UTC) Re: Tables on Joseph Johnson (publisher)Hi Scartol, Just rechecked the article, and now the tables have been separated somewhat (they were dead next to each other when I commented) the offset isn't so noticeable, although it is still there. As I said in the FAC, you don't need to treat it as actionable as we can't be required to accommodate every browser/operating system/screen resolution. That said, if you can fix it, that'd be great (apart from anything else, it'd give me an article to look at for solutions if I ever encounter the problem again ;) ). Browser is Firefox 2.0.0.11, running Windoze XP SP2, fully patched. Screen resolution is 1024x768. If it's of use, I can take a screenshot & upload it - let me know if that'd be helpful. Cheers. Copyediting RequestHi. Meerkat Manor is currently a candidate for Featured Article. As part of the feedback, it was recommended that I ask someone who has experience as a copy editor go over the article to give it a prose check and iron out any writing issues. I found your name at WP:1FAPQ#Project resources and was wondering if you would have time to give the article a going over to help give it the final tweaks it needs to pass FA muster? Collectonian (talk) 15:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC) Peer Review - Person Centred PlanningPerson Centred Planning is up for peer review. I suspect this subject will be something that you in particular will find intriguing enough to spend some time reviewing. I hope so! Max (talk) 17:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC) copy editingI noticed that the copy editor is in. I would like to make a request on behalf of an article. I just reviewed Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. While reviewing, I did some copy editing, but more is needed. I consider what I did a "first pass". The article needs a second pass and a bit of reorganization. If you are up for it, it is obviously a worthy topic. :) Awadewit | talk 07:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
re:Signpost tutorialWe have the schedule planned out till june so far and the issue planned for March 31 is planned to focus on templates. It is being written byUser:Phoenix-wiki, so feel free to give him a buzz. The Placebo Effect (talk) 19:53, 17 January 2008 (UTC) RE: Tutorial on templatesHello there. The Placebo Effect told me you were preparing the Signpost's tutorial on templates. I just wanted to let you know that I recently wrote up a tutorial on the subject; you're welcome to quote from, reprint (all or part), or link to this if you like. Cheers. – Scartol • Tok 20:31, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi and friendly favourHey, hey friend o' mine! I'm sorry if my reply at the FAC for Joseph Johnson seemed unappreciative; I didn't mean it that way! I was really touched by your comment, although Awadewit deserves most of the credit. I was only trying to say that our articles should be judged like everyone else's; we make mistakes like everyone else, and we'd appreciate them being amended, like everyone else. Now I have a favor to ask! I've been teaching myself Blender, which is an open-source program for making 3D animations, among other things. My first goal was to make an animation of planetary motion, which you see at the left, and which I'd like to add to some of those pages. How does it look to you? Is there anything "funny"? Can you think of some way it could be improved? I'd very much appreciate any help or insights you had. Muchas gracias, mi amigo, Willow (talk) 18:22, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I need help entering my project: KidCast for Peace; Solutions for a Better WorldHello, I have been trying to get the powers that be to allow the inclusion of a page entitle: KidCast or KidCast for Peace: The idea of Kids broadCasting to the Adults came to me in 1995. I proceeded to invent a game for children and teachers mentors to play wherein the kids learn about different cultures and peace by making art and making contact with peers in other countries via CUSeeMe Video Conferencing at a time when this was innovative on the Net: 1994 (was our first use of the medium the year before KidCast was born).

GoriotIt will take me a while to get to it, because I have some other reviews to do first and I am pretty slow. But it's on my list. qp10qp (talk) 22:08, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Help With Technical StuffHey! :) Right now, I do not need help with technical stuff on the portal, but if I do I'll let you know. However, Could you help me with my userpage? I think it looks rather bland, but maybe its just me. --Grrrlriot (talk) 02:47, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
proposed Indonesian occupation of East TimorHi - just want to say I look forward to reading this article. I can understand that you are busy and that thesee things take time. Good luck. Awadewit | talk 19:08, 21 January 2008 (UTC) Review of Le Père GoriotHi Scartol, I went though Le Père Goriot and it reads wonderfully as always; you have a gift for rich, satisfying prose! :) I made a few amendments at places where the text seemed ambiguous (to me), which you should check to make sure they're OK. Hoping that they helped and looking forward to your next project, :) Willow (talk) 22:07, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
At your serviceI'd love to review Le Père Goriot. I'm not sure what kind of assistance I can offer if Awadewit and now Willow have already gone over it, but I'm flattered that you've asked me. It may have to wait until tomorrow, however; I have class until late tonight and I'll probably be too exhausted from Nietzsche to take on Balzac. ;) María (habla conmigo) 17:26, 22 January 2008 (UTC) Re: R.E.M. This would cover the works of many well-known authors, including Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Victor Hugo and Leo Tolstoy. If you think you'd be interested in supporting or participating in the task force, please let me know. Cheers. – Liveste [talk • contrib] 23:58, 24 January 2008 (UTC) VädersolstavlanHello,
Problem with Emma Goldman referencesPlease see discussion here. Thanks! P.S. - I remember this issue occurred before with the Drinnon citations as well. It might be a good idea for you to get in the habit of including book names in your citations by default, as you never know when some other editor might come along and add a new book to the references by the same author. Kaldari (talk) 19:11, 25 January 2008 (UTC) Request for peer reviewHi, I saw your name on the wikipedia:peer review volunteer page. I'm currently working on a science article called the Kardashev Scale, the page has gone through a lot of changes in the last 3 months, some of them reverts that I wish to overturn. I've sent out some notices to people who have worked on the page previously but I'm having problems getting open opinions and feedback. Their ideas about what they want the article to be about and look like are pretty set. I need outside opinion. In my opinion the Kardashev scale has 3 primary interests:
My primary goals are in advancing the content area of number 2 and diminishing the fictional content. After all, it is a scientific not a fictional topic. My secondary goals are to find and add published content on the extension of the scale. The feedback I have gotten is pretty much divided between goals 1 or 3. And I don't want to create a editing war! So please read the article and the discussion page and tell me what you think!!
Thx--Sparkygravity (talk) 18:44, 26 January 2008 (UTC) Heroes peer reviewI noticed that your user name was on the Wikipedia:Peer review/volunteers list. I was wondering if you could take some time out of your schedule to head over to the Heroes (TV series) talkpage and give us an honest peer review. The page has gone through some major changes in the last few months, and it would be fantastic if a prominent editor/contributor like yourself, could head over and give us at the Heroes Wikiproject some sound opinion and ideas on improvements for the page. We have all worked very hard at improving the page, and we need great outside, reliable and trustworthy users to come over and help us improve. I you are interested in joining the peer review discussion with other prominent users/contributors, much like yourself, please follow the link. Thank you very much for your help and your continued effort to improve Wikipedia and its quality! Balzac BibliographyHave you seen this Balzac bibliography? Bibliography of Balzac criticism, 1930-1990 edited by Mark W. Waggoner - it sounds a bit more recent than the one you recently bought. Awadewit | talk 20:29, 28 January 2008 (UTC) Some citations for Le Père Goriot. I think perhaps a little more research is needed for Balzac's "greatest" novel - :). Here are some more sources I found in my quest. I hope they are helpful. Awadewit | talk 20:50, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

I think this article can be a good or featured article, especially since Atlantium's website has more than enough information and User:Gene Poole is the emperor. Could you please help us improve the article? I'll see if I can find other editors to help. Thanks, |
