User talk:SP-KP/Talk page archive 2009 cDYK for Ham Hill, WiltshireGatoclass 14:36, 1 July 2009 (UTC) Endemic bird issueFirst of all, thanks for your kind comment at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 July 12 re Shetland. Secondly, I note your interests in Bidodiversity in Britain and endemism and wonder if I can borrow your expertise. There was a minor kefuffle at Fauna of Scotland recently about the status of the Scottish Crossbill. My original edit was to the effect that it is the only endemic vertebrate in Britain, but I can't lay my hands on the original source I saw this in. I did trawls of the web and could only come up with a roundabout method of showing it was the BI's only "endemic terrestrial vertebrate" by eliminating the other candidates. I'm not aware of any endemic marine vertebrates although I have not found a site that confirms this. It occurred to me you might have access to a decent source on this subject. No problem if not. I know how you enjoy conservational organisation so I'm sure you'll enjoy filling in the UK BAP habitats. Cheers, Jack (talk) 15:52, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

BBRCI went through the article and fixed some problems I saw. I left a list of follow-up questions on the article talk page. --Andy Walsh (talk) 21:38, 21 September 2009 (UTC) |
