I enjoyed your entry on Ernest II, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
I have a question if I may - on 05:27, 4 September 2010 you added "KJ" to his honors and titles for The Order of Saint Joachim. Do you recall the source of this reference?

Hey, I have a favor to ask. I don't know if you watch the show Adventure Time, but I've been working on getting the episode list up to FL. Is there anyway you could pop on over to the page and vote/comment etc? I'm having a hard time getting anyone to comment on it, and I based it off of similar lists, like the one for The X-Files. Thanks!--Gen. Quon(Talk)16:24, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
Sure thing. I was actually reading your AT list a few weeks ago, as I am planning an eventual expansion of the Fringe episodes list. It looked good then, but I'll jump in and add a comment or two for your FLC. Thanks, Ruby2010/201317:41, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Christine, it appears that there still remains the point about the publications list. Please respond on the review page when you get a chance. Thanks, Ruby2010/201323:05, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
No, a merge would be introducing some content that is already in the parent article. The score seems notable to stand on its own anyway, apparent by the media coverage and major award nominations. Ruby2010/201300:50, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
On 14 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Georgiana Spencer, Countess Spencer, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that during his 1755 birthday party attended by five hundred people, John Spencer secretly married Georgiana Poyntz in an upstairs bedroom? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

WikiProject Good Articles December 2013 Backlog Drive
Hi everyone, I've noticed that a few of you haven't updated your totals as several reviews have passed but on the backlog page, it still says that the article is under review or on hold.
Please update your totals and continue to do so until February 1. If the status of a review is under review or on hold according to the backlog page, even though the article may have passed/failed, it will not count towards your final total.
For those that made pledges during the drive, the final donation amount will be determined sometime in February.
The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.
Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! 2. this line has been redirect, the author went to William Ruhlmann, not Jon O'Brien anymore: Ruhlmann, William. "Pride & Prejudice [Original Score]". AllMusic. Archived from the original on 2013-06-24. Retrieved 2014-02-07. {{cite web}}: Unknown parameter |deadurl= ignored (|url-status= suggested) (help)CS1 maint: ref duplicates default (link)
I'm consider change the link NO. 2 to replace NO. 1, but I can not found the article written by Jon O'Brien, could you help me out here? Thank you so much.--Jarodalien (talk) 09:42, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi there! I saw your work on translating Sense and Sensibility and was impressed by your effort! I've looked into the two links -- the Billboard is dead and the Wayback Machine unfortunately doesn't have it. I see that Ruhlmann's review is now at AllMusic -- I'm not sure what happened to O'Brien's review. Weird. Like you said, you may just have to replace the Ruhlmann review with this and remove the O'Brien content entirely from your translation. Or you could keep the content intact and just cite it with the current deadlinks. Thanks. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I hope that you keep up the good work! Ruby2010/201319:30, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
Greetings! I'm looking over your DYK submission. I have JSTOR access, so I'm able to read both Lewis and Pocock & Cook. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see anything in either source for James Lawes being "the richest," although we certainly have support for "most eligible."— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 23:55, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for reading. I combed through my sources and while I cannot find any that specifically say James Lawes was one of the richest men, he most certainly was due to his father. But because this is not directly mentioned in the sources, I have removed that part of the sentence. Thanks, Ruby2010/201300:35, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
It's that time again! Starting on March 1, there will be another GAN Backlog Drive! There will be several changes compared to previous drives:
This drive will introduce a new component to it; a point system. In a nutshell, older nominations are worth more points than newer nominations. The top 3 participants who have the points will be awarded the Golden, Silver, or Bronze Wikipedia Puzzle Piece Trophy, respectively.
Unlike the December 2013 Backlog Drive, earning an additional barnstar if you reached your goal has been removed.
The allowance to have insufficient reviews has been lowered to 2 before being disqualified.
An exception to the rule that all reviews must be completed before the deadline has been created.
Also, something that I thought I would share with all of you is that we raised $20.88 (USD) for the WMF in the December 2013 drive. It may not sound like a lot but considering that that was raised just because we reviewed articles, I would say that's pretty good! With that success, pledges can be made for the upcoming drive if you wish.
More info regarding the drive and full descriptions regarding the changes to this drive can be found on the the drive page. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on the drive talk page.
I look forward to your participation and hope that because of it, some day the backlog will be gone!
And so ends the most competitive first round we have ever seen, with 38 points required to qualify for round 2. Last year, 19 points secured a place; before that, 11 (2012) or 8 (2011) were enough. This is both a blessing and a curse. While it shows the vigourous good health of the competition, it also means that we have already lost many worthy competitors. Our top three scorers were:
Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer whose high-quality scans of rare banknotes represent an unusual, interesting and valuable contribution to Wikipedia. Most of Godot's points this round have come from a large set of pictures used in Treasury Note (1890–91).
Adam Cuerden (submissions), a WikiCup veteran and a finalist last year, Adam is also a featured picture specialist, focusing on the restoration of historical images. This month's promotions have included a carefully restored set of artist William Russell Flint's work.
Hahc21 (submissions), who helped take Thirty Flights of Loving through good article candidates and featured article candidates, claiming the first first featured article of the competition.
Cwmhiraeth (submissions), who takes the title of the contributor awarded the highest bonus point multiplier (resulting in the highest scoring article) of the competition so far. Her high-importance salamander, now a good article, scored 108 points.
After such a competitive first round, expect the second round to also be fiercely fought. Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 1 but before the start of round 2 can be claimed in round 2, but please do not update your submission page until March (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally.
Good luck! Well, I've already been eliminated from the competition, so I now wish you the best of luck! Any works in progress related to Fiona Apple, or the Fringe (season 4) and Once Upon a Time (season 1) good topics? If so, I'll be watching! :) --Another Believer(Talk)18:55, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Oh no! I thought for sure you'd make it to the next round. Aww well, there's always next year. :) I know I don't stand a chance of winning, but I'll try to get as far as I can. I'm currently working on the OUAT S1 good topic, and am also working on an expansion of the Girl with a Pearl Earring film article (I'd provide a link but I'm using my phone). We'll see where it all leads! Ruby2010/201300:27, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I had noticed! I think it's great that others are showing such interest. That project really fell down on my priority list as I thought of other things, but who knows? Perhaps I'll work on an episode or two later this year. Ruby2010/201301:36, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
P.S. I know you opposed Walkabout (Lost) for FA, but maybe we can work together to get it there :D?
I've definitely considered it! :) I haven't worked on a Lost article for a few years (not really sure why, if for no other reason than I got sidetracked with so many other projects). If we had enough people invested, I would love for a project on the scale of The X-Files (one of the most amazing works of collaboration I've seen on this site). However I will say, looking forward, that articles like "Tabula Rasa" and "Walkabout" probably should be a bit more comprehensive than their current state, given the wide range of literature out there. What are your thoughts? Ruby2010/201303:08, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
From what I've seen, as the show gained popularity, much more discussion/writing/reviews came out of it. I shouldn't have nominated Walkabout that early for FA, but I certainly think that it and Tabula Rasa are GA-worthy. I've been Googling for awhile trying to find more information, but it ain't easy this early in the show. -Newyorkadam (talk) 11:18, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Newyorkadam
I noticed your edit on Walkabout (Lost)- I don't see any other Lost episode FAs with sections like 'Themes and analysis' and 'Significance and legacy'. I'm not saying these sections aren't helpful, I'm sure viewers would like to see them-- but why don't any other episodes have these sections? -Newyorkadam (talk) 00:48, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Newyorkadam
Hey, so I thought of you as I started working on Divergent (novel) the recent publicity in response to the movie, has been creating a recent surge of views, and the content is rather poor. Would you be interested in helping me work on it> It's a fairly easy read (and can email you an unlocked epub that reads well if you need), and I am starting to ad scholarship and trim the plot now. I am doing this to spend a little time not working on my normal scholarship, (i.e. the Heyer novels, etc). Anyway, hope you are well, and happy editing, Sadads (talk) 19:06, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Hi there! That's actually a book I've considered reading for a while now (I have a few friends who have been recommending it). So, it'd be great if you could send it my way. :) I don't think I will edit the article until I've read it (for fear of spoilers... but if I can get it read quickly I might be able to help you with the page). Thanks, Ruby2010/201321:34, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
I am only a couple hours into reading (while tired), and am over 120 pages in the epub. Its a light, compelling read like Hunger Games (though I don't think quite as thriller-esque). I am going to keep poking at it over the next few or so, and see if I can get through the novel. Its interesting and I am interested that the novel page is drawing so many readers. I definitely will try to piece together more scholarship as I work through the article, Sadads (talk) 21:56, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Hey I hope you are doing well. I placed Divergent (novel) on GAN, so would appreciate help as that comes along. I will try to pick up My Lord John later in the week if I am not to busy, and no-one else takes the review. Also, working on getting some of the literature databases and Project Muse at the WP:TWL, so if you are still without access to some of the databases, you will probably be able to get access through those soon! Best of luck, and happy editing! Sadads (talk) 03:36, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi, good to hear from you! Wow, the Divergent article is looking great! Especially when compared to my more modest effort in My Lord John (I've struggled with the analysis/themes section there). I have to admit that it was difficult to get through both aforementioned novels, to my surprise since they are in genres I enjoy. So I apologize for not helping out at Divergent (I put off finishing the book, and then sort of forgot about it - I'm not really sure why I couldn't get into it, but I hope to give it another chance soon). Since I did finish it, I would be happy to look the article over (but once again, I don't feel qualified enough to review it! It seems to me that you need a real lit person to justly give it a true review).
I will definitely be keeping a close eye on TWL. What a great opportunity! Thank you for all the effort you put in there and elsewhere, truly. (Sent from iPad so apologies in advance for any errors). Ruby2010/201304:06, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Girl with a Pearl Earring (film) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Shoebox2 -- Shoebox2(talk)22:10, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
A quick update as we are half way through round two of this year's competition. WikiCup newcomer Godot13 (submissions) (Pool E) leads, having produced a massive set of featured pictures for Silver certificate (United States), an article also brought to featured list status. Former finalist Adam Cuerden (submissions) (Pool G) is in second, which he owes mostly to his work with historical images, including a number of images from Urania's Mirror, an article also brought to good status. 2010 champion (Pool C) is third overall, thanks to contributions relating to naval history, including the newly featured Japanese battleship Nagato. Cliftonian (submissions), who currently leads Pool A and is sixth overall, takes the title for the highest scoring individual article of the competition so far, with the top importance featured article Ian Smith.
With 26 people having already scored over 100 points, it is likely that well over 100 points will be needed to secure a place in round 3. Recent years have required 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) and 100 (2010). Remember that only 64 will progress to round 3 at the end of April. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page; if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally. Hi there- this is just a quick note to apologise for a small but important mistake in the last WikiCup newsletter; it is not 64 users who will progress to the next round, but 32. J Milburn (talk) 18:48, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your long-term contributions to DYK and GA, especially in the areas of film, television, and nobility. Wikipedia needs more editors like you! Zanhe (talk) 01:14, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
I've just substantially expanded this article and would like a copyeditor to give it a good final polish, as I plan to eventually take it to the levels of a GA and FA. Thanks in advance! Ruby2010/201303:28, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
Done. Nothing to do with copy editing, but in the lead section there are these two sentences: "In this, which was his feature film debut, Webber sought to avoid employing traditional characteristics of the period film drama. Cinematographer Eduardo Serra used distinctive lighting and colour schemes similar to Vermeer's paintings." Is the second linked to the first? In other words did Serra make that choice based on Webber’s avoidance of traditional characteristics? If so, you might want to change the period between the two sentences to a semi-colon to show their connection. If not, then its fine. Onel5969 (talk) 19:36, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
On 26 April 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Last Arrow, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that The Last Arrow was praised for its "inventive re-imagining" of the Robin Hood legend, although one reviewer felt that its "sadistic sexual torture may offend some"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Last Arrow. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Hi, Ruby! Given your success in promoting the Minnesota list to FL status, I thought I would point out List of Idaho state symbols. If you are interested, this would be a pretty easy list to complete then nominate for FL status. I was working on it once, but never found time to complete it. I just came across it again and thought of you. Again, just if you are interested and want points for the WikiCup! Best, --Another Believer(Talk)16:50, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
Hmmm... perhaps sometime in the future (for both your suggestions). Currently I'm trying to get the Indiana colleges list to FL (though it's been difficult to find the enthusiasm for it). I tend to bounce around topics to avoid getting bored, so I'll keep your two suggestions in mind! :) Ruby2010/201322:52, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.
