You mean well, but please do some real work instead of requesting to become a duke or create a guestbook. If you want something to do, go here. Griffinofwales (talk) 22:22, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I would like to say that you did a very nice job with Jimbo's guestbook. It was not a very productive waste of time, but it looks good and you made Wikipedia's God-King happy. Griffinofwales (talk) 23:58, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
The God-King wants flowers and ponies on his guestbook. Since you are in line to become a duke, I would suggest you start now (I am happy enough to be a loyal servant [the higher the rank, the more work]). Griffinofwales (talk) 02:04, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
I mean this in a jokish tone - you love sucking up to the King, don't you? Just look at your templates! Well, you have a sucking-up rival now - ME. See you when I'm Sir Rory , 1st Knight of Wikidom and you're a measly Earl of Wikidom. It's on! Rory (reply on talk!) (talk) 09:11, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Admittedly I do like to help the king of Wikipedia as much as I can; though I only used the templates because I just loved the layout of the page with the colours etc. Anyway, the dark side of the Force will be watching you! :) Ross Rhodes (TC) Sign!09:46, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh really? (taunts) Here comes my atomic bomb. (gets call to realise it's going to be 15 hours late) Oh dammit! Oh well... (opens fire on Commander Download!, severely injuring him) Hah! Try and stop me now! (turns into Pikachu and dashes off) Rory (reply on talk!) (talk) 09:56, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
It really good. Thanks again. Just one thing; you recommended that I put a link on my userpage to let people know about my guestbook, though I'm not sure how to do this, so can you do it? P-Real DA deal (talk) 17:49, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright, its done now. I've added large text at the top of your userpage saying to please sign your guestbook. Anyone who looks at your page will most likely sign your guestbook now. Ross Rhodes (TC) Sign!18:09, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Sure, just add '{{Archive box|image=[[Image:Replacement filing cabinet.svg|75px]] |{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis |archiveprefix=User talk:Ross Rhodes/Archives/ |format=Y/F |age=48 |index=yes }} }}' at the top of the page, that way ClueBot III will archive any discussions two days old.
Well, I'm not sure why it hasn't done so. Are you sure nobody has edited that section in the last two days? You should check out the revision history of the page and see if anyone has edited that section recently. Ross Rhodes (TC) Sign!14:57, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Yup, I made the sig.. though ClueBot III still hasn't archived the message yet! I'll wait another day to see if it does it then, 'cause I've edited the discussion once. -SubashChandran007׀sign!15:25, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Just delete the two messages then if you don't want them. Obviously the bot won't archive it for a good reason, or its malfunctioning. You might want to report the problem to ClueBot III's talk page, just to let the creator know about the issue, and perhaps he or she will explain why it hasn't archived the two messages. So you've been on Wikipedia a year today! Happy wiki-birthday, and I hope the next year on the 'pedia treats you as well as this one. All the best, – Quadell(talk)20:37, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Sure! I copied them off other pages so I don't see why you can't copy them off my page. Can you sign my guestbook too while you copy the images? That would be great. Also, please do remember to sign your comments with the four tides (~~~~). Ross Rhodes (TC) Sign!14:59, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Best article ever contest
Ross Rhodes I'm ready to roll. Let me know when you're ready. I supported your idea based on the obviousness of its sound logical basis, clear good intentions and positivity, and now after reading the debate I am 100% convinced it is a fantastic idea. Are we going to set it up in your userspace? Let me know what your plans are. Bacon Challenge 2009 is wrapping up, so hopefully I'll have time to devote to helping you make it happen ASAP. I have a pretty good idea for how it will all work, but of course I'm flexible and recognize that you gave birth to the concept so you are entitled to some small modicum of input. I think calling it The Barnstar-Strewn Mutual Backslapping Festival sounds fun, but maybe there are editors who won't enjoy the humor of that good natured moniker. ChildofMidnight (talk) 03:36, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, I only came up with the idea. Since you seem to have a very good idea of what to do, I propose you do the major stuff (and become the manager or something). I'm saying this due to not having much of an idea on what to do, though I'm willing to help when needed. Ross Rhodes (TC) Sign!14:57, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Okay. As it didn't receieve consensus support as an official endeavor, it will have to be in a user subpage. Are you willing/ wanting to host it? What shall we call the thing (of course it can always be moved)? Once named and started, it will progress naturally from there with the inertial movement that is progress once set in motion. :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:38, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Sure, we can create a subpage for it. How about we just simply call it Article of the Year for now, and, as you said, can move it if we need to (How about we call the subpage User:Ross Rhodes/Article of the Year compitition). About the host part, I'm not so sure on what I would do, how about we ask users (or make an advertisement) if they want to host, and decide which is the best for it? Ross Rhodes (TC) Sign!19:05, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
No problem! I just wanted to help. You have made a really good suggestion which I think has a good chance of being created. Ross Rhodes (TC) Sign!21:47, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
