I very much appreciate all the copyediting you've been doing lately! However, with Harvard station, would you be okay with waiting until I'm finished with the article (probably another week or so)? There's two basic ways to do it. Manually, you just cut-and-paste a bunch of threads to User talk:Reify-tech/Archive 1 and so on. That's how I do it; it's quick and easy, and I can choose exactly which discussions. (I delete old bot notifications and event notifications). With a bot, you put a template at the top of the page, and the bot does all the archiving for you. It takes a couple minutes to set up, but then it's all automatic. Per your advice, I did a massive cut-and-paste to a new archive file. At my leisure, I will delete old routine bot messages and newsletter notifications. If I had realized it was this easy, I would have done it long ago!

Although I consider myself a seasoned editor by now, I still have much to learn about Wikipedia, especially concerning practical shortcuts and obscure tweaks. I thank you for your welcoming hospitality years ago, and your still-helpful attitude today. Harry Weese Wikipedia page

Why do you think you own the content of a page of a person you do not know? The family of Harry Weese does not consider him an alcoholic and he never lost his reputation due to alcoholism lost work due to alcoholism or was an alcoholic. That is a complete fabrication cited by one person that had an axe to grind with him. As a family member I am trying to correcting this record. He was never treated or lost his reputation due to alcoholism. Did he drink? Yes, but no more than any person of his generation. You do not own this content and have no right to this non passive voice. It’s not censorship as you are claiming it is a fact and the article you cite is not true, it was just published. That does not make the content true. I consider your changing this fact back “vandalism’ and will move to have you barred from putting this content on wikipedia legally. There is no truth to it. Don't project your evidently strong feelings about the Wikipedia article which you have some kind of personal connection with. Your argument is with Wikipedia policy, not with me, and you should air your views on the Talkpage (Talk:Harry Weese). This will give all editors interested in the article a chance to participate in an open discussion. I am far from the first or only editor to restore the information now sourced from multiple references, which you unilaterally deleted several times without any discussion at all. I did not write the paragraph you object to; I only restored it after you abruptly deleted it, and I added another referenced footnote. My other editing of the article was to add more information about Weese's accomplishments and recognition through awards.

I don't why you picked me for your attack, while ignoring several other editors who also disagreed with your peremptory actions. I do not make the rules here, and even disagree with some of them, but I try to comply because I do not "own" Wikipedia or any of its content.

Template:Use American English documentation

Hi there. Examining the documentation for Template:Use American English, I came across this line, The template automatically substitutes the words "article" or "template", depending on where it is placed.[1] But since it's an invisible template, I don't see that feature. Thank you for the notice, though I'm not sure why you sent it to me. I very occasionally have used the template, but don't recall editing it or its documentation. The template is visible to editors in the Wikisource code after it has been saved once, though it is not visible in the standard reader view. The feature of autoselecting "article" or "template" seems like a flourish. otherwise harmless, as long as it is documented. Reify-tech (talk) 21:07, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for not following your diff link earlier; it certainly appears as if I did add that some 6 years ago, though I don't remember doing so. I honestly don't recall observing that behavior or commenting on it; it is also possible that the template code has been modified in the intervening years so that this is no longer true (if it ever was).

The bottom line is that I see no problem with your removing that statement of behavior from the documentation, especially if you currently see no evidence for it in the template source code (I'm not sure I even know how to look at it myself). I am frankly puzzled by this odd situation; you have handled it correctly, and I thank you for your courtesy in bringing it to my attention. Reify-tech (talk) 04:12, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:East Side Trolley Tunnel images

You left a note requesting an image of the warning-signage. It seems quite visible in Pvdbustunnel.JPG (infobox) and visible but partially cut off in File:Providence20June071914ShelterTunnel.jpg (gallery). Are those the signs you have in mind? Both of those images are quite large and high-resolution, so it would be easy to crop a section of interest if you wanted a separate one of the signs. Yes, I was hoping for higher-resolution images of both the east and west portals. The west portal picture partially crops the signage at the edge of the frame, and the signage of both pictures is a bit blurry. No big deal, but lots of people go by there every day. Also, I just noticed on Google Maps Street View that the signage has been changed in the years since the Wikimedia pictures, though the Google pix are blurry and it's hard to make out the wording on the newer signs. Thank you for finding the Uprise RI article, which somehow I missed in my search results. The article contains a wealth of information, much of which will be useful for Wikipedia. The accompanying photos are very interesting as well, and the one you highlighted is exactly the shot I was hoping for; I doubt it is rights-cleared, but getting another shot similar to it should be straightforward to a photographer who is on-site. This is clear evidence that skateboards are explicitly banned from the tunnel. I have never had, and have no present connection with WGBH or its employees, other than having an ordinary WGBH membership as a local viewer living in Boston. I have no special sources of information, other than what is readily available to the public. If I have been WP:BOLD in my recent edits to the article WGBH-TV, it is only because I could see that the article's readability, organization, and logical flow could be improved. I also linked it to the existing article on Hartford N. Gunn Jr., but made minimal changes to the latter article, other than flagging specific items needing improvement. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
