Re: The Odd Couple (1970 TV series)

Hi RA, thanks for correcting me about not using YouTube as a reference. But I was wondering - is it possible to somehow reference the YouTube link, not as a source, but to link to the media in question so a reader who might like to watch the clip of the tv episode can go to it easily on YouTube, or is that just not appropriate here? @Dhorowitz: Hi and thanks for your message! I appreciate your intention about wanting to help users find external content, but under Wikipedia's policy on external links (see WP:EL) that wouldn't be an appropriate use of an external link. This is primarily because of issues related to copyright due to a risk of people linking to content that may have been uploaded to sites like YouTube illegally. Hope this helps! Hi there! I appreciate what you all do over there. I'm a big supporter of Wikipedia.

I am a professional writer who writes for magazines about the touring concert business. I get to interview and write about a lot of folks who make touring happen. I am writing about Chris Adamson, who appeared on Dark Side of the Moon. I linked Chris' name to an article I wrote that verifies what I added, and also lets people know a bit more about them. Is that not appropriate?

@Kevin M Mitchell: Hi Kevin, thanks for your message. I reverted your edit because you added an external link to the words "Chris Adamson" because it is Wikipedia policy to avoid external links in the body of the article.
