Wikipedian linguists category changeHi Psychonaut. I just noticed your edit of Category:Wikipedian linguists to remove the fields of interest designation. I originally created the category with only Category:Wikipedians by fields of interest as a parent since I don't believe most trained linguists ever actually "work" as linguists. I always had the impression that most trained linguists got other sorts of jobs. Subsequent to my creating the category, a number of people added themselves and then somebody added Category:Wikipedians by profession as a parent. Now that you've removed Category:Wikipedians by fields of interest as a parent, it sucks for me since I don't belong in the category anymore (I'm only a former linguistics student and amateur linguist). I wouldn't be surprised if there are others in the category in the same situation. Did you intend for someone to create Category:Wikipedians interested in linguistics? What about letting the miscategorized folks know about your change? I only saw your change because I created the category page and had a watch on it. Also, you didn't change the navbox at the top of the page to have the profession category as a parent. Please let me know if you'd strongly object to my reverting your changes. JarlaxleArtemis unbannedJust a heads up...you had participated in the arbitration case against JarlaxleArtemis. Linuxbeak has since unbanned him, saying that Jarlaxle had apologized. Just wanted to make sure you knew. Ral315 (talk) 09:42, 13 November 2005 (UTC) Are you sure this person is running a bot? It does not seem like it...I have been following his/her edits all night long...very quick welcomes, but still, it's not impossible to do so I think. --HappyCamper 03:32, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Pope LinusHello, Psychonaut...I appreciate your help on the Pope Linus page...but will revert it and open up a discussion on it's talk page. If a consensus is reached I will gladly change it back to your version. :D Thanks, Chooserr CopyrightI would like to start by thanking you for your help. I was mistaken in the fact that I thought GNU meant General Use...don't know why. I didn't mean to cause any problems, and have added my opinion to one of the pics no longer used. As for The Noa gif...delete it, and if you want the Baby in the womb one too for that isn't my image but one someone uploaded to replace the original. Chooserr The only image that I believe shouldn't be deleted would be the Suffrajep.jpg one. I wasn't given permission to use it but to the best of my knowledge it is uncopyrighted. I don't see one thing on their website saying Images are copyrighted. And this image is IMHO very important...Chooserr User categorisationYou were listed on the Wikipedia:Wikipedians by alma mater page. I came here because of your vote on my RFA. I wanted to clear the air with everyone who voted oppose because of the link provided by Howcheng and freestylefrappe. I am sorry for ever posting that version of my user page. I really can't control my temper or actions at all, I'm Bipolar. I never meant to use "gay" as an insult, call anyone "gay", or hurt anyone's feelings. I am not trying to pursuade your or anyone elses vote but I would like for every one to think of me better than worse. — Moe ε 15:05, 18 December 2005 (UTC) In your delete rationale, you stated: No matter how the message is worded, it's going to smack of asserting ownership over an article and discourage others from contributing. The template now includes the following statement:
The current form may not be perfect, but it's a big improvement. Please consider at least switching to neutral, as the template's biggest opponents have. Thanks. — 0918BRIAN • 2005-12-19 00:11 Vandalism? Are (you) accusing me of vandalism? I can't believe that (you) would do such a (thing), especially since my (edits) were completely justified. Think before (you) speak. Chooserr 07:55, 22 December 2005 (UTC) Nonsensical pronunciation info? What is so nonsensical about the following?
You might object to the quasi-speculation about the increasing tendency of folks to pronounce "grimace" that way [2], but there is a clear difference between the name of Grimace, the McDonaldland character, and the traditional pronunciation of the word grimace ("gri-MACE"); not all dictionaries, or English teachers for that matter, accept "GRI-muss" as correct. It follows that the pronunciation of his name ought to be mentioned. If you have a better way of phrasing this, please do so. And if you simply didn't know how "grimace" was pronounced, Grimace may indeed be to blame. ProhibitOnions 19:11, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

It seems you have been attending the University of Toronto at some point. It might interest you to know that we are trying to form a list of people interested in formaing a local chapter for Canada at Wikimedia Canada. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization within Canada. Even if you are not living in Canada, if you're interested, you could think about it.--DarkEvil 15:00, 5 February 2006 (UTC) Hi, please turn this gallery (or at least all the fair use images on it) into a list of links instead or something like that as soon as possible. Wikipedia policy doesn't allow fair use images to be displayed in userspace (see Wikipedia:Fair use#Fair use policy), and acording to this report you have 33 of them on that page (if you have fair use images on other userspace pages please fix those too). I'm working pretty much at random off that list, so don't feel singled out if others on the list with more images have not yet been notified. Eventualy I'll get around to them all (though hopefully I'm not the only one working on it). Thanks in advance. --Sherool (talk) 01:47, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
I renamed this from Hahn [Unicode dash character] Banach theorem to Hahn [ascii hyphen] Banach theorem thinking the previous name was accidental, like someone pasting it from MS Word. I noticed afterwards that you'd changed it on purpose. Was there some reason for that? The hyphen is much more conventional and easier to type, plus almost every link in wikipedia to the Hahn-Banach theorem uses the hyphen, so IMO it's best not to mess with it. Image Tagging Image:EmilRulez.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:EmilRulez.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ⇒ JarlaxleArtemis 00:27, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

list of musicians by academic degreesPsycho, Thanks for the list of musicians by academic degrees. I noticed you posted a comment wondering whether I had a J.D. or a different law degree. I do have a Juris Doctor from DePaul. I know that Michael Gerald also has a Juris Doctor. I'm fairly sure his is also from DePaul. I wrote a letter of recommendation for him, and we keep in touch. John Kezdy who sang for The Effigies, a great Chicago punk band, also got a Juris Doctor from DePaul. Thanks again for the list. Santiago Durango ContiE has impersonated me on other wikisHi, I'm in a potentially awkward position with an Administrator. I have read the Wiki pages on dispute resolution but I'm still not sure how to proceed. The Admin ContiE has a personal grudge against me for reasons I do not fully understand. He has been this way since I began frequenting wikipedia. I have done work improving the furvert article. He has basically gone on a crusade against any edit I make. He controls every furry category article and several others ruthlessly. He is an iron fist and bans anyone he edit wars with. I had uploaded pictures and he deleted them with no talking. He seems to believe I am every person he has had an edit war against. He is always using personal attacks, calling me troll without reason. I uploaded them again and he voted them for deleted, but to his surprise the person who runs the images, thank you Nv8200p, found they were acceptable once I tagged them properly. Just recently he removed both the images without himself discussing it in the talk page (unless he was the same person who discussed only one) with the edit here [3] Then ContiE assumed bad faith, added his constant insult of troll in the talk page. It appears on a completed different wiki, a comedy one in all things, somebody else stole my username and I believe this was Conti himself and uploaded them. ContiE showed it as his reason. While vandalism like his, I would revert and mention it, he would ban me permanently if I undid his edit. That is why I am asking admins for help. He holds a couple of accounts on wikipedia and I think they are administrators so I have to be careful who I tell about this. Arthur T. MurrayHi Psychonaut... you might remember when I (or maybe my old FleaPlus alias) tried creating a wikipedia article on Arthur T. Murray a couple of years ago, which was deleted because Murray himself kept on vandalizing it, even though the subject itself is fairly encyclopedic. Do you think the anti-vandalization mechanisms in wikipedia are now good enough for another attempt at creating such an article? --NeuronExMachina 19:53, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

I have been adding cities to the Eponymous cities category as well. Just a question to see if we get on the same page: should we add the category or subcategory to the appropriate redirect page(s) or to the main article. I notice that you did the former. I did the latter. Should we be consistent or just savor the difference? Carlossuarez46 21:25, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
"Climate changes of 535-536" redirects to "Climate changes of 535-536"?I was reading the entry on Climate changes of 535-536 and noticed the redirect that seemingly leads to itself. On the talk page (see "Weirdness!"), I saw that someone named Litefantastic was confused as well. When I looked at the the history for the redirect, I noticed that you had created it (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Climate_changes_of_535-536&action=history for the history page or the redirected article's history is shown). How/Why did you create redirect? It seems odd that the titles of the articles appear identical. Is it perhaps that HTML codes were used for the characters in the title at some point? Thanks in advance - badmonkey 10:06, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
linguist assistanceYou are listed in the linguist by profession category. Would you please look at the discussion at Talk:Caron? It has been suggested that professional opinions are required to resolve the dispute there. Dance capitalizationI noticed that you listed yourself as a linguist. There is currently a dispute at the Lindy Hop article the Dance WikiProject about the capitalization of dances that could use the expertise of a linguist. If you think you might be able to help, we would certainly appreciate your comments. Thanks! --Cswrye 05:22, 25 July 2006 (UTC) Your threat to delete the photos of Regina, SKOh don't do that.
