The National Polish American Sports Hall of Fame inductees includes Canadians. It is by no means a direct or closely related category to Americans of Polish descent. The Americans of Polish descent category is immutable - Polish ethnic background is genetic and cannot be taken back, which is something that can't be said about an NFL championship or inductee, for instance. In some pages such as Mike Ditka, it is inconsistent and confusing to leave only the category about his Ukrainian roots while leaving the Hall of Fame category to identify his Polish roots. Other exceptions could include a non-ethnic Pole who emigrated from Poland to the United States. Could that person make the Polish American Hall of Fame? Yes, if inducted by the hall.
