I noticed that you've started the year by being active here at the Wiki, which is great!

This is just to let you know that, when you want to reply to another user, you can place the {{ping|username}} template at the head of the reply you left (indented) underneath the user's original text in your talk page, like this:

{{ping|Pdebee}} Hello Patrick! (more text in your reply... and signed with the usual '~~~~')

This will send an alert notification to the ping'd user and turn his/her Your alerts indicator from grey to red. By clicking on this indicator, a summary message will enable that user to link back to your original reply located at your talk page.

There are other facilities (see Template:Reply to), and also the {{talkback|PigeonOfTheNight}} template which, when you place it in a new section of another user's talk page, leaves a message box with a link back to a section at your talk page, hence your username in the second part of the template (see Template:Talkback).

I am sure you knew some of all this stuff already, and I hope you don't mind that I offered this unsolicited advice...

Wikification of the article on 'Georgi Kornazov'

Dear Maybelle,

As promised, please find, in my drafting sandbox itself, the polished version ("After") of the text ("Before") that you sent me two days ago.

I have also added a "Comments and suggestions" section, outlining the approach I would take were I to tackle the wikification of the subject article. You don't have to do any of these things; it's really up to you. Most likely, another editor would take a different approach, based on his/her skills and experience as an editor.

Please feel free to use my drafting sandbox's talk page and create sections to exchange further communications with me on the subject article (rather than here in your personal talk page, or in mine), if anything is unclear or when you need further assistance.

In any case, just go for it, be bold and... don't forget to enjoy doing it!

Thanks so much for the message and the barnstar. Unfortunately, I haven't been as diligent lately at fighting vandalism as I should be (real life has been getting in the way a lot), and my work at the "Guild of Copyeditors" is currently a bit dead. (glances nervously at the large number of articles I've wanted/tried to copyedit but haven't looked at since January)

Anyway, thanks for the greeting. I'll honestly try to come back to life a little. I've only been here a few months, so it's a bit too soon for me to throw up the sponge now.

You could consider segregating these bulky updates out to a dedicated page of their own, like I do, so that they no longer loom so large on your talk page. If the idea appeals, then it's a straightforward creation of a new user page:

User:PigeonOfTheNight/Suggesbot,

inside which you then simply insert the template that triggers Suggesbot's updates:

Please forgive me for offering this piece of unsolicited advice (), especially if you'd already considered such a solution but discarded it because you do prefer that Suggestbot adds its tables of articles directly into your talk page.

As I've said before, I have a lot to learn, so any help/advice/criticism is welcome at any time

Per your advice, I have created a new user page for Suggestbot's messages and have tried to add the wikicode. However, it still remains to see whether I have succeeded or whether I have somehow broken Wikipedia and risk being placed in the village stocks.

In any case, thanks for your advice (unsolicited as it is ), and if you have any further suggestions, rest assured I shall be only too glad to hear them.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, PigeonOfTheNight. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
