USRD has pretty much determined that we aren't going to use manually coded junction or exit list tables in the future. In fact, we're tracking what articles are not using the jctint family of templates to create the tables using the talk page banner so we know which articles need to be converted. There are a number of reasons for this change, but consistency is the biggest one. The templates also simplify the coding needed in the edit window.
There are some other templates to create rows of the table. Each has a slightly different set of options compared to {{jctint}} or the state-specifc variants of jctint, but they all work the same with regards to counties, locations and miles as applicable.
Note: all tables should eventually have some sort of mileage listed at some point to be considered complete. Even if you don't know of a source for mileposts at this time, someone else may for your state, or we can always fall back to measuring the distances with Google Maps or some other tool. If the table is missing mileposts, you may want to tag it with {{mileposts}} at the top of the section. The templates will display mile and km columns even if blank, and that's the way it should be. There are a few additional steps in some cases, but if you did this, you'd have a basic table ready to use. If the table starts looking wonky, double check the cspan and lspan values. If you defined the first 5 rows to be in Foo County, but only 4 are supposed to be in Foo County, the cell for Foo County will extend too far down and start pushing stuff over in the fifth row of the table. GA reviewsCan you please gain some more experience with Wikipedia before you review any more GANs, such as writing a GA? To be honest, the reviews that you have done so far are not very helpful to the nominators, and are causing some problems. --Rschen7754 19:00, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
The best way to gain experience on Wikipedia is to try writing an article! I know the first time you tried didn't turn out so well, but that was only because you tried to write about a road that wasn't notable enough for its own article. Try expanding the article for a more notable road. Virginia needs a lot of help for primary state routes! TCN7JM 20:08, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Changing linksI saw this edit you made to Maryland Route 14. You piped a link to change the capitalization of "Suicide bridge" to display as "suicide bridge". Maryland Route 14 Good Article nominationI noticed you nominated Maryland Route 14 at Good Article Nominations. Your contributions to this article are a single, unsubstantial edit that has since been reverted. The community considers it a breach of etiquette for an editor who has not provided significant contributions to an article to nominate and potentially take credit for improving that article to Good Article status. Please withdraw this nomination as soon as possible. Part of understanding the Good Article criteria is understanding what significant contributions are. You are welcome to nominate articles to which you have provided significant contributions. VC 03:53, 29 September 2013 (UTC) Teahouse talkback: you've got messages!Hello, Philroc/Archive 1. Hey, there! Thank you for adding so much content to this article. North Dakota, even though it's one of my former home states, has been a state I've kind of avoided because there aren't really enough sources to expand the articles. While your contributions are nice, please take heed of my recent changes to that article. Your history section was copied almost word for word from the source, which I've fixed. Aside from that, it was a WP:SPS, which we don't cite; we just add those to the external links section. Another main issue was that you abbreviated highways as "ND-1" and "US-52". Please note that only a select few states use the hyphen in abbreviations, and North Dakota is not one of them. In North Dakota, highways are abbreviated with as "ND 1" (note the non-breaking space). Again, thanks for your contributions, and please take this advice into mind when working on North Dakota highways in the future. TCN7JM 22:38, 2 January 2014 (UTC) TalkbackHello, Philroc. Ankit Maity «T § C»«Review Me» 11:52, 8 January 2014 (UTC) AssessmentAs the founder of WP:USRD, I am certainly aware of how we assess articles, and the big three convention (in fact, I was part of the discussion that set that up in the first place). Quite frankly, the insinuation that I don't know what I am doing is very insulting. We do not count sections that are horribly misformatted, or are incredibly short considering how long the section should be. For example, U.S. Route 66 in New Mexico should have entire subsections in the History section; a History section of four sentences should not even be counted towards the Big Three for that article. --Rschen7754 11:49, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Per the ACR page, "Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article prior to a nomination." The review was almost all opposition on that basis without substantive comments, so it has not been added to the article history template on the SR 37 talk page. The reason we have that rule is to make sure nominators have sufficient knowledge about the article and its sources so they can respond to any comments or questions that arise during the review. If they consult with the regular editors, at least those other parties will be aware of the review to contribute. WikiCup newcomer Godot13 (submissions) (Pool E) leads, having produced a massive set of featured pictures for Silver certificate (United States), an article also brought to featured list status. Former finalist Adam Cuerden (submissions) (Pool G) is in second, which he owes mostly to his work with historical images, including a number of images from Urania's Mirror, an article also brought to good status. 2010 champion (Pool C) is third overall, thanks to contributions relating to naval history, including the newly featured Japanese battleship Nagato. Cliftonian (submissions), who currently leads Pool A and is sixth overall, takes the title for the highest scoring individual article of the competition so far, with the top importance featured article Ian Smith. Pool G's Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's Godot13 (submissions), whose featured list Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's ChrisGualtieri (submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included Cliftonian (submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and Caponer (submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include narwhal from Reid, iain james (submissions), tiger from Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and The Lion King from Igordebraga (submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to Czar (submissions) and Red Phoenix (submissions) for their work on the Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals. 192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited New Hampshire Route 102, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page NH 111 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. Blocked from a single IRC channelI have blocked you from entering the #wikipedia-en-roads connect channel because your account has been logging in and pinging out nonstop for the last six hours. If you'd like to idle in the chat room, that's fine. If you'd like to come and go at your leisure, that's fine too. What's not fine is when your account bounces and you're not around to stop it. –Fredddie™ 19:34, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

Go to the Gadgets tab on Special:Preferences, scroll down to Appearance, and select "Add a clock in the personal toolbar that displays the current time in UTC (which also provides a link to purge the current page)." WikiCup 2014 June newsletterAfter an extremely close race, Round 3 is over. 244 points secured a place in Round 4, which is comparable to previous years- 321 was required in 2013, while 243 points were needed in 2012. Pool C's Godot13 (submissions) was the round's highest scorer, mostly due to a 32 featured pictures, including both scans and photographs. Also from Pool C, Casliber (submissions) finished second overall, claiming three featured articles, including the high-importance Grus (constellation). Third place was Pool B's , whose contributions included featured articles Russian battleship Poltava (1894) and Russian battleship Peresvet. Pool C saw the highest number of participants advance, with six out of eight making it to the next round. The round saw this year's first featured portal, with Sven Manguard (submissions) taking Portal:Literature to featured status. The round also saw the first good topic points, thanks to 12george1 (submissions) and the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. This means that all content types have been claimed this year. Other contributions of note this round include a featured topic on Maya Angelou's autobiographies from Figureskatingfan (submissions), a good article on the noted Czech footballer Tomáš Rosický from Cloudz679 (submissions) and a now-featured video game screenshot, freely released due to the efforts of Sven Manguard (submissions). The judges would like to remind participants to update submission pages promptly. This means that content can be checked, and allows those following the competition (including those participating) to keep track of scores effectively. This round has seen discussion about various aspects of the WikiCup's rules and procedures. Those interested in the competition can be assured that formal discussions about how next year's competition will work will be opened shortly, and all are welcome to voice their views then. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.
