Uncyclopedia AfD

You removed the AfD for Uncyclopedia after less than a day of discussion. Please let the discussion continue for at least a week. It is unjust to those wishing to voice their opinion. Stexe 23:31, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Deleted page....regards to 'not noteworthy'...

I read the guidelines as to what is noteworthy, and it appears that it a subject that has a large amount of professional publications and research. Nursing and it's subspecalties certaintly fall under this category, as it it a well established profession, with a long tradition of research and professional publications. As to not having it in the article, If you would let me know how you would like to see it worked in in other than references, I would appricate any advice that you have for me. Other than that, I did put into the talk page that it was an unfinished project, as it is a work that will take a little time. Please consider restoring the page, as I feel it would be a valuble contribution to Wikipedia, and also to the profession of nursing to allow for a more through public understanding of the critical care subspecality. On title template

That template is used to fake the software interface, by using CSS to alter parts of the apparent content that are not supposed to be editable. It's confusing - it makes it seem that your userpage is located in article space. I suggest you stop using it. --Improv 13:31, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

• My position on it is not changed - it is regretful that MfD went the way it did, and IMO such things should be removed on sight. As used on your userpage, it introduces confusion in users on whether they're on a Userpage or an article (especially users who don't have a location bar set to display). A reasonable person could land on your userpage and think it's an article, start to move it into userspace (or delete it) and then notice the inconsistency. Alternatively, new users might start to make pages in articlespace after seeing what you've done. At the very least, it makes it harder for users to tell where they are, and tells them that they can't trust the MediaWiki interface. This is rude. --Improv 00:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

URL bars are only useful for technical users, and most people trust the software interface (which you undermine). Some browsers don't have a location bar to show the URL, and a lot of users have the location bar disabled if they don't use it. I'm being confrontational to confront you with problem behaviour. NEWSLETTER

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now!

• Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
• Give people the Civility Barnstar.
• Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
• Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
• Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

Additionally, was it you who made the comments about uninformed westerners judging this or that? Why don't you post such comments on the talk page where it would be more noticeable. Slovenia Euro ITN item

template:NMGovernors

I noticed you deleted this template with the claim that it had passed deletion via TFD. I could not find the deletion you were talking about, since it did not link to the article (as a TFD should). There was a TFD in August 2005, but it ended with a "keep". I restored the template, but if there was a deletion vote on this template that I missed, let me know. Also, in the future, please provide a link to the deletion decision in your deletion commentary box so there won't be any confusion. --tomf688 (talk - email) 04:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

No no no. Here is what the person on the talk page said, and I'll even bold the important point: "I'm not going to delete a template used in a large number of pages, so someone else can listyfy it and then re-list the template for deletion if they wish." It does not say that it should be deleted, but that someone can renominate it for deletion at a later date. Did you read the vote? Only three people voted to listify/delete while two others voted to keep. That's hardly consensus to have the template deleted, so it shouldn't be. Besides, every other state has their own governor's template and no others have been deleted as far as I can tell. --tomf688 (talk - email) 05:06, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Nevertheless, the "survey" in question is over a year old and whether or not a rough consensus was reached is highly questionable. If this is such a major concern, re-nominate it for deletion. Unblock

Hi, I lifted your block of 63.135.130.226, which you stated was for blankings on Steve Kagen. As far as I could tell, the IP has never blanked the article, although there does appear to be a content dispute. That's not surprising, since there's a fairly recent incident that has gotten heavy play online. So your semi-protection of the article seems appropriate to me, but I couldn't see any justification for a block, especially since no warnings had been given. There wasn't even a three-revert rule violation, so a block, particularly of one week, seemed rather excessive under the circumstances. --Michael Snow 07:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

I tried to put the Injun comment back on the Kagen site, but I was disallowed from doing so. However, the corrections to the White House comments were footnoted, and should have stayed. What is being posted reads like a Republican blog about Kagen, and accurate statements I had placed about the Oneida's nonreaction which were clearly stated in the article being cited were deleted. The postings are portraying Kagen is a unfavor negative light. Kagen denied making the comments, and the story was unsubstantiated. If mentions were made about his co-sponsored prescription drug plan passing Congress this week had been mentioned, the the article might have some degree of balance. I would like to see the page taken down until the issue is resolved as a matter of fairness and accuracy. Wikipedia is not suppose to be a defacto republican blog.

Steve Kagen

I read your comment that it isn't a "Republican" blog. In retrospect there were a couple of sentences I should have not posted, but you deleted the entire Green Bay Press-Gazette article, which had you read the article provided a more complete discussion of the issue, which is the point of an encyclopedia. It also interestingly showed the Press-Gazette's definition of civility, although that was a comment that I shouldn't have posted.

No mention of Kagen co-sponsoring the Medicare prescription drug plan passing Congress, no quote of the actual article that the White House story first appeared in, no quote of Wisconsin Politics coverage of the issue, etc.

Once again, if the link can't provide fair, balanced, and complete coverage, the link needs to come down. We need to take this to arbitration.

Hi. I'm a relatively new contributer to Wikipedia, and recently stumbled across an article that interested me about the Revolutionary War. AirTran

Because there is only one sentence about the proposed merger of AirTran and Midwest and in that sentence it says that Midwest has rejected the offer. I don't have a problem with the "current related template" if there is more than one sentence about the issue in the article but as it stands now, I see no need in it Sox23 23:40, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism help

Hello,

I see that you are also active in the Spanish wikipedia. I have been assisting with the English Don Quixote project recently. I have a complaint about some vandalism there, and do not know how to handle that. Please advise.

There are two recent instances of vandalism that is also borderline obscenity/hate activity. Kindly review the recent (Jan 28-30 of 2007) diffs to see these.
