Wow, it seems like you created an article about the One Big Union while I was working on it myself. Well, it did take me three hours with lots of breaks to complete it. Tagging of Ben Christophers

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Ben Christophers. I do not think that Ben Christophers fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because claims he issued two albums on a notable label per WP:BAND, of course still unsourced. I request that you consider not re-tagging Ben Christophers for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. Tagging of Sylvia walby

Sorry, I have no idea whay this page may be blatant advertising. It is a page about a well known and important Marxist Feminist professor and author who is one of the worlds leading sociologists on this subject. She has lead the way in womens studies from her early days at Lancaster through UCLA, Bristol, LSE, Leeds and back to Lancaster. She is and has been chair of many senior womens orgaisations and umbrella bodies and the leader of several important research establishemnts.

I appreciate that this is my first major contribution but I feel hounded. I have gradually improved the article, added references, articles, cross referencesd publications and CV and uni pages.. and have gone from comments about needing to add references to a "rapid delete"

Sorry, this is my bad. I should have gone with something less drastic than a speedy. My objection was to phrases like "Sylvia Walby is one of the world's leading authorities on gender", and to the listing of quite so many papers which she has worked on. OK.. but I thought it was good policy to give a decent bibliogragraphy.. and she is certainly considered one of the leading academics in the field of womens studies and gender issues, as you can see from the vast number of references to her.. and i have only put in some of the academic references, not all the papers, news articles etc. Suefidler 21:27, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I guess the ideal option would be to find a source that describes her directly as "one of the world's leading authorities" and cite that source to support the claim. Model international organization

Recently you deleted my addition to the entry for Model International Organization. I readded the material and you deleted again. I understand the reason, but the information is not protected information. Furthermore, I am the author of the original text that I copied from the MIO website. What can I do to keep this info on the Wikipedia entry? My friends and I are the founders of MIO and wanted to create this page to chronicle the organization. But it will be difficult if someone erases it each time we update. If you want to use the text that you created on Wikipedia, you should put a note on your website (or just on this page) stating that the content of the page is released for reuse under the GFDL, which is compatible with Wikipedia's copyright policy.

Okay, I'm slowing figuring out how to work on Wikipedia as I am new. I now see that each user has a talk page. I will message you from here from now one.

To further explain my position, I respect the idea that Wikipedia is an extremely powerful tool. If the integrity of it is comprimised, I could see how it would become sullied. I have no intention of doing this. Instead, I'd simply like the opportunity, not to market on Wikipedia, but to explain concepts in scientific terms and cite my research accordingly. Tell you what, I have no problem with going through my work (which I've saved to my HD) and finding the appropriate citations (which I was going to do anyway as soon as I figure out how to cross reference... perhaps you can help with that). kk, the main issue I had with the content was that it didn't seem very neutral-point-of-view. An article on a beverage should discuss the beverage's salient characteristics, as well as explain its notability. Articles such as Gatorade exist because the beverage is instantly recognizable to hundreds of millions of people in many different places, and so there is less of a need to explain its notability. By contrast, this article was the first I had ever heard of Lock+Load. While there is probably a case to prove notability for Lock+Load, given that articles such as [1] exist, it's more essential to prove that it's notable and deserving of an article.

On the subject of references, simply type something like this <ref>Doe, John. Blah Blah. Nowhere: Acme Press, 1984.</ref> in the place where you want to put the footnote, then put <references/> at the bottom of the article. --Nucleusboy 20:02, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your point is very interesting, and I completely understand where you're coming from. If Lock+Load was a product with no merit of its own, it would rely on marketing hype and in such a case, would require a medium through which to hype it (i.e., wikipedia). I understand why you jumped on it.

Let me float this past you. I plan on establishing notability through the idea that the product is not ordinary but revolutionary. This is not an untested Vitaminwater knockoff. Lock+Load is a progressive product that captures the latest nutritional research and technology to actually improve the world of sports nutrition. I simply wish for the opportunity to make this known to those who are proactive enough to look for it. Of course, this won't be interesting to everyone, but then again, neither is Carl Marx or the mating rituals of bees. My argument is that peptides are revolutionary in the way that the body utilizes them and therefore, a trend of peptides in consumer products will persist down the road. If peptides are notable, then the products they are in are also notable. Lock+Load is notable because it is the first beverage to use them. Olay Regenerist is notable because it's the first skin cream to use them. Etc.

Of course, I'd be more than happy to follow criteria you think appropriate. How's that sound?

If you want to use the same source more than once, instead of just <ref>Doe, John...</ref>, use <ref name="blah">Doe, John....</ref>. The next time you want to use the same source, only type <ref name="blah"/> (make sure to type the slash after the name of the reference). Hope this helps.

Yes I am new to wikipedia editing, but I do not appreciate all of the deleting you are doing to the Georgetown, MA article. Myself and two other residents are adding information that cannot be found in articles or the internet. The information we are adding puts more flavor and insight to what our town is like and if you would just stop that would be great. Thanks. There's a lot of information not available on the Internet that would add "more flavour and insight" to a lot of Wikipedia articles, but that doesn't mean that it deserves inclusion. Lisgar Collegiate Institute has blue lockers, but that doesn't need to be in its article. Neither does Ottawa have lists of famous teachers at its high schools. Not all information deserves to be in Wikipedia.

Speedy deletion of Meernium

Based on your speedy deletion nomination of Meernium, you may want to review the definition of patent nonsense. While criteria A1 seems to be useful for "nonsense" articles like Meernium, it really only applies to articles whose only content is, as my high school English teacher would say, gobbeldygook. Articles that aren't random characters or word salad but are still "nonsense", can be speedied under another criteria, like A7, or sent to PROD or AFD.
