Welcome to the one hundred and eighty ninth WikiProject Yorkshire monthly newsletter.
Thanks to the contributions of our many members and supporters, WP:YORKS has become a leading local British WikiProject in terms of the total number of articles supported (down from 18,873 last month to 18,855 on 4 January 2024). In the area of GAs WP:YORKS at 216 is ahead of WP:GM who have 89. WP:YORKS also has the lead in FAs at 92 while WP:GM has 65 out of a total number of 4,872 articles.
Currently we have seventy five Yorkshire featured articles:
The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.

The project is subscribed to a clean-up listing which lists articles tagged with various clean-up tags that need attention. The listing is refreshed by a bot on a regular basis.

Moves Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. You will also have to check that the Commons link is set correctly.

Unreferenced backlog
There is an Unreferenced Article Backlog drive running throughout February across Wikipedia, it would be good for project members to be involved in this and help reduce the number of unreferenced articles supported by the project. You do not have to signup to be involved. There are currently 245 in the "Cites no sources" section of the project's clean-up listing that could do with some sources adding to them.

Hello and welcome to the April 2024 newsletter, a quarterly digest of Guild activities since December. Don't forget you can unsubscribe at any time; see below. We extend a warm welcome to all of our new members. We wish you all happy copy-editing.
Election results: In our December 2023 coordinator election, Zippybonzo stepped down as coordinator; we thank them for their service. Incumbents Dhtwiki and Miniapolis were reelected coordinators, and Wracking was newly elected coordinator, to serve through 30 June. Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators will open on 1 June (UTC).
Drive: 46 editors signed up for our January Backlog Elimination Drive, 32 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Between them, they copy-edited 289 articles totaling 626,729 words. Barnstars awarded are here.
Blitz: 23 editors signed up for our February Copy Editing Blitz. 18 claimed at least one copy-edit and between them, they copy-edited 100,293 words in 32 articles. Barnstars awarded are here.
Drive: 53 editors signed up for our March Backlog Elimination Drive, 34 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Between them, they copy-edited 300 articles totaling 587,828 words. Barnstars awarded are here.
Blitz: Sign up for our April Copy Editing Blitz, which runs from 14 to 20 April. Barnstars will be awarded here.
Progress report: As of 23:17, 11 April 2024 (UTC), GOCE copyeditors have processed 109 requests since 1 January 2024, and the backlog stands at 2,480 articles.

Elections
This is the month for local elections, Mayoral elections and Police and Crime Commissioner elections. There will be a large number of results articles that need creating or updating. There will also be updates to most of the location articles, with changes to the governess sections and infoboxes. Not to mention the people articles for those standing for election.
