WP:AURD project newsletter

Hi Nbound,

I've been creating a WP:AURD project newsletter (similar to WP:USRD's "The Center Line"), and was wondering if you would like to write/contribute to a section? It could be on anything you want, but if you want ideas, some things that probably need to be mentioned in the newsletter are recent discussions (and their outcomes), additions to guidelines (MOS:RJL, WP:AURDNAME), template updates (infobox rewrite, proposed lua conversions), and project-wide developments (VisualEditor deployed). @Nbound: Not sure if you've missed the above, just been busy, or don't want to write anything (which is fine, per WP:NOTCOMPULSORY ), but unless you need more time, I'm intending to publish it tomorrow night. @Evad37: Yeah Ive been pretty busy (and Im too tired to contribute anything resembling coherent text at this point). Ill try to add something in tomorrow if I can, but dont wait for me. Wolverhampton, music

Thanks for your response at DRN. I was hoping for some help from a more experienced editor or administrator. I do not understand their explanations for the edits, and the removal of a complete paragraph of text and the supporting picture. Do they make sense to you? Would you have viewed it as suspect vandalism? As a relatively new editor, if I enter into a discussion on the article talk page I feel it is the blind leading rhe blind. I have no vested interest in reverting the text again, it was not my original contribution, except for helping maintain a comprehensive and current location article. The editor, if indeed it is one, not two, also removed the person from the List of people from Wolverhampton article which suggests a targeted and personal viewpoint.

I have asked both IPs on their talk page to contact you in regards to this. I would have asked them to prove that it was policy. Of course if it doesnt matter to you too much, and no other editor picks it up, you can just leave it, and if he is wrong, another editor will likely re-add it at some point. :) -- Nbound (talk) 01:42, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi The editor did not contact me and has repeatedly vandalised Wolverhampton and now List of people from Wolverhampton again with two new IP addresses. Other editors have tried to restore an entry to no avail. Judging by the increasingly lengthy attempted explanations and now the use of upper case text he will not accept consensus or explain his, to me, irrational references to some unspecified WP guideline that he will not reference. His latest edit on List of people from Wolverhampton has also damaged other content. These IP addresses have been used so far: 151.26.122.138, 151.26.92.149, 151.26.103.126, 151.26.74.203 Keomike (talk) 23:17, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

@Keomike: You could probably mention this on the edit warring or administrators noticeboard. If there is some policy/guideline that covers this chances are one of them will know it, otherwise the editor may receive sanctions for disruptive editing. Make sure you post all diffs showing editors trying to to make contact and/or re-adding the content. There is a small chance this route will backfire somewhat if you have broken a rule like 3RR. -- Nbound (talk) 23:55, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

I've got a pdf document, Historical Roads of New South Wales: Sturt Highway, which is an extract from the Department of Main Roads' Journal "Main Roads" in September, 1954. NSW maps

I see you've put together some nice maps of the Monaro Highway and Silver City Highway. Is there any chance you could put together a map of all NSW highways to replace the old one on Highways in New South Wales? Ausmeerkat (talk) 04:56, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

@Ausmeerkat: - Not right now but I am sure to get around to it in the not insanely distant future. Ill just also point out that the work you are undertaking on that page would probably be better served on a routes in New South Wales kind of page, most of the routes arent actually legally highways (or even known as "<xxxxx> highway"). And some routes even when concurrent with highways do not cover them their entire lengths. Compare List of highways in Western Australia and List of road routes in Western Australia. This document may be of interest and or use to you (Schedule of Highways/Main Roads/etc. - note that a few named highways arent even legal highways either! Thanks - yes you are right, although in my defence that article was always about routes not highways. So renaming the existing article and creating a new one focusing on the gazetted highways (irrespective of routes) would seem logical. Ausmeerkat (talk) 23:11, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea to me, I might pop around and give you a hand at some point. It would be good if we could get these articles to Featured List status (or Good Article status if there is enough prose to support that). Though this would mean pretty much no citing Ozroads,etc. (Much of their information is available from the RTA or Trove anyway!) :) -- Nbound (talk) 23:29, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
