User talk:NZFC/Archive 1SquadsBest if you don't re-add the squad. You've show your incompetence and lack of any research assuming players are English because they play in England. Amadou Tangara is Ivorian, Adeyinka Cole is Nigerian, Nathan Campbell isn't Portugese, Lartey Sarpong - despite having a Wikipedia page isn't Portugese either. You also missed off the two of the only four players to have been signed this season. The rest aren't confirmed as you're clearly not aware, players not on a permanent contracts become free agents as of 1 June. You're showing exactly why this template doesn't work at this level, because of ignorance, a lack of any knowledge of and all round incompetence. RTB. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Just to clarify the article is not in anyway a promotion nor a spam. The article is about a significantly notable album in Vietnam, and the article will also dealt fairly with the album's controversies of plagiarism tracks (you can check out a small part that I'm writing here). I'm sorry if my writing style in the article made you think the page is commercialized, but please understand that it's still currently under construction. I would recommend in general to model new seasons off of the latest season, as that way you get all the most recent corrections and fixes. ;) --SuperJew (talk) 08:30, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
Non-free image use of File:National Women's League.jpgHi NZ Footballs Conscience. The licensing of each image you see on Wikipedia is determined by it copyright status and not every image file you see on Wikipedia is licensed the same. Some files are licensed as public domain or licensed under a free licensed suitable for Wikipedia and these are often collectively referred to as "free images". Other files are licensed as non-free content because of their copyright status and these file are commonly referred to as "non-free images". Non-free image use is highly restricted and each use of a file such as Image:City of Montgomery Great Seal.png must satisfy Wikipedia's non-free image use policy. There are various problems with using this file in 2016 National Women's League (New Zealand). The first one is WP:NFCC#10c, which says that a seperate specific non free use rationale needs to be provided for each use. This file is currently lacking such a rationale for the article in question, which means it can be removed per WP:NFCCE. The question then is whether it such a rationale can be written and I don't think that one can in this case. This is because of WP:NFCC#8, which requires that a particular non-free use significantly improve the reader's understanding to such a degree, that omitting the image would be detrimental to that understanding, and items 14 and 17 of WP:NFC#UUI. Item 14 states the logos used for perennial events (such as the logo for a professional sports league) are generally not allowed to be used in individual occurances of said events unless they are somehow specific to the particular year or season in question. The non-free use of the logo in National Women's League (New Zealand) seems fine since the logo is being used as the primary means of identification of the league and appears to be the branding choosen by the league to represent itself. The use in the individual season articles, however, is not so clear. Simply adding the main logo to the infobox of each season article because it is used in the main league article is almost certainly not going to be considered to comply with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy, unless there is something particular about the logo which ties it specifically into a particular season; for example, anniversary logos, commerative logos, change of sponsorship, etc. Item 17 basically states that reusing the logos of parent entities in the article of child entities is typically not allowed, but logos specific to the child entity may be used. The main league article would be considered to be the parent entity and the individual season articles would be considered child entities, so once again you're going to have to clearly establish that non-free use is justified if you want to use the logo in the 2016 article. The default is not to use the parent logo in the child entity's article simply because no child-entity-specific logo exists. In such cases, a link the parent article is typically considered sufficient per WP:NFCC#1 and item 6 of WP:NFC#UUI. If you feel that the non-free use of the file in the article can be justified, then please provide the required non-free use rationale explaining how. The rationale needs to be specific enough to clearly show how (at least how you feel) the particular use meets all 10 non-free content criterion; in other words, simply copying-and-pasting a rationale for another use and changing the article parameter/name is typically not sufficient. Furthermore, providing a rationale is only 1 (actually only 1 part of 1 criterion) of the 10 criterion and does not in and of itself justify non-free use; the file's non-free use can still be discussed at WP:FFD or the file can be tagged with {{di-disputed fair use rationale}} if another editor feels the rationale is not valid. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask as WP:MCQ or WT:NFCC. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:46, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

I didn't see Sail on Phoenix's site, but he's meant to be on a two-year senior contract... it's weird that Smith started and Sail wasn't even in the line-up (unless he's injured or something?) To Cite or Not To Cite, That Is The Question (I'm getting conflicting instructions here!)Hi NZFC -- you've just requested that I stop citing entries on Day of the Year pages. Unfortunately, I am getting conflicting instructions on this topic. Last week, I began adding new entries to these pages, and I did NOT cite them, because I could clearly see (as you just pointed out) that names were linked to the originating articles, and therefore did not need to be cited. However, I was stopped by an editor called Toddst1, who informed me that the formatting guidelines for Days of the Year pages had just recently changed. Due to these changes, all new entries are required to be cited directly. Toddst1 began deleting/reverting my uncited entries, which is why I began citing entries. You can see my discussion on Toddst1's talk page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Toddst1#Sources_for_lists_of_articles....3F So... can you please tell me: do I, or do I not, cite sources for new Days of the Year page entries? I'm getting quite tired of being told that I'm doing it wrong, and I would like one single solid answer so that I can start doing it right. Thanks, Alanna the Brave (talk)

Main image of Kim Jonghyun's article changeHi. I'd like to ask if it's possible to change the main image of Kim Jonghyun's article to avoid bad judgement for those seeking mental health support and to avoid stigmatization of depression with this gloomy, hopeless, stern dark connotation. Aside from this issue, the image is not portraying the job of the artist. Considering that many other news sources can use the wikipedia image for future news and articles, it could lead to bad judgement about Jonghyun's mental state from those who don't know about his personality or work. I can not post images on mobile version of wiki, but If possible, I'd like to ask for some image taken in the event: Healing Story by Jonghyun - that happened on 19th of september in 2015. As a depressed person myself and a sincere fan, It would be good to count with your understanding and help. Thank you in advance. Have a nice day. AuraAcqua (talk) 05:05, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
BRD: reaching a consensusRegarding your reversion to this entry:
While it is true that a number of articles are cited, each of those articles cites the same original article---a Page Six gossip column which cites a single anonymous source. This runs contrary to wikipedia's policy for biographies of living persons, and its policy against tabloid sources. If you check those references, I believe you'll agree. Some of those references are quite clearly attempts to smear the subject (e.g. calling her "israel-hater"). Please reconsider the reversion. thanks for the work you do and for your efforts on behalf of wikipedia! @GrosvenorMetro:, thanks for that information. I can't look at each reference properly now as I've left home for a few hours. I will have a look later and double check what you are saying about the references each just copying the first un-reliable source, if that is the case we can remove it. NZFC(talk) 01:32, 29 December 2017 (UTC) Thanks for taking care of this, @NZ Footballs Conscience:. Really appreciate your work maintaining the community.
DUID articleHello, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to leave a msg? I'm not a pro at Wikipedia. I wrote the original article and titled it DUID when I was writing a law review article that was later published (I left the citation in the DUID article). With regard to the levels of metabolites used for drugs in the US, the values came from Department of Transportation adoption of numbers that the Dept of Health and Human Services adopted in response to the drug crisis perceived in the 1980s and under then President Regan. Here is the citation to the US Federal Register that explains the first adoption and how these values were determined to rule out people who simply have used drugs in the recent past. at page 164 These values were never initially meant to indicate intoxication. Because it is difficult to determine an objective standard of intoxication with all the illegal drugs, the states simply adopted these values. This is a logical problem and is the reason I wrote the law review article. There is a basic fairness violation in the per se framework of DUID absent a genuine and reasonable determination of metabolite levels that actually demonstrate intoxication to some degree and it should be stated as such in discussing the topic. It is perfectly acceptable to believe that since they are illegal, there should be a conviction, but it should be know that this is actually the case and not let people erroneously believe that it is like the alcohol standard. I am not skilled at wiki editing so I hope you might put it together? Please let me know if you'd like to discuss further. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cdova (talk • contribs) 18:21, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

My editsHi. Please understand that my edits to the SHINee page were made out of respect to the deceased and to the remaining members of the group who wish to acknowledge SHINee as five. I have also edited the language of the page which implies SHINee never consisted of five members as that is inaccurate. Please allow this to stand, as I am only respecting the wishes of those closest to the deceased artist by ensuring that the image published in their name accurately reflects the group's view of themselves. Additionally, please allow this to stand because it most accurately represents the group in this past decade. Message me with any concerns, I'm still unsure how the communication here works. Lifegem Proof which includes patent with mentioned discrepancy. You asked for evidence for the edits I included on Lifegem's page. Here is a summary of there patent with their claims and a expert in gemology as well as insurance breaking it down. The main thing to note is that on their patent they state they use sublimation which means CVP not HPHT. Sublimation or Chemical Vapor Deposition is not possible to form diamonds out of carbon ashes, it's only possible with HPHT, which they state is not used on their patent. In follow up the owners stated they actually do not handle the process, which is incorrectly stated on the wikipedia page. http://cremationdiamondreport.com/lifegem2007.html Please note I am writing this for you to consider families who are grieving and in sorrow who are being misled into thinking the diamonds are made from their relatives, even when that has not been proven or indicated anywhere. For the Lifegem page to exist it needs to contain factual information, it currently has no scientific articles or journals backing it's claim. Orphaned non-free image File:New Zealand Football Women's Knockout Cup.jpgThanks for uploading File:New Zealand Football Women's Knockout Cup.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 00:05, 20 April 2019 (UTC) Tyler Boyd article date formatHi, I can perfectly understand your logic for reverting the date format. However, MoS guideline I followed in making my edits is the following (MOS:DATERET), quoted below:
Currently, all three point to DMY, starting with the first date placed in the article (on 8 October 2012) and the majority of existing dates being DMY. That is why I made the edits that I made. Assuming there is enough consensus to change the format ("strong national ties" being made somewhat more complicated due to dual citizenship), are you going to undertake the change of all the instances of DMY to MDY? Again, I see your point entirely. But when I've done the same change that you did (and for the same reason), someone else reverted it for the reasons above. Therefore, I figured going with the existing format was the safest edit. Clearly, it's not a straightforward issue, no matter which way we go. ;) Respectfully, 1980fast (talk) 23:26, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019 Chatham Cup, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Seth Ward and Michael White (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.) I've been trying to add the assist ranking to the OFC U23 article but it's been deleted twice. Well, I actually don't have a reliable source like Oceania Football Confederation official website. But I watched 5 times each goal in the championship to make this ranking so I can assure it's right. You can do the same to check this list, if necessary. All goal videos are available on Youtube (highlights videos) or in MyCujoo (Full matches) We have some groups to discuss football in Oceania with people from all over the world, if you interest just message me Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amadeu1997 (talk • contribs) 02:59, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
Thank you...for stepping in to the situation of excessive reverting editing by the Texas teenager. Please keep an eye on these sitations? Because I am not editing as a registered editor, I am not well positioned to institute restraints to prevent disruptive editing. I will be happy if others can take such steps if they become necessary. An article in question is that of Evan O'Neill Kane, and my editing is very close to my professional expertise, and certainly has been undertaken with very great care. KYTV (TV) fileHi NZFC. I'm sure you meant well, but the file had actually been provided with a non-free use rationale for the KYTV article before you made this edit. The rationale was added after the bot correctly removed the file but before you incorrectly removed it a second time. Perhaps you didn't notice this because you're using Twinkle, but it's easy to miss this type of thing if you actually don't take a look at the file's page to verify there's no rationale for the file's use. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:52, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

Update on NCAA DI Tournament Team NamesAs per the previous made edit with St. John's and St. Mary's, the team names are added with that in the official NCAA website on the bracket page. Following that, my belief was that they should have their state names next to their University Name, no matter if there is no other school with that name in Division I. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DrGearsKaktus1234 (talk • contribs) 19:07, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the content guideline and the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. All new additions without references are now being either reverted on-sight or in some cases where the patroller is especially motivated, immediately sourced. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out. All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, please do not accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you and please keep up your good work! Just a tip for AIV - admins patrolling it are not looking to do research, they're looking for obvious vandalism that needs a block now. When you get an editor like that where every individual edit looks reasonable on the face of it (Sure, Japan might be playing France. Sure, Kim Jong Un might be attending that event. Sure, Japan might be having a friendly against Nagoya Grampus) it's quite helpful if you can pick out an individual edit and explain briefly why it's specifically wrong or disruptive. If an admin at AIV can't (a) read your summary, (b) check the contributions, and (c) agree that it needs blocking within, say, 30 seconds, they're just going to move on. I just thought I'd mention this, as I actually saw your report this morning and just moved on because there was other, more clear and urgent, stuff to deal with. However, I do not have any experience editing Wikipedia articles so when I cited my sources in the editing part I just put on the links. Still the studies clearly show that the current version is supporting a myth about dairy. However, my version was declined because of lack of sources. I guess the problem is I didn't edit the citations properly and the links alone are not enough. Current version however has NO studies to back it up. So if you can do a better job editing - please do - here is an article heavily backed up by studies showing that dairy is good for bone health and protein leading to acidosis is one of the dumbest myths ever: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/is-dairy-good-for-your-bones Educate yourself and fix it yourself since you do not like my edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.126.34.134 (talk) 22:28, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sarah Fuller (athlete). is inherently wrong, unless proper citation is given that proves otherwise. The cited Buzzfeed article makes no mention of "spaces designed for asexual people" as being ageist or racist, or centering on a specific race. Northern League Auckland teamsHey NZFC, just thought I may as well explain why I had the Auckland map for the teams. Had just seen other league pages such as the Premier League and the National League and how they do it for the London clubs so thought it could be worth doing. Understand why you don't want it there and that's all good. Think having it for the National League Championship would be a good idea though. Kezyfooty (talk) 12:42, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Regarding your reversion of my edit to "Template:2021 New Zealand National League"Greetings and felicitations. I noticed that you reverted my edit to Template:2021 New Zealand National League. I grant you that I was lazy and did not create a proper reference, such as this one:
Note that I fudged the title of the page by adding "Competitions:", so that it is obvious to which of the topbar's menu items that is being used, and archived the current URL/page using the Wayback Machine's "Save Page Now" function. I am puzzled by the lack of use of proper references, since otherwise the bare URLs are subject to link rot. Note that I had to use a different URL (https://www.nzfootball.co.nz/COMPETITIONS/Football/National-League) than the one (https://www.nzfootball.co.nz/COMPETITIONS/National-League) in the version of the article that you reverted because the current one redirects to the site's front page—i.e, the link has already rotted. Just because some is "the way it's done here" doesn't mean that it is a good idea. I suggest that you be bold and change it—here's a reference template, completely filled out:
Or at the very least let me change this example of it for you. —DocWatson42 (talk) 08:15, 19 July 2021 (UTC) Removing some areas on the University of Canterbury pageHi NZFC I would just like to query on why you deleted the section on halls of residence at the University of Canterbury as well as student culture.
