I suppose that you were patrolling recent changes and noticed the rather unencyclopedic language that I added to ring of bells. So you reverted it. Let me explain: I was cleaning up campanology and deleted that text from that article; but despite the impossibly unencylcopedic style I decided there was a kernel of real substance (and good faith) to it and so I decided to save it (but in its proper home, the more specific ring of bells rather than the more general campanology). For the sake of making the edit history clear, however, it's important to first make the cut-and-paste edit (carefully noting this fact in the edit history) and only subsequently clean it up in a separate edit.
