Hi Mrschrimpf. I'm just curious as to why you added {{Orphaned non-free revisions}} to this file's page with this edit. The file is licensed as {{PD-logo}} which means it's not covered by WP:NFCC or WP:F5. Was it your intention to convert the file back to a non-free license? Removing the list of stations that aired What a Country! (1986-87)
Your rational for removing the list of stations that originally aired the sitcom What a Country back in the '80s doesn't make sense. You said and I quote "show was in syndication; list of stations not needed". Syndication isn't like a network like ABC, NBC, or CBS, where at least in regards to Wikipedia, you can find a readily made list of all of the affiliates to the dedicated cities and markets. And why do you say that a list of stations is not needed when it was in syndication. If anything, you're thinking from a backwards perspective. Again, the whole point of syndication is that a station will purchase the show and then air it essentially at any time of their choosing. It's extremely and incredibly presumptuous and subjective on your part to say that the "vast majority of people don't care where it aired in Cheyenne, Wyoming". I live in Northern California, and I for one am always curious for which local station of mine aired a first-run syndicated program. You can't just take the position of "just because I personally don't care, why should others". And I didn't even bother with the timeslots like you mentioned. I wanted to keep things as simple as possible by merely listing the city and the station. And as for Star Trek: The Next Generation, if you're worried about 70% of the main article being covered by more than 200 sources, then I don't see any problem in merely creating a brand new article devoted to its syndication coverage. Star Trek: TNG unlike any other syndicated show of its era, has much more than a singular, "main" article, given what franchise it belongs to. Comparing Star Trek to an obscure, single season '80s sitcom like What a Country is apples and oranges anyway. And saying that all we need to know is that it's a syndicated show would be like saying that we don't need an article that list the CBS network affiliates because all that we need to know is that the show aired on CBS. Again, it goes back to my prior point concerning you being presumptuous and subjective. If it's a syndicated show, then wouldn't it make sense to at the very least specific, where in the major markets like New York, LA, and Chicago aired it? It's also impossible to literally find 180-215 defined television markets that may have aired said syndicated show in the pre-internet era. Again, you can't just use Star Trek: The Next Generation as a direct reason for why there shouldn't be a standard list of affiliates, because this isn't about that show, it's about What a Country, which naturally has less coverage. The link that you sent me concerns the television or radio station's article and how it would best for editors to not post a comprehensive listing of the station's entire broadcast schedule. It isn't about the shows themselves on said schedule. To put it in another way, we're are discouraged to post a daily schedule for WPIX in New York on that station's individual Wikipedia article. Also, what "other websites" can go into the intricacies of a show's scheduling? And what's not to say that explain which key stations aired a syndicated program isn't remotely important? Oh by the way, why do you need to communicate with me in a highly patronizing tone? You twisted what is in those links to the proper polices. Might I reiterate that the link that you initially showed me, doesn't talk specifically about the list of stations that aired an individual program. It was about not making a lengthy section concerning a daily schedule for specific TV or radio station. Why are you twisting what is factually said in there just to make your point> And when I try to reason with you, instead of hearing what I have to say, you become extremely haughty and condescending. And you also deliberately overlook the fact that I provided reliable sources like newspaper articles. You simply focus on YouTube links and try to spin it by saying that Broadcasting magazine (which is as reliable as an industry source that you could find from that era), which is available to the free public (just Google it) doesn't fit as source. You continue to present your point of view from a decidedly subjective area with by saying "This is information the layman in no way cares about." Hey... There is a there is an ongoing discussion regarding the notability of List of programs broadcast by Asianet. I have checked the article and it has already been stated at the discussion that most of the shows on the list are Original programming but the nom argues that it doesn't make them notable as there is no evidence that the shows are produced by them but there is no evidence that they aren't either, atleast in part and they still are the channel's originals. I pointed that out but they just ended up twisting my words. You have been on Wiki for quite a few years now and specialise in TV so would you be kind enough as to state your opinion there...to get some clarity. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
