Vandals must have a final warning before being blocked on 130.156.48.2.

Thank you for making a report about 130.156.48.2 (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. (Note that "recent" in this case means same-day at least!) The vandal needs to have had a recent final warning. In this case in particular, the talk page header makes it clear that the IP is shared among several users. Therefore we can't assume that the current user has seen any of the previous warnings. They need to be warned today'. WP:AIV states clearly: "Editors: Before listing a vandal here make sure that the vandal is active now, has received a proper set of warnings, and has vandalized after a recent last warning, except in unusual circumstances." May 18th is not recent - certainly not recent enough to be sure that the user has seen the warning. Hope that helps. Waggers 14:19, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

References on Toronto Raptors

Because the original references are perfectly valid. FYI, it says so on the WP guidelines. More importantly, the article achieved FA status (17 or 18 votes of support) using those very citations which you changed. The citation format was even approved by some very experienced users. To be fair, using templates is perfectly legitimate. But unless you intend to continually update the article and therefore prefer to use templates, there is no real good reason to use templates. To be sure, quite a number of the NBA GAs and FAs use manual citation styles, such as Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. This style is not limited to NBA articles, see the soccer articles on Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas too. Basically, a good citation usually contains the article name, the article source, the article author, the article date, and if an online source, the accessed/retrieved date. Knighthawks roster

I thought it was easier to add links to the names: (read the brackets doubly here) "[Sandy Chapman]" vs. "[Sandy Chapman|Chapman, Sandy]". It doesn't matter for most players right now, but I'm going to try to make entries for each player this season (with help from others in the Knighthawks Krew). I'm sorry if this throws off the standardization of the rosters.

While we're on the topic of rosters....is there anyway we can show a player is a transitional player (i.e., Steve Toll)? I noticed that the roster code will allow a player to be called a midfielder (MF), but that isn't quite what their position entails. Speedy deletion of Template:User WikiProject Lacrosse

Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame

Wanted to get your input on the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame article. I have recently updated the List of National Lacrosse Hall of Fame members for the US hof using a sortable list. In my sandbox I have done something similar with the Can-lax-hof. I separated the teams from the individuals. Does this make sense? Is chronological better than alphabetical? Or vice versa? It's a violation of the WP:FAIR policy. Album covers are only fair-use in the article about the album the cover is sourced from. I specified that in my edit summary along with the link to the policy. It can't be used anywhwere else. The template rules also specify that only a free-use image can be used in the box. The Real Libs-speak politely 16:26, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

A request for information from a neophyte to a wiser head

Re: Major North American professional sports teams changes

As the full text of the Major professional sports leagues of the United States and Canada article covers (quite well) the term "major sports league" is typically reserved for the team sports that have a large impact on the wider populace, not just the loyal fans. Alas, the NLL and MLL are largely unknown outside of the lacrosse community, which I do think is a shame, as lacrosse is a great sport, IMO. So, unfortunately, it seems that they're just not large enough to really qualify for the list. MLS is a borderline case, as well, but the building of stadiums for it kind of pushes it over the edge into major.

I'm interested to know what you think of the inclusion of the Mexican Premier Division teams. While it is quite true that they are the biggest thing going in Mexico, there is little linkage to the US and Canadian teams, which are tied together in the same leagues, for the most part.oknazevad (talk) 00:58, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

What I've done so far is bring the MILL articles in line with the two Eagle Pro season articles. I don't think I have to do all the other sports as well. I'll get to the NLL articles in time. So I was thinking of converting the NLL seasons navbox to use the semi-standard "years" version of the navbox. I've made up what it would look like side-by-side with what it looks like now at my sandbox. Honestly, I like the existing one better because the numbers aren't as spaced out. If the MILL/NLL had chosen the early part of the decades to change names rather than near the end (1989, 1998), it might work better. :-) --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 11:10, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
