I know you are a Marine, so would you mind chiming in here on the Talk Page? I asked for this page to be protected because of an edit war & your honest comment one way or the other would be appreciated. This is a quick message to all the ambassadors about marking and tracking which articles students are working on. For the classes working with the ambassador program, please look over any articles being worked on by students (in particular, any ones you are mentoring, but others who don't have mentors as well) and do these things:
And of course, don't forget to check in on the students, give them constructive feedback, praise them for positive contributions, award them {{The WikiPen}} if they are doing excellent work, and so on. And if you haven't done so, make sure any students you are mentoring are listed on your mentor profile. With that, of course, please only give instructions on how to move, don't do it for them. Please only let them know what to do and let them do it themselves. If they run into problems, provide further instructions. Do not it for them. This seems to be making a mess of Prof. Obar's grading system and I would like to avoid that. Thanks. - Neutralhomer • Talk • Coor. Online Amb'dor • 06:12, 20 March 2011 (UTC) Cyclura photosHello, Mike! Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have any photos - Cyclura don't pop up very often in Western Australia. But I'll keep an eye out in case something resembling a good jpg swims past me in the orphaned files pages. Cheers! BoundaryRider (talk) 14:18, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Bruinfan12 (talk) 11:03, 28 March 2011 (UTC) Clan MacIntyre recent change.Hi Mike, I was just curious as to your recent change in Note 10 in the article on Clan MacIntyre. Previously, it read: "Cruachan" is also the war cry of Clan Campbell." You deleted the "also." It's true that "Cruachan" is a Campbell war cry, but "Scottish Clans and their Tartans" also shows it as the MacIntyre war cry. Also, Bain, Robert. "The Clans and Tartans of Scotland." Glasgow: Fontana/Collins, 1984, p. 185, gives the MacIntyre war cry as "Cruachan." The Chief's lands at Glenoe were close to Ben Cruachan. Why couldn't the two clans use the same war cry? In which case "also" would be appropriate, I think. Otherwise, it may appear Clan MacIntyre is a branch of Clan Campbell. Please respond on my talk page whenever you have a chance. Thanks. BrownBot (talk) 23:07, 4 June 2011 (UTC) Hey Mike, The article on the Browning BDA (Browning Double Action) talks about a single pistol. In fact there were three pistols that were marketed as the Browning BDM by FN-Herstal.
We need to keep that Browning BDA page to list the three Browning BDA firearms and then have links on that page to talk about the specific Browning BDA. Also due to the confusion the article provides some history which actually pertains to the sig version rather than to the Browning MADE BDA. Most of what she cut was unsourced, trivial or redundant. Now that the content is restored, we've got duplicate scattered mentions that Reno911 is not filmed in Reno (the ultimate in worthless trivia, very few TV shows are filmed in the same location as the setting of the story), among many other problems.Dave (talk) 20:22, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Pope John Paul II articleTHANK YOU for your recent edit to the Pope John Paul II article! It's good to know that I am not the only person who finds the overuse of the word "also" to be distracting (that's the most polite term I can use for it). Mtminchi08 (talk) 02:26, 20 July 2011 (UTC) Mike differentiationThis is a really dumb question. (I am really dumb.) But how do Mike Searson and Mike Christie differ? I have been thinking of the two as one. What are the main differentiators (in Simple English). P.s. Apologies for my confusion.TCO (reviews needed) 19:58, 20 July 2011 (UTC) |
