User talk:Mike Halterman/archive12Carpal TunnelHow did you manage to develop carpal tunnel syndrome from this web-site? How hard do you work on this bloody thing?! Do you have a job or is this, like, your life? Good Lord man, take it easy, and get well soon. Take care eh? Chin up. --Crestville 17:46, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC) Happy Birthday!Happy birthday, Mike! Best wishes. --Whosyourjudas (talk) 03:24, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Newcomer patrol?I've been trying to watch Patricknoddy's edits, and don't feel like adding another person to watch. Would you mind trying to keep an eye on User:Ryanasaurus007's similarly hit and miss edits? Your areas of interest seem to overlap. Sorry about the carpal tunnel--I've got it a bit, but it doesn't seem to be getting worse. I got a couple of these[1] at a local grocery store, that I wear sometimes, that seem to help. Niteowlneils 23:32, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC) BarnstarI award you this nice barnstar. Enjoy! --Lst27 (talk) 01:01, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC) NBC Universal blah blahI agree 100%, and will move it back and leave a firm but friendly note on the user's page, especially since he seems to have disconnect it from it's old talk page, and didn't fix any of the broken redirects. Niteowlneils 04:15, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC) Any particular reason you wanted to know? Like it says at the top of my user talk page, "please do not ask me about my personal life, which I keep separate from Wikipedia". Thanks. —Lowellian (talk)[[]] 10:55, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
No problem. Happy editing. —Lowellian (talk)[[]] 05:01, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC) Thank youI really appreciate your support of my RfA. That was very kind. Joyous 23:57, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC) Peyton PlaceI tried to move the pictures in the Peyton Place article so the template would not be left at the end like that. Frankly, I think it looks rather sloppy the way it is now. Can you understand why I moved them where I did?
A QuestionSorry, Mike, I thought of this after I signed off on the above. Is there a way to access a list of the categories used in Wikipedia? If so, I haven't figured it out. There are time when I designate a category that seems logical - such as "Theatre actors" or "Broadway actors" - and it comes up red instead of as a link. I suspect there's a way to do this that's easier than playing a guessing game! Thanks . . . TOM 13:41, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC) I had a dealing with him where he was doing cut and paste moves of like Laura Bush to Laura Welch Bush, and I had to clean up after him. I wrote on his Talk page that his moves were wrong, and he's deleted them. You may want to talk to him. RickK 20:31, Nov 22, 2004 (UTC) A quick note to say thanksI just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for your support in my request for adminship. It was certainly a wild ride, and I really appreciate you taking some time out to contribute. ClockworkSoul 16:27, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC) The NannyHi, Mike! I think the changes are fine . . . I like the idea of the guest appearances and added a few you hadn't listed. Thanks for giving me the heads-up on the switch to the separate category - I wish other users were as thoughtfully civil as you are! Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving . . . TOM 17:02, Nov 24, 2004 (UTC) Article LicensingHi, I've started the Free the Rambot Articles Project which has the goals of getting users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to...
using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) version 1.0 and 2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to the GFDL (which every contribution made to Wikipedia is licensed under), but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles (See the Multi-licensing Guide for more information). Since you are among the top 1000 most active Wikipedians, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}} template (or {{MultiLicensePD}} for public domain) into their user page, but there are other templates for other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
OR
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}} with {{MultiLicensePD}}. If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know at my talk page what you think. -- Ram-Man 20:21, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC) Can you fit something in there about Guiding Light migrating from radio? RickK 00:57, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC) From what I know, The Guiding Light was a religious program on radio which used soap opera to enlighten us as to how to live a good life. When it migrated to TV, they broadcast the same stories on both mediums. Somewhere along the line it became a standard soap opera and lost its The.
