Sorry, what point did you make that I missed? On the :EL page it specifically says: What should be linked 4. Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews. So why is linking to the review http://www.comicnerd.com site bad? Thanks

Add reason for edits ?It would be very helpful when you cancel a page edit, to say exactly what your reason is. When you delete a new link, it is not helpful just to say this violates the Wikipedia external links policy WP:EL. The policy is about 10 pages long. New people trying their first wikipedia edits and just seeing them deleted for no specified reason, will not feel this is the friendly place as advertised on the Wikipedia welcome pages. Thanks very much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skene 25 (talk • contribs) 21:42, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Wrongly removed links?Hi. I've received a message from you saying my external link doesn't comply with Wikipedia guidelines for adding external links, but in the wiki guidelines: "What should be linked" - it says: "Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews." should be linked, which is why I've added my link to an interview. It specifies that interviews can be linked and I only ever add links to relevant interviews which give wiki users more information on a relevant topic and follow wiki guidelines. Thank you. I have therefore complied with Wiki guidelines by linking to a useful interview.:User:Bezpez2008 —Preceding comment was added at 09:54, 7 April 2008 (UTC) User:GjenvickHi, I was contacted by user:Gjenvick by email about systematic deletions of his links from Wikipedia, and noticed that you are among several people making these edits. I get the sense that you have a bad impression of him and his motivations. My background is three years of editing at WP mostly in the subjects of history, ships, and sailing -- not to mention quite a bit of time helping to develop our policy and guideline pages. I've worked with Paul Gjenvick in the past, where he has been very helpful to me and WP by providing documentation and background on obscure historical and maritime topics. While his site does accept advertising and has some merchandise for sale, his motivation is altruistic coming from a deep love of history and willingness to share. I see that you’ve been a motivated member of WP for several months now and hugely dedicated to protecting the project. Maybe we could talk a bit about how we could work together to incorporate Paul’s information in a way that would make you and others feel more comfortable. Remember that the Wikipedia:External links is merely a style guideline and not an official WP policy page; guidelines help us to make decisions, but don’t mandate rigid actions. Dirk’s robot can be a useful tool, but can also draw incorrect conclusions from the data. One thing that brought this issue to the forefront was Paul changing the name of his site from Steamship.org to Gjenvick.com, and subsequently going into WP to change the addresses of many links at the same time; this gave a huge correlation between his user name and a single URL. At first blush this would appear to be COI, but I don’t see it as more than being helpful. Paul and I discussed today how we can better integrate his knowledge and resources into WP for the benefit of our readers. I kind of randomly picked you out as a starting point for discussion with the spam patrollers, since Dirk is on wikibreak and you were the only other person kind enough to leave a message on Paul’s page. Do you have time to help me with this? Thanks! --Kevin Murray (talk) 23:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC) On break?I noticed that you've not been editing for a while after a flurry of very hard work and enthusiasm in a very hard task for a newcomer (or anyone). I hope that you will stay with us. Don't let a bit of controversy spoil your fun. If you ever need some help, please give me a shout. We need your energy and dedication! Cheers! --Kevin Murray (talk) 02:33, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
