Swedish ranksHej, I noticed that at Major (Sweden) the US rank equivalent in the infobox includes NCOs, which I found a bit strange. Is there a reason for Swedish Majors being compared to US Sergeant Majors? De728631 (talk) 15:06, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
/L Nominations for the Military history WikiProject coordinator electionThe Military history WikiProject coordinator selection process is starting. The piped link in your signature confused me a bit so I was checking similarly named users when I came across Malin (talk · contribs). Since you don't list Vinstagårdsskolan on your user page as one of the articles you have created, am I correct in assuming that Malin (talk · contribs) is not you? —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 03:08, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi Malin. Sorry for the tardy reply - have been a bit busy with work. To answer your question on measuring systemic risk, I admit I have not been keeping up with the academic literature on the topic (point me to any link you know). Not exactly systemic risk, but on the topic of bubble measurement I am entertaining a hypothesis that if we could measure (1) sector/company-wise leverage in the share market, (2) operational leverage for respective sector/company it is possible to see buildup of "irrational exuberance". Beyond that, systemic risk could be a function of global dependencies. Swedish Defense ForcesJust for your information, I've redirected your article Swedish Defense Forces (that's American English - official translations for most European phenomena almost always use British English!) to Swedish Armed Forces, because I see no point in having an article under a paralell name consisting partially of a comment on the translation. If you wish to add information specifically about the organisational structure before Försvarsmakten was formed, Military of Sweden would be the right place, but please use reliable sources in that case. Regards, Tomas e (talk) 16:30, 13 April 2010 (UTC) Military ranks of the Swedish Armed ForcesHello Malin, the recent additions you have made to Military ranks of the Swedish Armed Forces, in particular the section "Difference in meaning of ranks between Sweden and NATO" look very much like WP:OR and WP:POV to me. Could you please provide references to the specific claims you make, including those you have transformed into the image File:OfficerCarrerSWE.png. You may, for example, wish to look up the number of brigades in the US Army and US Marine Corps and compare to the number of colonels in these organisations. I have two possible ideas which may help you : Clean up the Military ranks article first, then consider how you may be able to merge Soldier ranks of Sweden into it. However, this depends on whether you are also going to write a separate article on Officer Ranks. Nevertheless, it's still p^obably best to get one article nearly perfect before you start another closely related one.. What do you think?--Kudpung (talk) 05:37, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Soldier ranks of SwedenHello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Soldier ranks of Sweden. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Military ranks of the Swedish Armed Forces. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Military ranks of the Swedish Armed Forces - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page. If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding Swedish NCOsYou're probably right about Swedish law governing military rank. However, in most countries, rank from sergeant upwards is NCO grade. In the USA even corporals are considered to be NCOs. The problem is not with my editing, it is one of finding a suitable translation, or comparison that our readers from the USA and the UK understand. Anyway, in spite of my help, it looks as if somebody wants to delete your article very quickly. Before this happens, I suggest you copy it to a special page in your user space, and work on it from there.--Kudpung (talk) 06:33, 18 July 2010 (UTC) TalkbackHello, Malin Tokyo. March Madness 2017G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement. The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also. The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now. For the Milhist co-ordinators.
