Editing Pages

I was not trying to vandalize any pages - I was only adding information based on what I saw in pages in other languages. I do not like the thought of being blocked as indefinite punishment for trying to add more information to pages of female figure skaters so that readers can learn more about them. Please do not think of me as disruptive. As you should know, I have a right to edit pages as much as you do.

Dear IP user, thank you for trying to clear this up! Wikipedia's policy (found here) is that information must come from a reliable source: it doesn't matter what the information is, if it does not have a source, then it can be challenged and removed. Rollback granted

Hi Longchess. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

• Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
• Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
• Rollback should never be used to edit war.

Your revert

I was just browsing your contributions following your request for rollback permissions ([1]). Your last revert ([2]) specifically re-added vandalism suggesting a Canadian local politician is a member of a Mexican drug cartel. While we all make mistakes, it'd probably be sensible to take just an extra moment or two to check while reverting vandalism especially on biographies of living persons as even inadvertent mistakes like this can cause real world harm and offence to article subjects? —Tom Morris (talk) 10:15, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

I've been thinking about this: to be more specific, I initially just saw that a field had been blanked and therefore restored the content. I did then realize something was off about the edit and decided to revisit it. However, the IP user had replaced the vandalism with correct information at that point, so I did not take further action. — Longchess (talk) 22:34, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Dick Gregory

Please restore "conspiracy theorist" to the first sentence of the article. Otherwise Citation (1) makes no sense. Please, look at Citation (1). It links to an article which states,"But, for Dick Gregory, who has spent much of his life speaking and writing about the ways in which he believes the government has conspired against Americans..." Citation (1) supports the well known fact that Dick Gregory was an avid conspiracy theorist. RunzeY, sorry for the misunderstanding! I was doing routine vandalism patrol and saw this edit to Zhang Zhidong. Seeing the "0" inserted into "troops", I reverted the changes thinking that it was a test edit. Regarding Thermopylae

I was trying to add Dienekes as one of the "commanders" on the sidebar but somehow messed it up

Reason being is that Spartans were already hardcore and they fought til their knuckles broke, everybody knows that but if Dienekes was notable to be recorded in history by Herodotus, and if he fought a notch above the already godlike standard of other Spartans, then I'd argue he had an important part in the Greek leadership during the battle.

If you could throw it in the sidebar I'd appreciate it.

I am not going to add Dienekes to the "Leaders" section, as I am not well-versed enough with the history of this battle to know his leadership status, if any (fighting potential alone does not confer leadership). If you feel confident in your ability to justify him as a leader, you can add him to the sidebar by putting the following into the "Commander of Combatant 1" section of the sidebar template: *[[Dienekes|Dienekes of Sparta]]{{KIA}}}}, keeping in mind to remove the final set of curly brackets which are currently on Demophilus's listing. However, this addition is likely to be challenged if there is no source to back it up: see Wikipedia's policy on citing sources in line with the policty on verifiability. Feel free to ask me or any other Wikipedia volunteer (such as those at the Teahouse) if you have any questions!
