It's good to hear that you're applying for adminship (about time, too). I was wondering if you weren't interested, and then I thought you had given up the idea when I saw this line on your userpage: 'The only thing keeping me from aspiring to become an admin is that little goblin called real life—plus, well, maybe a few nerves.' But I don't know any experienced admins. Most of the good editors I know are 'almost admin' users, and the only admin I knew retired recently :( Sorry about that, and thanks for your opinion on my subpage. One thing you have to remember in your RfA (assuming you do finally decide to participate), is not to give in to the relentless attack by the voters. They will expose your bad points, and you have to stay strong and defend yourself using common sense, civility and maturity. I would never dream of applying any time soon, but you obviously have the guts ^_^. I wish you luck, as your gonna need it. You reverted my edit of the Shankhill Butchers article, describing it as unconstructive. I changed "cohorts" to "henchmen"; this was purely a linguistic edit, as "cohort" literally means a unit of soldiers in the ancient Roman army, and is wrongly used to mean "comrade", "companion" or "henchman". Any metaphorical use of the word should retain its nature as a collective noun. If you feel "henchmen" is too judgmental, perhaps "comrades" would be more appropriate? Regards, Manormadman. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Manormadman (talk • contribs) 05:16, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
La... I haven't really reviewed you yet, but just a few comments off the cuff:
Please start carrying on conversations on the page where they begin. It is very difficult to follow conversations when you have to jump between pages. This can potentially hurt an RfA candidate as an "attack" or "criticism" on your talk page will appear to be unanswered. (The only time I don't continue on my talk page is when I am giving feedback to people RE an admin coaching request.)
I don't know how old you are, I honestly don't want to know, but your page strikes me as a teenage girl. Please don't take offense at that. But realize that the impression is that of a teenager. Right or wrong, there is a segment of the community that will vote oppose based off of age. Even if it is just speculative age.
I haven't looked at your edits, but your edits in article building space is limited. Vandal fighters (which you appear to be) run into opposition when they don't have more experience building articles.
There are some other areas that caught my attention, but I would have to look closer at your contribs before I said anything. Those were just some observations that MIGHT hamper an RfA. Again, I'll look closer at ya when I get a chance.---BalloonmanPoppaBalloon19:58, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, La Pianista. Actually, I was surprised to notice on the talk page that you weren't already an admin, but if you're going to become one, I am support you 100%. Anyway, replied here. Again, I think you're doing a wonderful job, so don't stop now! Cheers, ~ Troy (talk) 22:46, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Motto of the day
Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.
When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold(t/a/c)03:22, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I, Darkside2000, WIKIGOD of WikiNation, the creator of it, have found you to have royal blood. you now qualify to be the Queen of the nation. Editor510 is the offical king and now you must fight for your position of queen in the War of the Wikis. State your desired positional options, cause and name of your Faction and also all about it in my talk page and also in the Wikination page. May the War commence! Darkside2000 (talk) 09:02, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the request. I would happily block that IP, but, as you can see in the previous discussions above, I am not yet an administrator. Thus, I cannot block him/her/it/them. :)
I just wanted to ask, how exactly does one get hold of a status icon? How do you deal with the codes and etc? I tried planting one on my page, but it just became redlinked, frustrating really. If you could help me out, I would much appreciate it. Regards, A Prodigy~In Pursuit of Perfection~21:24, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here is my code for the template (it shows up even better in edit mode):
You can customize the font faces, colors, and images used. The words before the equal signs are what I call "hotkeys" (that might be an incorrect term, but I'm still a n00b at heart, anyways). So when you use the template on your userpage, transclude it, and type the hotkey after a pipeline. Hence, if you are online, type {{User:A Prodigy|in}}, with "in" being the hotkey.
And one addendum: Make sure that what you type corresponds to the correct caps, since the template is caps-sensitive. "In" will be redlinked, whereas "in" will not, catch? :) —LaPianista!talk/sign04:03, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm really suprised you havn't received this award from someone else earlier. It's obvious you take great pride in your userpage. All your sub-pages are very smart and neatly organised. For some strange and twisted reason, it even makes me happy just looking at your page (:-|). Enjoy this award and take care in future. Regards, A Prodigy~In Pursuit of Perfection~19:19, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You get the most unusual awards around here. I remember some loony idiot recently gave you a 'Wikipedia Motivation Award' as well... *whistles innocently* :) ChamalTalk02:07, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Heh.. yeah. BTW, I see you've changed your signature. I'm not sure if this can be a huge problem, but according to Wikipedia:Sign#Internal_links we are not supposed to have links to our Guestbooks!? (It's not clear, but I think that's what it means) I don't know if this is a big deal, but just thought I should tell you, since you're going to be an admin soon ;) ChamalTalk03:21, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The changes were minor, but they do make a huge difference... I think it must be my old age and sexism coming through. ;=) just changing the color from pink to light blue gave the page a more mature look!---BalloonmanPoppaBalloon03:38, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All right, howzabout the new one? It has a rather humble "s" in place of the whole caboodle, so it can't possibly be "disruptive," right?
And yes, Balloonman, I actually like the color scheme here better. For a while, I got bugged with the pinky pink - if you knew me in real life, you'd know that I'm anything but girly. —LaPianista(T•C•S)05:09, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's already watched, you don't have to leave it again :) As for the link, I have no idea. Does it say we shouldn't link to pages like guestbooks or we shouldn't have large links like that... Balloonman, maybe you can help since you are an experienced editor? ChamalTalk05:17, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I think the old pink scheme for both your signature and userpage(s) looked better :-(. I personally don't think the level of maturity a user acts with is deduced from the colour of their signature or userpage :-|. A Prodigy~In Pursuit of Perfection~09:48, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry
Sorry I haven't been talking for a while. School just started in England. Huh? OK what the heck is question like that. First I'm part of one micronation and suddenely I'm a friend of the Queen of Wkination. My life is strange. How's your classroom going. Chubbennaitor07:57, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Need your opinion again. I'm currently reconstructing my [[|User:Chamal_N|userpage]], and I have changed colurs/icons a bit. Can you tell me if the new layout and colours etc. are Ok, (I have a feeling that they are too bright or kind of glowing) and please tell me if you think I should change something? Only the upper part is changed, not the lower part with the collapsible navboxes. I want to know if the page will look all right before I change them. Thanks. ChamalTalk03:34, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's a little too bright - no, perhaps phosphorescent would be a better word. :)
That's what I thought. I think I'll settle for Azure. Making it too colorful will make people think I'm 7 years old or something, and the weird shapes won't help much too. ChamalTalk04:10, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
ummm (see the reason for the title yet?) This will sound rude but the big name you made for your userpage could you create one for me? File:Blush.png Oh my god I'm such a wuss putting that there still it's a laugh. And I'm suuuuch a chav for putting the 'oh my god' there. Cheesy smile. Chubbennaitor15:10, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
umm could you please read all of the comments please. Umm what have you done for the Wikination so far? I'd love to help with it and since when and how did you become the Queen. Chubbennaitor17:01, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I don't care what font. I don't care what I'm called either and no I didn't mean the admin class although I wish I could but I don't rally want to be yet in a few years maybe. By the way do you want to become part of the micronation Two Chairs talk to my friend Cdhaptomos about it it's great fun well maybe and I didn't see your english spelling because I write English and not American but I'm proud if you've managed it. Chubbennaitor15:07, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well it seems that we're the few people who actually stay loyal to Wikipedia. Are you sure it's a mcronation and doesn't really need much but you being a citizen. Chubbennaitor20:01, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Re:Logo
From my oh so obviously professional veiw, I think it looks amazing. To be honest, I think the hardest part of my logo was trying to find out where I could download the font. (it's the font on the cover of all the Twilight books) But I got it. I love the blue colors you used in your though, they're my fav colors. :) ~ BellaSwan?19:35, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and good luck at your RFA, if you decide to do it. I've considered it, but I know almost positively that if I tried right now, I wouldn't make it. I would probably need to do it just to see what I need to improve on, but I'm afraid that the final vote might be so demoralizing that I would never try it again. But, I do encourage you to go for it. Good Luck! I'll be voting! ~ BellaSwan?19:42, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Mmmm, good idea. But I think I'll do it later. *procrastinates* Btw, have I told you that I link your new sig yet? It matches your user page layout and everything. Very... nifty. ~ BellaSwan?01:14, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ha, I know what you mean. My mom isn't exactly a perfectionsist (that's my dad), but my mom just has a way of using common sense to solve problems so well that it makes me look stupid. Organizational skills, and just skills in general seem to just be one of those mom things. ~ BellaSwan?01:41, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya
Sorry- I do want to continue editing , my sister just thought that since i wasn't going on the computer that much that I would just stop editing or learning how to edit. But I still want to and I am going on the computer more frequently now, and I don't know anything else that I really want to learn about- but I will keep you posted!! ~ CaliforniaGirl18:19, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry couldn't spell/remember that princess-y word. Quite frankly, I'm lost. I would be waging... war? On vandals? Seeing as I can't even spl or remember something I just saw a minute ago, you could see how a little help in this very confusing topic would come in handy.Yes, I did spell 'spl' wrong on purpose, I haven't lost that much sleep... yet. I did want to ask you how your trip to Utah went. I'm Mormon, and since Salt Lake is like the world capital of Mormons, I've always wanted to go, but never had. How was it? ~ BellaSwan?23:32, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't forgotten about you either. But...my power? Actually, in DFW, we're quite fine, thank you. :) It's the Houston and Galveston people (perhaps like yourself) hit worst, I believe.
Your userpage seems to have been changed by an IP address. I didn't revert, since it doesn't seem to be vandalism but more of an attempt to "improve" I guess. And I wasn't sure if it was you, maybe forgetting to sign in? ChamalTalk±00:29, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And, erm, what's with saying that you feel hated by me (on your userpage)? I don't hate you, and I don't think I hate anybody on the wiki...well, except some really, really screwy vandals. Honest!
Sorry to bother you, but you now have a new assignment. And, uh I've got a new system on my page. Now, I've realized, for proper wikiquette, it's best to continue conversations on the page where they started. *bonks head* So...I'll template you, and just follow the link to get my reply, kapeesh? As if you haven't noticed already...
Scratch that, I think that Chamal has posed a question on the WikiNation's talk page. I'll wait for a reply and see.
And could you please, pretty please, with a Holy Banana on top, watch my talk page so that we can carry conversations here without me having to template you? Thanx muchly, —LaPianista(T•C•S)04:23, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's nothing compared to yours. How did you get soooo many? Anyway I'm getting lonely and running out of things to do. No-one talks to me any more and I just don't have time to welcome people any more. I'll get round to it. The thing should say who viewed it? How do you get soo many people to know you last time I had what you have was in June and hen is was rare anyone spoke to me. Chubbennaitor08:42, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've given up on them. None reply and are rarely on. No-one has not signed my secret page. I don't revert vandalism much because it doesn't get in my way. I've never been vandalised ever. I've given up adopting because no-one's interested and I'm just not there for them when they are there, I'd love to co-adopt with someone who knows what they are doing more than I do. I was never adopted and I worked it out for myself so I never needed to. I'm sure I should know more but I'm fine thank you doing what I'm doing now. You should go here please go to the middle and go there. It's nothing much. Chubbennaitor17:54, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I try and do minor grammar and copy editing for pages that have been flagged for cleanup. Is there any way I should indicate that the page has been cleaned up and remove the flag on the page? Mkustel (talk) 04:10, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The best thing to do is to post a note on the talk page of the article, stating that you've copyedited the article or section. A quick note, that's all. If all goes well, and no one opposes to removing the tag, you can remove the tag in a few days if someone doesn't object.
If someone does object, try to work out the situation maturely and try to work out the other person's concerns. If you and others are still at odds, you can always go to Requests for Comment to see what the fellas there think (this would best come after a week or two of discussion amongst yourselves, first).
Believe me, I've seen a few ugly conflicts that could have been spared by a word or two not said. Use your judgment, and remember that consensus, not power or position, is the key to success.
Great. And how exactly would I remove the cleanup tags? Sorry I'm fairly new to Wikipedia, I just have a weird passion for editing for style and grammar. Mkustel (talk) 23:02, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Disregard Chubby's comments. This came from a different discussion.
The cleanup tags look something like {{cleanup|date=Month Year}}. Just click the edit tab and delete it. It couldn't be easier. :)
Taking your *hint*, I took a look at the article Piano Concerto No. 2 (Rachmaninoff). Right now, the article is more or less greek to me. It's not because of language problems, but because I understand nothing about music. Because I know nothing about music, I don't understand the musicy words here. My area of interest is the military, very different and very far from music ;) Anyway, I think the article can be expanded a lot more, and here are two links with a lot of info that may be very useful if you're going to do it.
These were hidden at the bottom of the references section. There's one more book there, which might be useful I guess, if you can find it. I'm not going to be bold here and edit the article, because I feel I might harm it rather than improve it because of my lack of knowledge on the subject. (And looking at the talk page, you musicians seem to cling on very passionately to your ideas. If I do something wrong, I'll be slaughtered. They scared me away) Good luck with it then, if you're going to do it :) ChamalTalk±13:00, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, Chamal, you didn't have to do that! File:Blush.png I was only joking. I knew your expertise was in the Indian/Sri Lankan military; I didn't mean push you out of your way to the piranha pool (they can be vicious, I know).
Thanks so much for the links. I didn't really think you'd do it...

Their creators create them by replicating and fusing their scripts (comparable to living DNA). Of course, this is where we get such gems villains as Cluebot IV and VoABot II. Thus, it is grammatically correct to refer to them as Cluebot the Fourth and VoaBot the Second. —LaPianista(T•C•S•R)02:36, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(single double edit conflict) I just noticed this from above: "Seriously, Sinebot-bleeding-crazy-dude." Why crazy? I think that that is a personal attack...time to go the WP:AN/I. You know...that is just plain mean. How would you feel if you were crazy and some random dude on the street walks up to you and says, "Dude, you are crazy!" That's like those muggers that prowl around, offering free hugs....
Oooo good idea. Remind me on, like, March 29th or something...the evil kitteh-murderer "Kittehmaster" will, once more, arise out of the depths of...not Hell, so....where?(Somewhere) to spread terror, wreak havoc and stain the servers red (and green, for a 4-month late Christmas celebration). Will SineBot be able to stop his evil lurkings? Find out next time, in the next season of....BLOOOOOODY MURDER!. Anyway, cheers! -talk-the_ed17-contribs-02:49, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I should be more clear! On the edit counter, it keeps track of where I have edited....on the list of user talk page edits, you are in 5th. ...and the first sentence was just me being stupid again. XD —the_ed17— 05:31, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
