FYIFYI there's an ANI thread about an IP block you made. Short version, the party the IP attacked thought it should have been longer. writing competitionHi there. Im looking to have a writing competition held in September and I am looking for a couple people to help me with their thoughts and ideas. I have had some input on the competition and have had several chats with people outside the wikipedia talk pages and I have decided to keep the competition limited to the following restraints: 1. Judges and competitors are separate and there has to be a finite list of them. 2. The competition should range from a few days to no more than 2 weeks, depending on the theme. Not a year long competition and not multiple stages. 3. The theme will be either creating ONE new article, expanding a stub, illustrating a large article with no pictures, editing an article in crisis or something similar to these ideas. If its successful we can have more competitions with other themes. 4. My general idea (but this needs serious development) is to have each article judged two or three times. The top ten are then announced as finalists and every judge then reviews those articles and the top three are announced. 4. Simple is good. Decide theme, decide rules, find people, define judges, define scoring criteria, assign topic or stub or whatever, come up with a way to discourage other users from working on the page (by far most difficult part requiring a lot of ingenuity and good ideas). Judge. Sounds simpler than it really is doesn´t it? 5. Keep it informal, simple and fun. 6. Find a name for it. Wanna help me with this? I´ll set up a new page and hope to build a team of three people to make this happen. Shabidoo | Talk 16:22, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Contents BoxI know that Contents Boxes are automatically created. I guess I should have been more specific in my initial question. Is there a way I can make a custom Contents Box and put my own Contents in it? I specifically want one so that I can index all of my projects. ThomasHorn7 (talk) 22:51, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Re: Office TigerYes, it's not every day you wake up to find threads on VPM singling you out. At least it wasn't abuse, or accusations ANI-style. Still, looks to have been covered. Thanks for the heads up, - Jarry1250 [Humorous? Discuss.] 09:01, 13 August 2010 (UTC) Categories: NRHP & California ?Hi Killiondude, Good questions on simplifying the Category: & NRHP & California tree. Usually any "Category:Lists of xyz" are only for list articles, so perhaps Category:Lists of National Register of Historic Places in California is best under Category:National Register of Historic Places in California ? In interim spirit have temporarily done that, and then moved Category:National Register of Historic Places by County in California under Category:Lists of National Register of Historic Places in California as they are lists. Ideally "Cat:NRHP by County" title would be renamed to "Cat.:List of NRHP by County in CA" - but it gets very long ? DacconoTwo separate administrators identified Daccono as a sock puppet of Bonaparte/Iaaasi these are administrators Orangemike and Shirik (who also blocked indef). Further multiple non-administrators identified him as an obvious case. The banning policy prevents banned users from making non-authorized edits. Now there is the opinion of PeterSymonds a user who unblocked but also interestingly says "I would've blocked based on behavioural evidence just the same meaning there is in the opinion of 3 administrators a behavioural correlation between the banned user and this account. What's your opinion on the matter. Hobartimus (talk) 18:41, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello Killiondude! I just received your message. It is pretty frustrated to be accused by the same person that I'm a sockpuppet. Please notice that in spite of User:Tiptoety warning (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AHobartimus&action=historysubmit&diff=373210968&oldid=372044537) and even the sockpuppetry accusation was proved to be false (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Daccono), the editor User:Hobartimus still reverts my work (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_Hunyadi&action=history). Last change I made???Hi, this isn't the first time I've gotten a "you've changed something" message. I don't edit pages on Wikipedia. This isn't a shared computer either, so it's almost like someone is using my ip or something? I don't know, I'm not too computer savvy. I got a message ages ago about editing a Kelly Clarkson page too. To be honest it is fucking annoying ;p. Can you help me out at all? X & Geography of XHi Killiondude, Thanks for the category work appreciation. The 'wiki-gardener goal' is for good "about places-history" articles to be findable through an 'expected' cat. in wiki's country-state-county system. Help me learn to create 2 listsI am continuing to learn editing of the M734 Fuze article and the sentence below is for teaching purposes. The sentence has two inline citations that appear in a list under the Reference section since it has the Reflist. Questions: 1) How would it have to be written to have the second citation appear under the Patents heading?? 2) Is is appropriate to have an external link in the second citation if it supports the sentence? 3) If the external link is legal in Wiki, is wording needed to show Google as the source?

Yolo County CourthouseThanks for the pointer. You'll notice that I didn't edit the statewide list — it appears that nobody ever updated the Yolo County total on that list to include the courthouse, and that was one reason that I didn't trust the inclusion. The listing date was another issue; because it was given solely as "1986", and because the statewide list showed Yolo County with 23 entries, I assumed that someone had looked at nrhp.com, noticed that it showed a courthouse listed in 1986 that wasn't on the list, and added it without checking behind the scenes. I've again edited the list to provide more details and reference the PDF of 1987 recent listings. While not every template uses spaces right now, the trend over the last 18 months or so has definitely been towards using spaces (and full words rather than abbreviations) in template titles, and this isn't really controversial. RE: WikiCal and said postsDear Killiondude, Hi Ya! I only asked about The Purple's schooling in case he attended in another state or country and perhaps could be excused for his lack of knowledge. The Beach Boys are icons and should be mentioned, which I did not. Steinbeck is a given. The Purple said this about Cesar: "Chavez because a state that has 8-10 million Mexicans should probably have a biography up there." As a Mexican-American, I found that racist and insulting but was polite about it. I had no intention of causing any divisiveness, but you may want to know that Purple was taken to Ani for insulting me before, as he has again on my talk page. I was very careful only to repeat his own words back to him. If you double check, you will see at no time did I "attack and/or lie." Yes, I speak plainly, but like Jack Nicholson said. "..some people just can't *Handle* the truth!" LOL! K'Dude you did an excellent job in assessing the situation and I look forward to working with you. WP:FFUHi,Killiondude, I think you had better thank my wife, who was complaining about all my time spent online doing that work. Over a year ago I spent a lot of time at WP:IFU and then WP:FFU as it was renamed. I still think there is plenty of backlog if you look further back. The logo requests should be valid for years. One niggling issue that should be fised is that the non-free logo template is clashing with the ifu a/ifu b templates, the non-free logo closing the collapse box early. Sticky prodsHi Killiondude, I thought I'd better bring your attention to one of the odder quirks of the sticky prod process, it is for literally unsourced articles not poorly sourced ones. In the last RFC I tried to broaden it to include articles "sourced" from Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin or Utube, but failed to get consensus as some editors wanted to keep this a brightline test. So whilst an IMDB sourced article like Peter Parasiliti is clearly in need of work, it doesn't qualify for a sticky prod. Cheers ϢereSpielChequers 10:38, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ambassador ProgramHi! Thanks for signing the Online Ambassador interest list. We're gearing up for the next term right now, and the Wikipedia Ambassador Program will be supporting considerably more courses, with considerably more student activity... possibly upwards of 500 students who will need mentors. If you're still interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors in the coming term. If that's something you want to do, please apply! You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones). I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:35, 16 December 2010 (UTC) Merry Christmas!Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Your comment at Files for uploadAsking an IP editor with one edit's experience to fill out a FUR template is a bit much. I think either you do it or don't. I myself have uploaded several fair use images from requests on this page in the past, and not once did I ask them to fill out a fair use rationale. Half of Wikipedia's power users probably can't fill one out correctly for God's sakes. Look, your efforts here are appreciated, but I just found it unbearable that you asked a newbie to fill out such an intricate template. Killiondude (talk) 07:16, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

If you conclude the latter, can I make the request here that you just delete the whole thread? Regards — Peter S Strempel | Talk 10:51, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Parker LundgrenI have disputed the PROD>. Thank you for using the correct rationale. However, I was able to find easily sources and added a couple. It still needs improvement. It does appear to meet GNG (significant coverage from reliable sources that are at least national if not international) and maybe NMUSIC (associated with at least two notable acts). Consider finding the sources yourself in the future even though the burden is not on you but the creator. Cptnono (talk) 06:12, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Skillet (band)Edit war in progress again regarding past members... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Calabe1992 (talk • contribs) 20:48, 12 April 2011 (UTC) ListenCould You just please move the Userspace of mine you recently deleted into a Userspace on Uncyclopedia?? That took 3 hours to make, and I know that it was dumb, but it was only created on Wikipedia because I couldn't on Uncyclopedia. Could you just hack up the contents up temporarily, and put it under an Uncyc userpage on the same name? Also, I didn't know they would just delete a personal userspace. Thanks.... * Hugs Killion dude for no apparent reason. * - Another n00b (talk) 11:30, 16 April 2011 (UTC) Hiya, Can you please please help me, by looking at this article, and provide any feedback/comments etc on the talk page?
It's part of the US University liaison thingy, and there's only a few weeks left on their course. Anything - any comments at all - would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chzz ► 03:56, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
Deletion of divertsHi Killiondude, I was asking for speedy deletion for 3 useless diverts, but it was rejected. Neither on deWiki nor on ptWiki I had that kind of problem. Dont you think, you as enWiki, are boiling too much hot water just for nothing? What is da problem? Do you want to rise up your article statistics by rejecting speedy deletion of useless diverts? It sounds too me like that. A comrade on deWiki told me yesterday, that he found 80!!!!!!!! diverts with his Bot on enWiki. Really ridiculous. Nice day.--Cruks (talk) 15:52, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
The most nondescriptive section header I could think ofI know that coming from me this could easily be taken as a bad thing, but I love how you delete things, squishy. Granted, I dunno what standards for this sort of thing you lot actually have, and something tells me I do not need to tell you this, but do keep up the amazing. ~ Isarra (talk) (stalk) 03:10, 18 April 2011 (UTC) The Signpost: 18 April 2011

Consider helping out at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback?Greetings, saw you left WikiGuides; I left also since I just wasn't getting much response for my time. Good program overall I'd imagine, just wasn't working for me. If you are also interested in helping noobs in an environment with a high response rate, noobs eager for help, and one you can do totally on your own schedule, I'd suggest you check us out at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback. We're pretty understaffed right now, but the noobs really love the service, and I've personally helped tons of folks turn pretty "meh" articles into C or even B class articles with just a few 5-10min bursts of my time. We could really use the help, and you may find it fine, so by all means drop by, maybe give it a shot once or twice and see if you like it! MatthewVanitas (talk) 03:38, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Brooke FraserHello, You wrote me a message about the edits I had made to the Brooke Fraser wikipedia entry. I spent a lot of time researching the content I put in as I am a fan of her music. The two sections I took out were both miss-quotes (one was about her old management company) and the other about her personal views that if you read the reference article is a clear mis-quote. The information I put in was referenced from her website and two recent interviews she did (one referencing the poor representation of her on Wikipedia) which prompted my edits. I am in no way trying promote Brooke's career but rather give her fans more information, especially regarding her third album where there is a serious lack of content on considering it has been her most successful album to date. The profile photo is also clearly a photo taken by a fan and doesn't represent her well at all. Please can you reinstate my edits as they took me a long time to do. Sincerely, Killymilly —Preceding unsigned comment added by Killymilly (talk • contribs) 18:07, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Brooke FraserKilliondude, Thank you for the quick response. It's obvious that I am new to Wikipedia editing and was a little over my head. I had a careful read of your response as well as the Wikipedia guidelines and help page and made the changes to the Brooke Fraser article taking great care to check my references and links. It has been a good learning experience for me! I am keen to contribute more in the future. Yobot's blocks so farHi. Since you mentioned my blocks so far and my tension to unblock my own bot, I would like to explain my point of view aside to the main discussion. It's better like that so we clear the things one after the other before they become enormous.
I hope I cleared it out a bit. -- Magioladitis (talk) 01:48, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Edit summaryThis wasn't a "fix", but a reversion. The change was a deadpan style more consistent with the general tone of the page. It's an individual preference, and I don't particularly care which one is used, but the edit summary could potentially be interpreted as misleading (just a heads up; I don't plan on changing it back.) Un-CSD?Hi, I am unsure how to deal with this. It appears (now that it has a heading) that it is actually intended as a real article. It was originally tagged by someone else as patent nonsense. I recognized what looked like words from some language I've done some subtitling in and have determined it seems to be Filipino - though I still (via Google Translate) cannot make much sense of it - I suspect because it is lacking accent marks and such. It seems it may be a legitimate attempt to create an article on the city in question. Not sure how to proceed. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 06:18, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

VPP responsePer this, I didn't intend for my response to be that long. Sometimes it just happens that way. I hope you will understand if I take your response with a grain of salt, because as an admin you will have a completely different perspective than mine. Yours is as an existing admin, while mine is from the point of view of a member of the community to whom admins are supposed to be answerable. I hope you get a chance to read the whole thing instead of the TLDR you left. Jim Miller See me | Touch me 22:33, 9 June 2011 (UTC) The Signpost: 13 June 2011

Conflict of InterestI'm new to this wiki thing. I appreciate the "talk" about what is and isn't conflict of interest and how to properly edit. I dont know how to change my username, but I have opened a different account that is not the company's I am editing name. What I did add to the page I edited was basic knowledge that I got from 3 party sources. Not new's papers, but not from the company's website. None of the material added was biast or should be seen as advertisment. It is just knowledge about the establishment. I updated some of the things that were previously added and elaborated on some parts that were vague. I believe that the article lives up to the COI guidelines. I am not sure where it goes from here. I do not plan to bully anyone from posting on the page what seems appropreiate. Hope to hear if there back from you.... unless its bad news. :) Thanks in advance. A barnstar for you!
Deletion of Masterofgo.sgf?Hello! I note you deleted Masterofgo.sgf but I can't find the reason why (unless it's the "unsupported file format" but why would that be an issue, I see many other such files?) I used to use that file quite a bit; it also leaves this page The Master of Go with a dangling link, which should at the very least be removed. Thanks in advance!
