MLAs

Just so you know, the succession footer box at the bottom shouldn't actually be added to an MLA's article if it already has an infobox at the top — the succession boxes are an old way of doing things before infoboxes became standard, and the infobox provides all the same information anyway. We should actually be removing the succession boxes whenever possible, and adding {{Infobox Politician}} instead. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 06:15, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your riding articles

They look great - well done. As for the "quality control" box, I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about. My best guess is that it has something to do with the implementation of flagged revisions, which is supposed to be sort of in progress, but nothing like that is showing up for me. Oh, and if you want to contact me, as you just did, there's no need for the {{helpme}} That's for putting on your own page when you want any experienced Wikipedian to come by and answer your questions. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 20:34, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting deletion of "South Qu`Appelle"

{{helpme}}I would like an administrator to delete the article I created called "South Qu`Appelle" because it has the archaic apostrophe ( ` ) character in its Wiki-title instead of the more common ( ' ). I think users will more readily find the article if the Wiki-title contains the ( ' ) character rather than the ( ` ) character. Jwkozak91 (talk) 00:09, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You should be able to move the article. Click 'move' at the top of the page, and follow the directions. //roux   00:12, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Francis

Sorry for the long delay... don't come around much anymore. Anyway, that page used to only contain the word "francis" and nothing else. -Sn0wflake (talk) 04:23, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Athabaska Article Merger

I added Athabasca (former Saskatchewan provincial electoral district) to your merger idea. I believe that Athabasca (former Saskatchewan provincial electoral district) and Athabasca (Saskatchewan provincial electoral district) should be merged because the ridings are from the same area and that there is no reason why these two articles should be separate. The size of the article is not a problem at the present time. As for Île-à-la-Crosse (electoral district) I don't know that district enough to say. Are they in the same area? If you could explain the idea it would be a help. Thanks. Ndchriste (talk) 22:18, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is a lake located at approx. 54.5 degrees north, and 107.8 degrees west called "Île-à-la-Crosse". My theory is that the Athabasca riding was split in two in 1917 - the northern 3/4s named after Lac Île-à-la-Crosse, and the southern part named after a "Jackfish Lake", 19 km north of North Battleford (plausible?). In 1934, the Athabasca riding regained its old name, while Jack Fish Lake was renamed Meadow Lake.

Thoughts? Jwkozak91 (talk) 06:05, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

I would need to see maps and I can't get a hold of any maps before the 1991 election. But what you said makes sense because Athabasca exist every election that Île-à-la-Crosse doesn't so if we could create three sections in the Athabasca page, one for Athabasca (1934-), one for Île-à-la-Crosse, and one for Athabasca (1908-1912) then that would probably be best and get rid of the Athabasca (former Saskatchewan provincial electoral district) page in the mean time.

Sound good? Ndchriste (talk) 20:07, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes please, let's merge both "Athabasca" (1908-1912) and "Île-à-la-Crosse" (1917-1934) into the modern Athabasca riding page. :-) Jwkozak91 (talk) 04:27, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What up wit this?!

How is this any different from what I'm trying to do here and here? And why does this work (see here) while the others don't? -Jwkozak91 (talk) 18:49, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Try remove the category, or place it in <noinclude></noinclude> tags. 930913(Congratulate) 19:01, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother people again, but the suggested fix didn't work. -Jwkozak91 (talk) 19:14, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Response, Saskatchewan general election, 2011

Yes, Jwkozak91, I am quite sure that Corey O'Soup is the nominated Saskatchewan Party candidate in Saskatoon-Riversdale. You will find a press release on the party website supporting that claim. The other two, I'm not as sure as I am about the first one, but I am pretty sure. And, lastly, I don't know which Moose Jaw riding Larissa Shasko is running in. The Green Party website only lists her as a prospective candidate with no specific riding as of yet. I will note, however, that she did run in Moose Jaw Wakamow in the previous provincial election, held in 2007. Just keep your eyes open I guess. I hope that was helpful.
