ThanksThank you so much for the barnstar. It brightens an otherwise rather gray day. One small request, though: in the interest of accuracy, would you mind if I edit it to use {{The Help Desk Barnstar}}, since I post on the Help desk rather than the Reference desk? No one will have to be the wiser. --Teratornis (talk) 17:45, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Lumos3 (talk) 09:20, 15 May 2008 (UTC) True Scotsman/DYK/AfDHi there, thanks for your support; I'm finished work on the article as far as I can tell, but I'm curious if there is anything more I should be doing now. I had thought of listing it on the Wikipedia:Scottish Wikipedians' notice board page as an article needing attention/improvement so some fresh eyes can attack it; good idea/bad idea? Last question: the AfD tag was created at 2:20am or thereabouts on the 12th; so will the discussion be closed exactly 5 days/120 hours/7200 minutes/432'000 seconds after it started? Or should I relax a bit? Finaly (yeah, I know I said 'last question' two questions ago, all men are liars), would you be so kind as to nominate True Scotsman for Did You Know if it survives AfD (Dear God... I'm anthropomorphising my article, I almost said 'He') as you suggested the other day? Thanks again for the support, JmackJmackaerospace (talk) 20:29, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
5/17 DYK--Bedford 15:49, 17 May 2008 (UTC) May 2008Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Florence Scovel Shinn, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal. Your removal of this template has been reverted. Thank you. The article contains exactly five citation -- two of which have been tagged as unreliable -- they are to biographical info given by fellow inspirational writers, not to serious biographical sources, and one is a bare mention of her by a third inspirational author. The Refimprove-template was thus valid. HrafnTalkStalk 03:40, 18 May 2008 (UTC) <copied to Talk:Florence Scovel Shinn where shows reason given>

(Given up on the indents) jeez Jules thanks for the donuthought but Ive just lost 9kg in 6 weeks and...! All Ive read of Mike Dash was a bit of Tulipomania. But I like academic types who can also write engagingly for a bigger audience and I also like exploring arcane bits of knowledge that some disparage as trivia. I currently torture students with the question "what time is it at the South Pole?" which when you follow it all through leads you to question assumed fundamentals such as the possibility of nailing down time and space on a tricky bit of topography such as our globe, particularly those corners we are close to. Mike Dash also uses his real name here, as indeed I almost do, but I vaguely recall your user name is a bit of a puzzle?clues to which are no longer on your page...? RD moving - how (not when/where/why)Hello, Julia! I just posted my input to you on this topic in the ongoing RD discussion there, so that it might be read by others whose input is welcome and more likely to surface there than here. To make myself plain here: I have cringed at the wording of some of your moves, of the "gently-lead-you-by-the-hand" ilk. In my work with the Internet community (predating my Wikipedia activity by many years) and the likelihood of cultural mismatches between posters even using ELF, I tend to err on the side of politeness to avoid possible offense. Fusty as the result may be, I think it's warranted and more easily excused than a flip remark that seems fun to most but flippant or worse to the unknown recipient. Just (but not only) my opinion; for what it's worth! -- Cheers, Deborahjay (talk) 11:31, 5 July 2008 (UTC) Where are you? You're not allowed to take a break from Wikipedia, you know.
