crystal ballish reception of shrek forever afterThe reason I blanked that section, is the way it is currently worded. "The reception so far" is a sort of crystal ballish way of predicting the performance of the movie, and you are basically doing original research of the end result of the RT score. riffic (talk) 00:51, 12 May 2010 (UTC) Spider-Man 4 redirectsHi. Soliciting your inputHi. There's an attempt to bring the History of Spider-Man article, which needs enormous work, up to encyclopedic standards. You were among the editors in the deletion discussion, and it'd be good to get your input on, and edits to, the work-in-progress at User:Spidey104/Fictional history of Spider-Man sandbox. With regards, --Tenebrae (talk) 04:53, 3 June 2010 (UTC) I suppose someone (me/you) may as well start quality referencing the list, otherwise unsourced "put your favourite archenemy on WP" will never stop. I'm almost regretting putting the list back up xD P.S. Because of your cursive breaking the layout, wikEd no longer works. — Hellknowz ▎talk 12:06, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Fictional history of Spider-ManFollowing three attempts at having this page deleted, a number of editors collaborated on bringing this multiply-tagged article up to policy and guideline standards of Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction). Comments were solicited at Talk:Fictional history of Spider-Man#Rewrite since May 26, and a final draft, created over a month of editorial input, was completed and put up for final comment at Talk:Fictional history of Spider-Man#Rewrite and replacement on June 25. On June 30, this consensus version, which confirms to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction), will replace the current page Fictional history of Spider-Man. As you have contributed to that page, we wanted to alert you to the opportunity for final comments. Thanks, --Tenebrae (talk) 17:40, 29 June 2010 (UTC) Just so you know, I nominated us for a DYK over at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created/expanded on June 28. Fictional history of Green GoblinSure, why not? That's good initiative, and when you think about it, it makes sense to get the model established in a related area with editors who know the characters and have worked together before. Hi. Why isn't IMDb reliable? The top 50 lists are picked by regular voters, who aren't publicly or privately known in order to protect from fixed voting, and don't you think people who aren't professionals deserve some say? C'mon. :) And why doesn't Rotten Tomatoes matter? The critics are professionals, so their opinions combined serve a legitimate purpose for lists on that site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by EclecticEnnui (talk • contribs) 04:48, 8 July 2010 (UTC) Consensus discussion on source reliability/notabilityHi. I've started a consensus discussion here. Would you please participate? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 02:25, 9 July 2010 (UTC) There was already a prior consensus at FLC not to include certain characters, see [1]; you can't overturn that just because you happen to disagree. If you think these characters "never should have been removed", the appropriate thing to do is start a discussion at the talk page. Also, it's not usually the case in WP television articles that there is "no limit" on how many characters can be listed. These articles have inclusion criteria just like all other articles do. rʨanaɢ (talk) 01:55, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Your recent editsI didnt mean to make you feel guilty. I know you are a careful editor and we have a small working history together so I thought good faith went without saying.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 17:54, 16 July 2010 (UTC) Hello, we've talked before, just with a slightly different IP address (i went away on vacation and came back to a new one). I came across your discussion with J Greb and wanted to let you know that I added in some of my own feedback in his talk page and thought you would like to see it. I also came because I saw you were wondering how certain villains are on the list if they've been on teams, etc. Well as the one note that comes up when you edit, we're trying to keep the singular villains list to ones who, while they may have been on teams, they need to have done enough as a villain on their own to get on there. For example, I'll take the Hellfire Club. Note that Selene is on there, because she's confronted the X-Men and their offshoot teams many times on her own, particularly the New Mutants I believe, and was at the center of a big line-wide crossover with Necrosha recently. However, having say Sebastian Shaw get a singular entry wouldn't make as much sense because he has always been a part of the HC and never confronted the X-Men or anyone else outside of it or without a HC based goal in mind. Hope that clears it up a little more. There's a couple villains who I might remove too due to notability or how many times they've actually confronted the X-Men too. Let me know if you have any other questions or want to talk about how we can improve this more.68.55.153.254 (talk) 22:10, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Then I would suggest that you utilize the article talk page to make a convincing argument to keep it in. I feel that the article about the film should have information about the film only, not Sherlocking about what might happen sometime down the line in the films. As you well know (judging from your interest in superhero films), a lot of the history gets juggled around when 2D is converted to 3D. We do not know that Ferris is becoming the Sapphire in the course of this film, or even if it is to occur in the course of the (thus far unannounced) sequel. Until we have that, we have no place for it in the article at all. Hello, Jhenderson777. You have new messages at TriiipleThreat's talk page.

It does matter. It's a courtesy to other editors to have an edit page that reads easily & makes sense. Rothorpe (talk) 14:43, 10 October 2010 (UTC) Avoiding redirections helps with that. Doesn't make it worse. What are you expecting them to read, the editing portion. That part ain't used for that. In my experience there's nothing wrong with redirects but they aren't perfect, in fact they are a little less perfect than using the main name of the article. But still it wasn't necessary with what I did compared to fixing it on a navigation box but still nothing wrong with it. − Jhenderson 777 19:34, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

"Feature" vs. "feature film"If it seems that wrong to your ear, then I guess I can go along with you if you want to change it back to "feature film." Either way is correct (though the latter does seems redundant to me), and at the end of the day, being accurate is the most important thing. I'm not sure one would say "feature movie" -- "movie" being a synonym of "film" and thus meaning the same thing -- but I respect your work, and part of being a community means sometimes giving in to the other guy. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use. Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages. For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Maybe these could be wiki projects the Comics task force could give aide to. Please reply and i could even help out (i want to expand my mind with the joy of comics). Rusted AutoParts (talk) 23:26 6 May 2011 (UTC) I am tempted to say that all the main Watchmen characters deserve articles. I do believe they had there own article and was AFD'd but the result was keep but they were merged anyways. Sounds like a discussion needs to be made on the List of characters in Watchmen about that. A few of those characters I am not sure of. Are they notable or not. I can probably know about their fictional biography in other Wiki's but that ain't going to help in other important information and citing. Right now I am a little busy doing something that needs to be done on comic book character article which is placing reception section on them which can help prove notability a little bit. But I will see with what I can do with these problems when the time comes. I definitely think the Watchmen characters can maybe deserve there own articles. But it can also be said that some Preacher characters (Jesse Custer, Herr Starr, Saint of killers) Kick Ass characters (Kick Ass, Hit-Girl etc.) maybe even the Scott Pilgrim character himself deserve their own articles as well. So we'll see with what we can do but if they do become articles they definitely need to be cited this time around though. Jhenderson 777 18:42, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

RE: Your edit on The Amazing Spider-Man, an obvious term is generally something which someone would have to know about or something that is obvious, like if I said "this is an apple", you wouldn't need a link to know what an apple is. Realistically terms should be linked if they cannot be understood without further reading, like the links to Batman, I think there are a LOT of Batman links for a Spider-Man article but not everyone might know what Batman is, so a link might be useful. Something like sequels, people know what a sequel and a prequel are, so they'd be obvious. At least I think they are obvious. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 19:52, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi, J. It's a little effusive, and while other editors, of course, may have their own helpful suggestions, here is how I would do it: Peter Sciretta of /Film said the trailer had left him "impressed" and had captured a feeling of dark naturalism alongside Spider-Man's trademark wisecracking. I think at this length it makes his points succinctly without giving him undue weight. Just my opinion. Our good colleagues TriiipleThreat and Darkwarriorblake, just to name a couple who edit Marvel film articles frequently, I'm sure could offer suggestions as well. I'm incredibly impressed by the level of your collegiality and collaboration, BTW. Web shooters picTechnically, your pic doesn't really show the web shooters. They show the web and you can barely make out the shooters, so they wouldn't really meet the FUC criteria of being used to illustrate text. If there was an actual shot of the webshooters, maybe, but what particular image doesn't really show the device itself all to well. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 00:33, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Also, and no spoiler involved, that' stuff going on with the opening line of The Avengers (2012 film) again, where, despite admin J Greb saying the lead was stable and shouldn't be edited without discussion, a couple of editors did so. Here's why it's not showing up in a Vancouver Sun search -- it's in the pay archive, which is a separate search function on the site (and hard to find). Here's the cite, which appears to be useable since it shows the quoted words from this Spider-Man article, and gives the date, headline, writer, etc.
The one issue is that it's dated Jan. 3, 2012, which is after the Dec. 2011 date of the MTV article quoting it. But this is about all I can do right now. I haven't read the section, so I don't know what if any information there is about the shooters themselves, but there must be a discussion about their design. If you can find a way to say it that makes sense and seems notable, I sure wouldn't object. But I'm worried about being interpretive. To me, "jump off the page" means "don't just do what's in the script." I just don't know how we can take that phrase and say for sure absolutely what he meant by it. Then there's the other part: All actors have to be "in the moment," so I'm not sure it's notable for the director to be telling the cast that — it's like a baseball manager telling his team that when they're up to bat, "keep your eye on the ball." I'd bet that with in the reams of articles written about this movie that there's a quote by Webb or one of the actors talking about Webb's philosophy toward how the actors would hit the right tone for the material. Anyway, gotta run for a little bit ... deadlines. Oh, I'm seeing the press screening in NY tomorrow. Hope the movie's good.... --Tenebrae (talk) 20:28, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
DaredevilTBH I'm not sure, Elektra in comics at least seems to be her own thing, I haven't seen her have anything to do with Daredevil in years beyond being the reason he killed Bullseye. Also there seems to be some specifics for franchises like multimedia, i.e. I once moved Scream (film series) to Scream (franchise), but it was undone because it's largely just about the movies. The Elektra film obviously ties into Daredevil film, but I don't think that's enough to have an article about them if that is waht you mean. I think those kind of pages tend to have 3 films in them, i.e. someone made Harold & Kumar but there is no similar thing for the Crank films. You might list Elektra as a sequel or spin off on the Daredevil film page if it isn't already there, but personally I don't think those two films need a franchise page. Box Office SectionI will look at the articles tomorrow, I read them, but I will see what is relevant and not. I'm sure you can see that the Box Office Section has already been downsized. So, I doubt if my efforts to expand that section will pay off, either way I will love to do it. The movie was absolutely terrific with a balance of emotion, action, and suspense. Copy editHi, can you check the grammar of the details I've added on The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film)? It just that I am not confident on my grammar. Thanks--NeoBatfreak (talk) 00:57, 7 July 2012 (UTC) AvengersWell, the official title IS Marvel's The Avengers. But the question is whether to use the full formal name or the common name. The list does seem to already include the new formal title Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope rather than just Star Wars, the name it had had for decades. I'm not bothered by it, really. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:56, 11 July 2012 (UTC) ResponseIts fine(I do that sometimes)...Yeah, I agree.--Eddyghazaley (talk) 18:25, 12 July 2012 (UTC) I usually report when actuals come out. But, don't let this stop you from adding information, although I don't think a lot can be added anymore. A simple report of its North American second weekend and maybe third, then that is it. Internationally, we can add the third weekend gross. The highest-grossing territory will be added, which in this case is South Korea. If in the long-run it breaks any other records, they will be added.--Eddyghazaley (talk) 07:46, 16 July 2012 (UTC) Orphaned non-free image File:Marvel dc-1-.pngThanks for uploading File:Marvel dc-1-.png. TDKRI did, as did my young-adult son, though we liked the second one more. And as much as we liked TDKR, I guess we're both Marvel guys — we liked The Avengers more. Layout issuesYour flags seem to be positioned a little oddly. The American flag on your userpage starts at the middle of the "W" of Wikipedia, while the flag on your talk page starts exactly at the beginning of the "W". Both images appear to be positioned to overlap with the Wikipedia logo by (about half of the bottom-most puzzle pieces), though one is on top of and the other under the logo. Not sure if these are intentional or glitches, but thought I'd point them out. BTW - I'm using the Vector skin and Chrome 20.0.1132. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 04:04, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:53, 5 April 2013 (UTC) IM3The Hollywood Reporter liked it, so I may be in the minority here. But it's by far the weakest of the three, in my opinion. Playboy scientist Stark, without his armor, suddenly has the skills to break into a heavily guarded compound and to engage expertly in a 1980s-style Lethal Weapon shoot-out. There's a weird partnership with a 10-year-old kid that just feels off, especially since the kid mentions his waitress mom and a sister we never see — and given what the kid does for him, Stark eventually rewards him with some nice toys but still lets the family live in a shithole. What kind of dick does that? There's slo a major plot hole I'll talk about after you see the movie. And the post-credits scene makes Banner come off like a total douche. On the plus side, there are some great quips throughout, and Paltrow and Pearce in particular are at the top of their game. I'm sure a lot of people will see it out of curiosity but, really, it's not a great movie. --Tenebrae (talk) 14:32, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

Stating "While I do agree this is badly written and lacks sources." and then not fixing the deficiencies doesn't help. If you want to work at upgrading the articles: (And keep in mind here: I AM a fan of the comics and the general Superman mythos. Some of what's to come may make that seem unlikely.)

Haleth (talk) 02:01, 24 September 2013 (UTC) ArchYeah, the whole thing has really become fancruft. Having to go in after one overly ambitious editor and fact-check all his citations is a time-consuming chore, and leaving everything up unchallenged is bad for the overall mission of Wikipedia: More and more, unfortunately, I'm finding that time-pressed reporters at even major publications are going to Wikipedia and taking what's written here — even non-footnoted claims! — as fact. The danger then is that future editors use those publications to cite that uncited material ... a feedback loop of mirrored misinformation. Maybe the thing to do with the archenemies page is to put it up for deletion because the criteria for the list is problematically vague. Then two things would happen: It'd get deleted, which solves any problems, or we'd get a constructive discussion on establishing criteria and safeguarding against WP:UNDUE and WP:FRINGE. I would support a deletion discussion if this option were to be taken. Because right now, this is one WP:OWN-y editor's fan page.--Tenebrae (talk) 15:41, 26 September 2013 (UTC) November 2013Hello, I'm BracketBot. Peggy CarterHey I just want to get your feelings about the infobox image of Peggy Carter. Something about it just doesn't sit right with me. Its not a MOS issue just a personal one. I feel an older image of Peggy would probably fit better with the article as she is more of a historical character that only with the release of CA:TFA has renewed interest brought her back out in comics. I have a scanned issue of Tales of Suspense #77 (1966), which shows her time in French Resistance during WWII, but as with older comics the detail isn't that great and there are only interior panels with dialogue boxes for use. Still the artwork is good and as I said before may feel lend a feeling of antiquity to the article. What do you think?--TriiipleThreat (talk) 16:10, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Here's two: http://www.vulture.com/2013/07/history-batman-and-superman-through-the-years.html The crossover word is used in one article, yes. But read the whole thing and put it into perspective, 50 to 60 years ago, Batman and Superman teaming up or guest starring in each other's solo books was definitely a novel idea. And then you have story arcs like Death in the Family or the recent Hush arc, which have made it abundantly clear that they are more involved in each other's lives beyond League business, the occasional crossover event or a book series specifically for their teamup which you would still term as a crossover. They simply have too long of a history working and interacting with each other outside of the Justice League for their recurring partnership to be as infrequent or out of the ordinary as crossovers by nature are. http://www.sellmycomicbooks.com/batman-villains-list.html And here's a comic book seller and valuer's website which specificially lists Deathstroke as a Batman family villain, in spite of his debut as a Teen Titans villain. Even if you feel that Deathstroke is more of a bitter enemy of Dick Grayson's, that should be enough to warrant his inclusion in the template. Haleth (talk) 01:51, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
Same thing as months agoWell, I said it was good to be back, and I appreciated the kind words from you and other editors. But now the same editor who drove me away before with his repeated "fuck offs" and the admin who says it's OK to tell other editors to fuck off are it again. I was minding my own business, not even thinking about that foulmouthed person, and just trying to put it behind me. But within days of my return he's on my talk page, poking me a stick. And the admin is saying, literally, that if I don't like being told "fuck off" that all my past good work means nothing and that I should leave Wikipedia. I don't know what my future is here. I've started an ANI here, and hopefully something will come of that. I just wanted to let some of the good and responsible editors here know, and that if they're interested in following what's going on, that's the link. I am disheartened as hell. --Tenebrae (talk) 10:02, 5 November 2014 (UTC) Copyright checks when performing AfC reviewsHello Jhenderson777. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular. The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered. If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.) If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}. Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors. I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC). I have started an article for that, but I am keeping it as a user draft page for now because it's not up to standards for being a list article. The reason why is because I think the list should be limited to characters from the comics. The Gentleman and the Disk Jockey have never appeared in the comics; both characters are actually from a series of Spider-Man novels (even though the Gentleman is a relative of a villain from the comics and has appeared in recent Spider-Man films). I created a new section for the List of Spider-Man enemies in other media article devoted to villains that are introduced in novels, radio programs and theatre productions/stage plays. Blaze appeared in a New 52 Supergirl story as well, she historically hasn't appeared in as many Superman-related titles as Satanus but it's irrelevant since both characters share a wikipedia page. I am not overly impressed with the comments you left after reverting my edit on the navbox, which by itself didn't bother me as much since it would've been better if you had said nothing at all. Not only have you contradicted yourself on based on your past comments like being civil, deciding whether to add or remove character entries based on quantity of media adaptations (which btw, a lot of these characters even when adapted to other media did not even appear in Superman-centric stuff), I am also beginning to think you are spiting me deliberately.Haleth (talk) 16:27, 22 August 2015 (UTC) A few characters off the top of my head who lack past appearances in Superman-centric media...Ultra Humanite? Atomic Skull as supervillain? But like Neutron, they all debuted as Superman villains and aren't canon immigrants like Darkseid which according to other editors should face stricter tests on how integral they are to the key concepts of the subject matter they have been imported into. I think you missed what I said in the first sentence of the second paragraph. It wouldn't have bothered me much, if at all, if you had simply reverted without saying anything. I didn't go back and edit war again, did I? I tend to let things go if what I did REALLY bothers someone that much. I assume you probably realized that your comments were rude, which is why you decided to discuss it on my talk page. So I do appreciate that. Keep in mind that you have assumed bad faith probably as much as I did towards you, which is likely because we did a lot of edit warring in the past. And you refer to other editors being tough on you...well did he call your edits "pathetic", or made any other personal slights towards you in any way like implying that you are some crazed fan boy? It doesn't mean I get offended, but I am certainly less inclined to take you seriously. I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense if it's all about media adaptations for the sake of it. If a Superman villain was used as some random Justice League villain without his or her connection to Superman being emphasized, then that shouldn't count especially when some of us have pushed for the strict and more exclusive nature of these navbox templates...it just means it's more likely that the character warrants a page on their own right. Just because a particular character doesn't have a lot of multimedia appearances, doesn't mean their presence in the comic book medium is to be dismissed. So for example, Deathstroke have appeared in an animated Batman movie, a Batman animated series and two Batman video games so far, but that still doesn't qualify him as a Batman villain by your standards, am I right? By contrast, you also thought Doctor Death should have been included for the Batman navbox because of that milestone first appearance, and you started questioning whether I was biased or only into recent very comics after I reasoned that he is very obscure and hasn't really been used more in the Batman mythos over its 75+ years of history. I re-added him back to the navbox after thinking about the points you made. I'm not trying to open another can of worms, but comparing two different scenarios and the line of reasoning you are on. And not everyone uses a mobile device to access wikipedia. Haleth (talk) 17:13, 22 August 2015 (UTC) And again you are contradicting yourself. That is the complete opposite of the reasoning you gave in your comments when you reverted my edit: that Blaze and Satanus had no media adaptations. But they, like the other characters I mentioned earlier with little to no media presence, have established themselves as Superman villains in the comic book medium. And again, you're going "all bad faith" and passive aggressive on me after lecturing me to do the exact opposite in your last reply, now you are wondering out loud if you are going to "bother reading all of that" or insinuating that I will always "find an issue with how it works". Have you thought about the length of my reply was in response to you making three separate edits in a row on my talk page before I had the chance to response? Why bother having a discussion at all if you aren't going to make a sincere attempt to read what the other side has to say, or that you are already vocalizing feelings of contempt and being dismissive? Do you even understand what I am trying to convey to you? I am not re-opening the discussion regarding Deathstroke, I am comparing the stance you took with the stance you are taking now. The reasoning I am gathering from you now is that the only reason for your objection is the lack of media appearances. Boomerang isn't a good comparison because he was part of an ensemble who starred as villain protagonists in Superior Foes of Spider-Man last year, and has in fact appeared in a lot more media then what you are suggesting. A character like Spot would be more appropriate given the comparable number of appearances and level of significance he has in Spider-Man's rogues gallery. Between Blaze and Satanus, both of them have four Elseworlds versions in addition to the standard Pre-Flashpoint and New 52 versions. I am getting to a point where I just don't feel like a discussion with you is worth my time based on your attitude. Prove me wrong. Or maybe don't bother, and I will respond in kind. Haleth (talk) 18:03, 22 August 2015 (UTC) GrandLeader's changes to Spider-Man templateGrandLeader has a history of making additions to the Spider-Man template that don't belong. DarkKnight2149 00:38, 17 March 2016 (UTC) Hey I wanted to say I love the way you organized this page by villains debuting. Thanks, so trying to understand.--Coquidragon (talk) 23:29, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Avengers Enemy ListHey since your a much more seasoned Wikipedia editor than myself want to work together in formatting the Avengers enemies list like you did to Spiderman's enemy list which is a rogues gallery list? The Avengers would be more challenging since they fight not just characters who debut in their comics but, ones from the rogues gallery of the ranks. So we would have to become more creative in how we note stuff and list it but, would essentially be like the way you did the Spider-Man enemies list page. So what do you say? Fluffyroll11 (talk) 15:18, 5 August 2016 (UTC) Spider-Gwen responseIn your last edit summary about Spider-Gwen, you did say you were neutral if someone disagreed. I was planning on having to put in a section for the characters of Earth-65 outside of the Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 like the Bodega Bandit, a variation of the Yancy Street Gang, the organization S.I.L.K., and a female variation of Sam Wilson. If you would like to help with the brief information of the Earth-65 characters that don't have Earth-616 counterparts, you're welcome to help out. --Rtkat3 (talk) 02:53, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
Return to the Spider-Verse relatedI was wondering if you have watched Ultimate Spider-Man where they just started showing the first of the four-part episode "Return to the Spider-Verse" which features some alternate Spider characters that never appeared in comics. If we were to modify the page that talks about the alternate spider characters like Spyder-Knight, a different type of Blood Spider from a Vampire-dominated world, Wolf Spider, Web Beard, and Webslinger the Spider-Cowboy as none of them appeared in the comics yet. --Rtkat3 (talk) 15:29, 30 August 2016 (UTC) Miles Morales and Gwen StacyThanks for the compliment, Jim. However, I don't read Spider-Gwen, and I cut back my editing drastically in April 2014. That, along with the 40 hour a week job I now have, makes large-scale additions of sourced material like the one you requested unlikely, at least from me. The thing is, the character hasn't been around that long, and hasn't made that many appearances, right? If your primary interest is creating a Powers and abilities section, and you have all her appearances (or are capable/willing to get them), you should be able to glean that info from the books. I'm sorry I can't be more help to you there. Nightscream (talk) 23:47, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Module:Graph and Module:Chart use wikitext, but the output is fairly basic per the examples on those pages. You can also see User:Begoon/sandbox/casualties for an example of practical application. If it won't need updating often then a custom graphic, like File:Armenian property in Istanbul.svg, File:Masses of gas giants.svg, File:Percentage distribution of Malaysian population by religion, 2010.svg, File:Cosmological Composition – Pie Chart.svg can be created (don't worry that those are all pies, bars are just as possible). The obvious advantage is that you can have any "look" you want - the drawback is you'll need someone who understands graphics if it needs updating. -- Begoon 05:30, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

Black Panther EditsHello Jhenderson777. I am messaging you to ask about the recent edits that I made to the Black Panther article. I saw that you had undone the "Enemies" section that I had added to the article. I was wondering why you deleted the section, and if there is anyway you or the other editors could reconsider this deletion. I added the section because I thought that these enemies were iconic to the franchise and deserved to be featured as a section, much like the "other black panthers" section. The section was brief but I expected anyone to add on to it if they wanted to. I understand that there is a page for supporting characters, but the characters in the "other black panthers" were also there too. I saw no harm in adding that section because I had suggested it in the talk page over a week ago and had received no objections to my ideas. Please write back as soon as you can. Thank you. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Superman (Salkind films), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Christopher Reeves (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.) It is highly recommended that you seek to correct incoming links to the intended and/or most appropriate target, per WP:UPT and/or discuss and reach consensus on potentially disruptive moves before implementing them. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (2nd request) Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Publication history of Wonder Woman into Wonder Woman (comic book). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., Military Comics moved to draftspaceAn article you recently created, Military Comics, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of " Copying between Wikipedia PagesHi Jhenderson777! As Diannaa mentioned a couple of sections above, whenever you copy text from one article to another, you do need to put that fact in the Edit Summary (at very least) stating where it came from. Your splitting off of Johnny Thunder to Johnny Thunder (John Tane) did not do this. I saw you did list it after the fact when another user tagged it for paraphrase, but if you did that when you copied in the material, that is the most preferred way, per our licensing requirements. Check out the Internet Archive's scanned editions of the United States Copyright Office's official record, The Catalog of Copyright Entries. Catalog of Copyright Entries 1940 Periodicals Jan-Dec New Series Vol 35 Pt 2 (page 129 in original / page 142 in scan) gives a copyright date of February 23, 1940 for the April issue of Action Comics (#23). Catalog of Copyright Entries 1940 Periodicals Jan-Dec New Series Vol 35 Pt 2 page 240 gives a copyright date of January 23, 1940 for the Spring 1940 issue of Superman (#4). Here are other examples of historic issues: Catalog of Copyright Entries 1939 Periodicals New Series Vol 34 Pt 2 page 164 gives a copyright date of March 30, 1939 for the May issue of Detective Comics (#27). Catalog of Copyright Entries 1940 Periodicals Jan-Dec New Series Vol 35 Pt 2 page 373 gives a copyright date of November 22, 1940 for the Winter 1940-41 issue of All Star Comics (#3) In addition to the Internet Archive, you can find various links to other sites with scans of the Catalog of Copyright Entries here Copyright Catalog#Catalog reprints. It should be pointed out that while we as readers/collectors of comic books look at sales dates, if DC Comics (or any other publisher) needed to defend their copyright in a legal action, they would be using the Copyright Office's information first and foremost. [Please note that I am not an attorney!] Finally because the Catalog of Copyright Entries is a work of the United States Government, it is in the public domain. Some of my first entries where trivial places from Honorverse, pure fancruft as I'd judge them today. But that war was lost when notability policies evolved. Now all such articles have better homes at wikia (fandom), with only some retained here. Frankly, if anything annoys me about this is that there is a user or two who insist on removing any mention of those websites ([11], [12]), which I find counterproductive in light of WP:BTW. In the end, it's not that having an entry for all Pokemons is impossible, but if we lower our standards for them, it makes it difficult to enforce them for other things (like, all books, all products, all shops, all people...). Removing fancruft is more along the lines of enforcing WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, really. Despite TTN, Piotrus, and JIP claiming WP:OR, several primary and secondary sources were listed confirming the connection between the characters, so the claims that the article was "a collection of unrelated topics" objectively holds no water. NeoBatfreak (talk) 03:17, 28 January 2020 (UTC) re: prodding"how many articles you said were inclusive on". Just yesterday on HARNET I guess :) (Through a second opinion there would be welcome). Few days ago I added refs to all of the characters from {{Wuthering Heights}} as I found this franchise has been analyzed heavily, so instead of prods its just needed references from a simple BEFORE. Few weeks ago I did the same for some of Gibson's characters like this one, through I did prod/AfD some other stuff from {{William Gibson}} (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Sprawl, [13]). I tried to save as many of my beloved List of Babylon 5 characters as I could (for example [14] and subsequent edits, see also still-live merge discussion there), which in the end meant 3 or 4, and we had to get rid of almost everything else related to that universe, since we couldn't find good sources :( Shrug. Some stuff is notable, some is not, some is borderline and needs a discussion. Btw, I'd use mergers more but I need to figure out a good tool for that (Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)#Any_tool_that_can_create_a_log_of_mergers_I_proposed?), suggestions appreciated. PS. I don't mind plot, but an encyclopedic article should go beyond it. A few weeks ago I expanded the article on Tolkien Encyclopedia, and it is interesting and relevant as in the discussion of its quality, the editors and reviewers both draw a stark difference in quality between some entries, noting that some are excellent, containing analysis, reception, etc. - but others are low quality because they are "just plot summaries". Such low quality entries need to be improved. If there are sources, we can wait, but if our search shows none I think deletion is something to consider. That's all. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:22, 29 February 2020 (UTC) BatarangHi there: I'm glad that you're involved in the Batarang AfD -- it's super frustrating that people seem to be so eager to delete comics content right now. I think your point that "a lightsaber is just a space sword, the Batmobile is just a car" is really well made; I'm probably going to steal that and use it in another AfD discussion someday. :) I can see that you're getting a little heated right now, making sure to answer back to every delete-friendly post. I think at this point that we've successfully demonstrated that the Batarang is notable. All we have to do now is wait for some more uninvolved people to come along, look at the evidence, and vote keep. What do you think about just letting it be right now, and giving space for other folks to weigh in? -- Toughpigs (talk) 01:15, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

But why are you taking out links and references to Doll Girl (here), Doctor Death (comics) (here) and Tigress (DC Comics) (here)? Those all have existing pages. For the Doctor Death example, you're even taking out the mention that Batman had a first supervillain? What's going on? — Toughpigs (talk) 17:27, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 1Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of DC Comics major characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Beppo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.) Emotional Spectrum responseIt was nice of you to split the Star Sapphires from the Star Sapphire page. I can provide the intro and the infobox for the Orange Lantern Corps, but we need to get a group history into that sandbox before we can establish the page which will be added. I'm still acknowledging the debate over its inclusion in the Super Mario series, but Mario being playable in it is undeniable. Ozdarka (talk) 13:46, 17 July 2020 (UTC) Please slow downI see you have created a template about something few people have ever heard of, the Great Lakes Megalopolis. Do you think it might be a good idea to gain some sort of consensus before adding your new template to every article about a city or town within 100 miles of the Great Lakes? Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:43, 31 July 2020 (UTC) Yes second that. I came here to make the same comment. You’re tagging articles in Kansas with a concept based around the Great Lakes and primarily promoted by a few media outlets; I don’t see much in the way of quality academic level research to support that it is widely used descriptor. Certainly from my vantage point in Missouri, and this is of course my subjective opinion, folks would be quite surprised to hear we are part of such a megalopolis. Grey Wanderer (talk) 17:13, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
Why would I see that. It’s just reverts of cities that aren’t in templates. Besides Pittsburgh and Kansas City. The Kansas City one shouldn’t undo edits with that kind of rationale. Jhenderson 777 22:01, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
