Rollback granted

Hi Jannatulbaqi. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Reaper Eternal (talk) 04:48, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

Autopatrolled status

Hi. Thank you for the nomination. I had autopatrolled status for a while but never used it in any way. I didn't know what it was but I thought it was a nice recognition for my editing. When I lost it with Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive1109#Autopatrolled I was not aware of the discussion and I didn't understand what I did wrong. I felt hounded with users demanding I lose a right I had never even used and I considered leaving Wikipedia all together. Since then I have definitely improved as an editor, but not sure what qualifies as "substantial page creation" though. I don't know what I could even do to get it back but it's okay. Thanks again. - Moondragon21 (talk 11:28, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

I was browsing through the new pages feed when I came across your profile, and upon checking how many pages you've created so far, I was amazed. You've created over 5,700 articles—a remarkable achievement that deserves recognition from fellow editors. This prompted me to take action, and I decided to nominate you for autopatrolled rights. However, I was disappointed when the esteemed admin declined the request, stating that your articles are easy to review for NPP and therefore do not require autopatrolled status. In my opinion, if your articles are not only easy to review but also fully notable, then what purpose does additional NPP scrutiny serve? Baqi:) (talk) 11:36, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

Draft article creation

Hi Baqi, I have seen that my first Wikipedia draft article Draft:Pauk Ko Taw was rejected again, even if it was a notable subject with credible and reliable references, it got rejected. The article certainly is well-written, encyclopedic, sourced, and neutral. Can you explain why and how can I fix it? Where is there left to fix? Thank you! KhantWiki (talk) 17:06, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

Apologies for the delayed response. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, I don't believe the subject meets the criteria outlined in WP:GNG (Wikipedia's General Notability Guidelines). For more details, please refer to the guidelines here WP:YFA. Best! Baqi:) (talk) 08:55, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
No problem, thank you for the detailed answer, after re-evaluating for some of the time, I suggest that another draft article reviewer should do the reviewing, I get your point that you believe this subject don't meet the WP:GNG, however I think some would have different opinions based on the notability and media coverage of the subject. Draft article creation

Hi Jannatulbaqui,

Thank you for your feedback on Draft:Gamezop. I have carefully reviewed the concerns regarding notability and references. I have now added multiple reliable, secondary sources with significant coverage of the subject, ensuring they meet Wikipedia's guidelines for notability and independence.

I kindly request you to review the updated submission. Please let me know if any further improvements are needed.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,

Primi Nécega, and citing translations

Hi Jannatulbaqi. It looks like your recent article Primi Nécega contains translation from the existing article on glwiki. For copyright reasons, those translations need to be attributed in your edit summaries. See Help:Translation#Attribution.

Also some of the references seem to have been accidentally mangled -- for example, the first paragraph of the "Career" section was attributed to this statistical report from 2024, which as far as I can tell doesn't mention Nécega at all. The same paragraph on glwiki is referenced by an article in La Comarca del Eo that I don't have access to. (According to this, "it is only available on specific computers at [Biblioteca Nacional de España] facilities or at the Conservation Centers of the Autonomous Communities.") I've removed that citation.

Similarly, the second paragraph in "Career" was referenced by an article on paper folding (again no mention of Nécegas), whereas the glwiki article references this newpaper piece on her -- I've changed that. GanzKnusper (talk) 12:28, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Thank you, GanzKnusper, for pointing this. Actually, I don’t know Spanish, so I used references from gl.wikipedia and added them to the English Wikipedia article. I admit it was my mistake not to provide proper attribution. If you have any additional sources related to the subject, please share them with me or add them directly to the article as citations. Baqi:) (talk) 12:45, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Query about BLP Guidelines concerning low-profile/high-profile figures

Hi,

I am addressing this to you, as you were recently assigned as my mentor on Wikipedia. I have a query about the BLP guidelines and the criteria for low-profile and high-profile figures.

If for example, the subject of the article was deemed high-profile due to giving a recent interview to the press, what would have to change for them to be considered low-profile again? If they stopped talking to the media for an extended period of time and no longer had a high-profile career, could they become low-profile?

Secondly, if the subject was deemed low-profile, would that be a justified reason to remove any information not relevant to their original reason for notability that could harm their reputation, such as a historic conviction that is now spent?

In brief, what is the general guideline to determine whether a previously high-profile figure has now become low-profile? And, if they do become low-profile, would that justify any information, unrelated to notability, being removed for harm and balancing reasons? Svenska356 (talk) 17:17, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

Merry Christmas!

If angels sung a Savior’s birth,
On that auspicious morn,
We well may imitate their mirth,
Now He again is born!

If stars in heav'n shone bright as day
To light the manger throne,
We should rejoice as well as they
That love doth reign alone.

All Glory be to God on high,
And to the earth be peace;
Goodwill henceforth from heav'n to men
Begin and never cease.

2025 Update from Women in Green

Hello Jannatulbaqi:

2024 has wrapped up, and what a full year it was for WikiProject Women in Green! Over the past year, we hosted two edit-a-thons, one themed around women's history and another on women around the world. We also managed to achieve most of our 2024 annual goals, nominating 75 articles for GA, reviewing 64 GA nominations, nominating 8 articles for FAC, peer reviewing 3 articles and reviewing 10 FAC nominations. Excellent work, and thank you to everyone involved!

For 2025 we have a new set of goals for nominations and reviews. In particular, we would like to see more articles on our Hot 100 list being improved and nominated for GA this year. If you take a look at the list and see an article you are interested in contributing to, feel free to add it and yourself to our Hot 100 project discussion. You might even find someone interested in collaborating with you!

This year, as with every year, we hope you will join us in helping improve our coverage of women and women's works on this encyclopedia. Every contribution helps. We'll see you around!

P. Ragulvarma

Hi Jannatulbaqi. I wanted to let you know that I have just speedily deleted this article which you just accepted at WP:AFC: P. Ragulvarma. It appears the user created the article as a hoax by copy-pasting content from this one—R. S. Munirathinam—substituting their own name instead. This isn't the first time they have done this—they were blocked previously under the username RMR2004, see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/RAGULVARMA PRABHU. Because of this, in my opinion the article qualified for speedy deletion per WP:G3 (blatant hoax) and WP:G5 (creation by blocked user in violation of a block, where there are no significant edits by other editors). Please let me know if you have any questions. Best, Mz7 (talk) 08:40, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Thoughts on Catholic-Hierarchy.org?

Thank you for spending time on the Wojciech Radoszewski article. I saw that you removed the reference to Catholic-Hierarchy.org. Could you offer your thoughts behind that? It does appear to be a self-published source, but it also potentially meets the SME standards found in WP:RSSELF given that it is used as a source in some peer-reviewed journal articles and other edited material. The site also has mechanisms for corrections and appears to meticulously cite the sources that it uses. Perhaps the positive qualities of the site do not outweigh its self-published nature, though? Thank you. OldPolandUpdates (talk) 17:02, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

I renewed discussion about this source on the reliable sources noticeboard. Thank you. OldPolandUpdates (talk) 18:50, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello @Dbgbr, Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. I reviewed the article on Mukesh Mishra. Currently, the article is nominated for deletion. It’s best to let the editors decide its fate. Personally, I feel the article doesn’t meet notability standards (WP:GNG), as most references cited aren’t reliable (please see WP:RS. Please keep this in mind for future contributions. Best! Baqi:) (talk) 13:50, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia articles versus Wikipedia pages

Hi @Jannatulbaqi: How goes it. When your refer to the main Wikipedia component, can you refer to them as articles, not pages. Pages are what social media call them but they are not that. They are articles and that is what they are called on Wikipedia. Wikipedia isn't a book. Please refer to them as such. Thanks. scope_creepTalk 08:48, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
