--Lajmmoore (talk 08:06, 29 September 2024 (UTC) via MassMessaging Frans Hals's Odesa EvangelistsHi Jane023, The two Frans Hals Evangelists that were in Odesa, Matthew and Luke, have apparently been spared the claws of the Russian bear. I saw them both recently at the current exhibition in the Berlin Gemäldegalerie. The catalogue says nothing about how they found their way to Berlin, but I don't suppose they will be back on display in Ukraine until the hostilities are over. If you know, or can find out, whether they will be kept and shown elsewhere in the meanwhile, perhaps you might like to add a note to their respective articles and to the List of Paintings. Best wishes --- Frans Fowler (talk) 19:28, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

--Lajmmoore (talk 20:43, 29 October 2024 (UTC) via MassMessaging Man with a hat painting by RembrandtHello Among the latest editions to the Digital Library of Kujavo-Pommerania from the University of Torún in Poland library is "Rembrandt : huit reproductions fac-simile en couleurs. See https://kpbc.umk.pl/dlibra/publication/273700/edition/275078/content If I haven't missed anything, the book contains two reproductions that do not occur on the list of RKD approved works by Rembrandt (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_paintings_by_Rembrandt) nor in the catalogue raisonné of 1908 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rembrandt_catalogue_raisonn%C3%A9,_1908) 1) the self-portrait at the very beginning of the book (page scan 6) does not seem to be included in the list of his works. As it is it has resemblances with some of his Face of Christ studies, but still is not the same as any of these (at least to me) 2) a reproduction of a Rembrandt painting of a man with a hat (see page scan 61). As you have been making regular changes and additions to the Rembrandt resources on WP and Commons I would like to make you aware of this painting. Maybe you have an idea which of the yet unillustrated entries in the catalogue raisonné it belongs to - or happen to know of who actually the painter is if this painting is no longer attributed to Rembrandt. The RKD says this catalog was published in 1942 but I think it was published in 1908. It was a popular art catalog series, see a few here commons:Category:Catalogues by Henry Roujon. Best Jane (talk) 13:44, 4 November 2024 (UTC) The Signpost: 6 November 2024
