In order to deploy the ORES extension on Wikidata we need a few more people to help with a labeling campaign. ORES will help us a lot with anti-vandalism fighting.
The in other projects sidebar has graduated from beta features and is now turned on on all projects except Dutch Wikipedia. (They have their own hack.) This closes a wish that has been around since 2004 \o/ (phabricator:T2708)
Added a new identifiers section in items. Everything with datatype external identifier goes there now. Once we have all identifiers converted items should be easier to scan and understand because of the clearer structure.
We have a patch upcoming that should reduce loading time of items with a lot of sitelinks by 25%
Fixed a bug where you could not add statements with external identifier or mathematical expression datatype (phabricator:T127095)
More groundwork for Commons (making it possible to have more entities than just items and properties)
Could you tell me why Metro's The Source is an unreliable source? It is an official blog that provides press releases from Metro itself. The line has reached substantial completion, and there has been no official announcement about the opening date. The Regional Connector is also under construction, hence the reason why the Little Tokyo/Arts District station is closed, as it will branch off to connect with the Blue/Expo line from there. Also, the official opening date will be released tomorrow after the Board of Director's meeting. Thanks for fixing up all of the consolidation though.
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Orange station (California), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bus terminal. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
Discussion at the RfC is ongoing. That discussion should be allowed to play out. Personally, I continue to object to your proposal and will comment at the aforementioned page when I have the time and energy to do so properly. --Regards, James(talk/contribs) 21:35, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Wikiversity is now supported by Wikidata as well. Language links can be maintained on Wikidata now. Access to the data will follow. Welcome, sister!
Wikidata now has cross-wiki notifications as a beta feature. You can enable it in your preferences. Once enabled you will see notifications you received on the other Wikimedia wikis.
Property:P1367 ("BBC Your Paintings artist-ID") has become "Art UK artist identifier". Identifier values were replaced.
The number of claims on each item is to be included in the "page property" database table. For some items where it had been missing, it was recently added. This leads to improved coverage by database reports: without claims by site.
Mix'n'match has new catalogs: Artists of the Nationalmuseum in Sweden and Encyclopædia Britannica
Wikidata Query Service now allows to view images linked from Commons and display image galley if the query result has images. Example: Paintings by Gustav Klimt
Fixed a bug in Special:NewItem which prevented submission of the form (phabricator:T128075)
More performance work
In diffs for mathematical expressions we're now also showing the TeX source to make it possible to see changes that do not affect the rendering of the formula (phabricator:T125712)
More work on cleaning up languages for multilingual text values and labels/descriptions/aliases
Also, the reason it was deleted was because a person from LA might know it as the LACMTA, while a person looking for info on Metro would most likely search for LA Metro, or Los Angeles Metro, as it is referred to in the majority of official publications from the LACMTA. --TJH2018 (talk) 02:52, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi James. Thank you for giving me the common courtesy of sending me a message as to why something was deleted, rather than just deleting it and not saying anything (which happens).
I did not put a reference in regards to his Super Bowl win, because that fact has already been referenced on his own wiki page. I thought because it is already referenced somewhere, that that would suffice.
If not, would you be able to correct that for me, and transfer that particular reference from his page, over to the Tulare page? Thank you.
Regards, Chris (Tularehome)Tularehome (talk) 05:00, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
I looked at that player's page and do not see a citation for the Super Bowl win. You'd have to provide a reliable source, such as a newspaper article that includes that information, on the wiki page. Additionally, some editors may view including that information on Tulare's page as unduly promotional boosterism. Regards, James(talk/contribs) 21:36, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Wikidata weekly summary #199
Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
Lucie and Charlie handed in their Bachelor theses on the Article Placeholder and Editing Wikidata from Wikipedia. Work on both topics will continue. We'll publish both theses soon. A big congrats to both of them!
I would like to personally invite you to the March edition of the Wik-Ed Women meetup, which will take place on March 15, from 6-10 in the evening. It will occur at Los Angeles Contemporary Archive, 2245 E Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90021 (downtown LA -- map). The building has a pink top with old signage for American Accessories, Inc. dba Princess Accessories (Photos [PDF]). There is on-site parking in the back, which also has an entrance. If you cannot attend in person, you are more than willing to work remotely, as we appreciate all help that you can provide. Finally, here is a link to the Facebook event, in case you want to invite friends, as we are always looking for new editors to help expand coverage of women on Wikipedia!
This article from Russian Wikipedia is generated only with Lua Module and Listeria, based on its Wikidata item.
If you're into Wikidata, GLAM and Facebook there is now a Facebook group for you.
There are 4 new games to help with the migration of the Persondata template on English Wikipedia.
There was a huge increase in the number of qualifiers over the last 2 weeks. It went from 2.6 to 3.7 Million due to additions of qualifiers for evidence codes on human and mouse proteins.

Do you want one Edit tab, or two? It's your choice
How to switch between editing environments
Click the [[ ]] to switch to the wikitext editor.
Click the pencil icon to switch to the visual editor.
The editing interface will be changed soon. When that happens, editors who currently see two editing tabs – "Edit" and "Edit source" – will start seeing one edit tab instead. The single edit tab has been popular at other Wikipedias. When this is deployed here, you may be offered the opportunity to choose your preferred appearance and behavior the next time you click the Edit button. You will also be able to change your settings in the Editing section of Special:Preferences.
Hello James and thank you for the warm welcome to Wikipedia! I received your note and believe there is a misunderstanding about a page that I edited on April 4, 2016. I updated several pages on that date to reflect changes in the structure of a news organization, with which I have no connection, so I don’t understand where you perceived the conflict of interest. Can you please explain?
