I disagree that enough improvements have been made to justify the removal of the tag. Instead of re-adding it, and causing an edit war, I wanted to check with you to get a better idea of how this person satisfies WP:NMUSIC. Thanks! Disambiguation link notification for July 19Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bob Glauber, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bill Walsh (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.) It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. I am trying to include a reference to the importance of Seth to the religious tradition of Mandaeanism which only has one other mention elsewhere. How is it not constructive? 2604:6000:CC80:EB00:79E5:3AD7:BDA6:F78 (talk) 18:48, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
This makes sense, though with my edits I asked for a grace period for sources and left an email. I'm guessing that it's a totalitarian policy concerning sources? Different guy from the Seth guy above, wasn't certain of how to leave a main message so I piggybacked this one. Coquille River Falls locationHi, my correction on the location of Coquille River Falls was not a mistake. Coquille River Falls is at the confluence of Drowned Out Creek and Sru Creek. Squaw Creek was renamed to Sru Creek (meaning grandmother in Oregon Dene), presumably because "Squaw" is a racist epitaph. Speedy deletion nomination of OSKAR ( 2018 )A tag has been placed on OSKAR ( 2018 ) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of Rita Catolino
A tag has been placed on Rita Catolino, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Rita Catolino, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:51, 24 July 2018 (UTC) Let's talkOK, so your article got tagged for deletion. Lots of them do. No reason to panic. You removed the speedy deletion tag, which you're not allowed to do (read the rules at WP:CSD). Only another editor (not you the author) can remove the speedy tag, so I restored it. However, now looking at the tag and the article, I see that none of the criteria apply, and I've removed it again. So, now that you have an article without a speedy deletion tag, let's talk about the AFD nomination. That's a very odd route to take: authors do not generally nominate their own articles for deletion. Personally, I don't think Catolino rates an article, and I'm inclined to vote delete at the AFD, but that's just me. Others might well disagree (I've lost more than one argument at AFD), so now that you've started the process, why not let it run its course. Anyway, once the page is nominated, you're not supposed to blank it during the course of the discussion. You can, if you really feel that you just don't want the article up anymore, vote to delete the article at the AFD. You don't get the final word there; it's still a question of whether Catolino merits inclusion, not a question of whether you want your article to exist anymore. Your message to me regarding the John Hemingway pageDear Sir, How exactly am I to make it clear to you that it is impossible for me to have a COI (as you call it) with a page, John Hemingway, that speaks of my work and my life. I am, indeed, the author John Hemingway. And yet I cannot upload a photo of myself, taken by myself, to the author info section. Excuse me I may be new to this but from what I have seen wikipedia's policies are rather bizarre. Sincerely, John Hemingway John Patrick Hemingway (talk) 17:47, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Controversy section in the HI01 candidate pagesAloha. We must keep Wikipedia a neutral platform and unless you want to re-add 'controversy' sections to the other HI01 candidates, it's best if this one is kept out of the Ing page and apply the same standard to the others. Are you monitoring Kaniela Ing wiki? Then let's re-add 'controversy' to Kim, Case, Fukomoto and Chin as well and monitor those too. This is going to be a lot of monitoring. Do you see what I mean? They all have 'controversy' From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Criticism#%22Controversy%22_section "Criticism" section A section dedicated to negative material is sometimes appropriate, if the sources treat the negative material as an organic whole, and if readers would be better served by seeing all the negative material in one location. However, sections dedicated to negative material may violate the NPOV policy and may be a troll magnet, which can be harmful if it leads to users with strong opinions dominating the article but may simplify maintenance of the article if unhelpful edits are limited to a single section. In 2006, User:Jimbo Wales weighed in on the question: "In many cases they [criticism sections] are necessary, and in many cases they are not necessary. And I agree with the view expressed by others that often, they are a symptom of bad writing. That is, it isn't that we should not include the criticisms, but that the information should be properly incorporated throughout the article rather than having a troll magnet section of random criticisms."[1] Many criticism sections found in articles are present because editors collected negative material, but have not had the time to properly integrate the negative material into the other sections of the article. Such negative sections should be tagged with a
or
to notify other editors that more work is needed to integrate the material. Sometimes a section is created to describe a significant criticism made by a notable critic. In these situations, the section title should be something like "View of Maria Smith" or "Reaction of the NY Times", and should avoid the word "criticism" in the section title.
regarding your suggested merge with MunjaneAt a page titled Manjari Fadnis , while referencing this movie in filmography and career section as I accidentally encountered it , A redirect to Hollywood film journey 2 emerged , so I separately created this page for the Telugu film journey 2 , as suggested to me to stop redirect , but now neither I see redirects , nor it directs to freshly created page , so if this page wasn't required to stop mess , then you can nominate it for immediate deletion , as I have got no special initiative to create this ! To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:19, 5 August 2018 (UTC) DYK for Carrie GoldbergOn 6 August 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Carrie Goldberg, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status.
